At STILLIFE we not only wish to build a bar, but construct the ideology that life in and of itself should be not only lived but enjoyed. Our focus on low waste, multiple use ingredients, locality and the transformation of ingredients from ordinary to inconceivable will change the way people imbibe. We represent movement, and just like the small bubbles that form during the early stages of fermentation we hope to soon cover the entire canvas of which is life.
Stillife is described as a high energy club experience with strong house music, well crafted cocktails, and attentive service, giving the sense of a top spot in Montreal when it opens, though crowds can be large on peak nights and some reviews warn that pricing can climb on the bill. The atmosphere is lively and stylish with a welcoming staff and a bustling crowd, while a few notes mention that bathrooms and pricing may be concerns and that the vibe can feel a bit restrictive for some. Overall Stillife is seen as one of the best options in town for a night out, balancing great drinks and music with a dynamic club atmosphere.
I have been to this place a few times & would usually enjoy my time there. But the way they treated people during F1 weekend is terrible! I wanted to show this place to my boyfriend who came out of town & we tried to get in TWICE! On Friday they told us we need to be on a guest list, & then we tried on Saturday having reserved a guest list spot & they still didn't let us in saying we only let in reservations. Anyway, I was really pissed & we went home

Still Life has some of the worst door staff I've ever dealt with. Ollie & the female marocain bouncer at the entrance are rude, arrogant, & openly mocking the customers for absolutely no reason. The way they speak to people is disgusting, the furthest from being professional, or respectful.
What's crazy is how comfortable they seemed acting like that, which tells me this probably happens all the time. Management seriously needs to look at who they have representing their business, because no customer should be treated like they're beneath the staff just for trying to get into a venue. WITH reservations as well. Disappointed & never coming back.
People go out to enjoy their night, not to get humiliated at the door by miserable employees on a power trip. Start charging people membership fees & make it a members club strictly if you think you are all that hahaha
Bonjour,
Went to Still Life on Tuesday, December 23. The venue was empty. We were four adult men, out for drinks & fully prepared to spend.
At the door, a young female door attendant with zero business awareness insisted on enforcing a two-bottle minimum just to enter - on a dead Tuesday night. No flexibility, no reasoning, no ability to read the room. Just robotic rule-repeating from someone clearly not qualified to be making revenue decisions. It's not like we're average guys. I had 2 pro hockey players (guess which team?) & a UFC fighter with me…so we didn't even look like your average group.
For context, I'm a recognized entrepreneur in this city who regularly supports & spends at local hospitality venues & I bring local celebs. I don't expect special treatment - but I do expect not to have my time wasted by someone who doesn't understand how money actually walks through the door.
It was incompetence.
We left immediately. If you're thinking of going on a slow night, save yourself the trouble. There are plenty of places in Montreal run by people who actually understand business. Don't ask why this place can barely make a profit & closes in a couple years. When the gatekeepers are amateurs who know nothing about how to make money.
unpleasant door girl, lied straight to me, saying it takes at least two bottles to have a standing table.
service at the table was mediocre, no water, no clean up.
the kind of club where you must tip the toilet responsable every time.
music was good, but that's it.
ratio men/women was horrible, too much men.
security lacks too
i didn't chose this to place to go out, & i will never be back.
