Sunny's Dinette wants to be welcoming to everyone. Like a family, with staff having as much fun as our customers and food that is as beautiful to look at as it is delicious to eat. Our complete menu is proudly concocted with top quality products, most often local.
Sunny's Dinette feels like a cozy retro brunch gem that blends classic diner charm with a modern twist, offering a warm atmosphere, pastel details and a menu that shines with pancakes, eggs Benedict, the croiwich, casseroles and veggie options. The coffee, fresh juices and house made maple syrup are frequently praised, and generous portions with high quality ingredients help keep prices reasonable for the quality. Service is described as fast, friendly and attentive by many, though a few reviews note that service can feel average or the atmosphere could use some refinement during busier times. The space is often called cute and cozy with a welcoming vibe, and the potatoes and sandwich options, as well as the overall presentation, are highlighted as standouts, while some meals are described as bland or pricey and a few notes mention temperature or heat in the dining area. Overall, it appears to be a well loved brunch destination with frequent recommendations to return for the pancakes, eggs Benedict, croiwich and casseroles, appreciating the charm and the staff and the efforts of the new owners.
We tried Sunny's Dinette. Cappuccinos were great, perfection! I had the Croiwich which is basically a breakfast sandwich in a croissant. The sausage was really good but the croissant was hard; overall the sandwich was bland, & so were the potatoes. My friend took the egg Benedict which were good. Also can restaurants get decent hot sauce, Tabasco sauce is not hot sauce. Ok spot with great coffee
Sunny's Dinette offered a unique & welcoming brunch experience. My partner & I decided to try something new & stumbled upon Sunny's online. The menu boasted a great variety that catered to both our tastes, so we decided to give it a shot.
From the moment we walked in, the warmth of the servers made us feel right at home. It's a cozy spot where you can see the chef expertly managing the entire kitchen solo, which is quite impressive.
I enjoyed the steak & eggs, while my girlfriend had the eggs Benedict. The food was delicious, though the portions were on the smaller side, & the prices leaned a bit higher. Despite this, the exceptional hospitality & homely atmosphere made up for it.
Overall, Sunny's Dinette strikes a nice balance between a friendly environment & good food. It's a great spot if you're looking for a cozy brunch with a personal touch.

Everyone who works here is so kind & joyful! Delicious breakfast (especially the eggs benny) & lattes. Some good veggie options too. Totally recommend!
The Avocado tasted so bad, dry salad with almost no dressing, i asked for a bacon & eggs add on for 5$ extra on top of the 18$ dish. They literally sprinkled some bacon bits which you can probably count with your fingers on that dry bread with a poached egg (i wasn't given an option of how i wanted the egg)
My partner got a falafel salad which didn't take like a falafel at all. So dry & unflavored. Another 19$ for that btw.
The only reason we visited this restaurant was because the September Cafe was crowded & we thought let's give another restaurant a chance. I guess it wasn't a good bet.
The atmosphere is good but can get loud. The service was okay nothing exceptional.
I would avoid visiting this place if tasty food is your goal.
I'm sorry for being blunt but we spent 45$ on food that was not at all good & the quantity was so less for the prices they charge.
Took a small trip north of the border & stumbled upon this restaurant. Steak & eggs were amazing. The service was just as amazing! The cook was fairly new & brought us a complimentary pancake as a thank you for our patience.
Its really nice brunch spot. The plates look lovely & beautifully decorated.
I really love the casserole. Potates topped with cheese curd, hollandaise, caramelized onion, bacon, fried egg. Yumm. We also order the pancakes & add2$ extra for the fruits. Personally i just love it soak with maple syrup. & the tomato soup just gave me too much sour taste. But the coffee is not reach my liking. I ordered ice latte but i didnt like it.
We really enjoyed our brunch at Sunny's Dinette. The decor is super cozy & cute. Loved the seasonal flowers! The staff was very kind. We ordered the eggs Benedict, the croiwich & one pancake to share. All of it was top notch. Would definitely return!
Sunny's Dinette is a perfect blend of classic American diner vibes & Montreal's local charm. The ambiance is warm & inviting, with just the right mix of retro aesthetics & a cozy, modern feel. Whether you're here for brunch or just a coffee break, it's a spot that makes you want to linger.
Their drinks are excellent. The latte was smooth & well-made, showing they have the right equipment, & the hot chocolate was perfectly comforting-rich, creamy, & just what you need on a chilly day.
For food, we ordered the eggs Benedict & the classic plate, & both were fantastic. The eggs Benedict wasn't just delicious, it was beautifully presented, with a hollandaise that had the perfect balance of richness & tang. The classic plate was simple but well-executed, with fresh, high-quality ingredients. But the real standout? The potatoes. Both dishes came with golden, crispy, & flavorful potatoes that were simply amazing.
With high-quality ingredients, generous portions, & fair prices, Sunny's Dinette is a place I'll definitely be coming back to. Highly recommend!
Fantastic & incredibly nice brunch venue in Griffintown❤?❤? The service is top notch despite the long lineups. The menu is incredibly awesome & we started with drinks followed by sandwiches, eggs Benedict, casserole & avocado toast & each bite was amazing ❤?❤? Cannot wait to come back to this 11/10 venue with family & friends & try other items on the menu 😇

If you need, the quality of the food is good, eggs were overcooked & we had to wait almost 2 hours to receive to your place. The place is not that big & it should not be that long unfortunately...
The lovely & ever-so-charming Emile, as she approached me with my order, saidf "are you ready for the best eggs benedict of your life?!" to which I replied "oh yeah! She wasn't kidding. Great vibe, great food & wonderful personalities. Love the place.
August 18th - 10am-ish Nice day in Montreal, just before the forecasted deluge that has already hit the GTA. We don't have to wait long, however, the wait was not really worth the food in terms of quality & quantity for the price paid. I very much dislike giving good people (the owner was there & is super nice & the staff sont très gentilles) 3* reviews but just calling it how it is. The kitchen was kind enough to replace the bacon in my egg sandwich (15CAD) with avocado sans frais, & while that is appreciated, it did little to enhance the overall experience. The food came out at room temperature. I expected it to be piping hot or atleast warm. The coffee was brewed without love & tasted meh. It was also not warm. They had poured it in thermoses & that's the way to go if you are making & refilling regularly. That was not the case here. The piripiri chicken was the worst we've had anywhere! The chicken was tasteless & dry, the marinade hung on the pieces, like laundry hung outside on a muggy day. The couscous was dry (no dash of citrus here). For 20 dollars, it was not worth it. Also gave my wife a headache (probably all the uncooked marinade). All in all, I made a choice & it was not the best choice. With all due respect to the original & current owners. Oh, & very pork heavy menu. Bacon & pork sausage galore. Our best regards to the owners, however. I understand that it is tough to run an eatery post-Covid with all the staff shortages.
We tried this restaurant for brunch on a Sunday this summer. It was very hot outside &, despite all the open doors, also quite hot inside. The server was very friendly & attentive. There were several vegetarian options for both sweet & savoury tastes. We tried the french toast of the day (Nutella) & the pancakes. Both were a unique & unexpected experience. The pancakes were quite a bit more fluffy & sturdy than is typical. The french toast was perhaps not dipped in egg? Both were a bit dry. The portions are quite large & one dish could have sufficed both of us if we knew in advance. They sat us at the bench at the back of the restaurant, which had a lovely naturalistic view that was ideal for a calm experience.

Second time stopped here at the end of a Montreal weekend & great both times. Great atmosphere & food. Eggs Benedict (once with ham, once with salmon) excellent & ftuit plate (berries orange etc). Easy access driving back to states from old Montreal or Centre Bell.
Reliable brunch spot! However, it is nothing shockingly good & it is far from the best brunch in Montreal. There were lots of spots open, so definitely do not need a reservation. Eggs benedict was okay, not amazing... Overall, decent, but won't blow you out of your mind.
Aesthetic, cozy, 😍 brunch, worth the weekend morning wait. Visited Sunny's Dinette on a long weekend trip from Toronto! Suggestions: Avo Toast with Poached Egg (we added some Tabasco) Soup of the Day (we got Cream of Tomato) Taste. Of. Heaven. Filter Coffee was Fresh & Flavourful. Amazing service by the team, helpful suggestions, great with English.
Pancakes: the best pancakes I have ever had! They are fluffy but the way the chefs made it, it's also has a mild crunch on the outside. The toppings & maple syrup is nothing special but the pancake texture made the dish delicious. I would come back just for the pancakes. Croiwich: croissant sandwich containing eggs, lettuce, salad & a spicy mayo. The star of the dish is the homemade peppery sausage pattie, that has a great chewy texture. 15$ for the sandwich is a bit much, given the simple toppings, but it was still good. I asked for a salad on the side of my croiwich, & the staff brought me a very small 1.5 cup of greens with 3 drops of a sour vinaigrette & charged me 7$. The salad as a side didn't exist on the menu but they didn't think of telling me about the price either. Never ask for the salad as & extra at this place. The staff & service was great, it would have been nice for the waitress to let me know that the salad was going to cost me 7$ though (since it wasn't among the extras on the menu). Again, I would come back for the pancakes.
L'oeuf est resté trop longtemps sous la chaleur & était comme du rubber. La serveuse ne l'a pas remplacé après avoir demandé, mais quand elle a vu que je ne l'ai pas mangé. For the price, I'd hope for a fresher egg. Service was a bit cold & slow, coffee is good though.
