I don't know how to take off a couple stars in the rating for how dull the knives were. So, 40 times attempting to slice my steak - that's 80 strokes total - & the tendons were not cut... So I asked for a sharper knife, (aside: at my new knife request, the lady next to me chimed in saying that their knives were also terrible) which was just larger in size & only took 20 attempts at 40 strokes total. Yes, I counted. Usually a steak as small as a fillet mignon is still warm at the last bite but this was the first time my entire dish was stone cold not even halfway through. It was cooked correctly but I've never had sore hands from eating a steak dinner. If I had an entire bottle of wine with dinner I suppose I would not have minded the surprise workout as much. I was fighting for a buzz as hard as I was trying not to lose a digit or accidentally fling my plate's contents in the slicing process.
Our waiter was nice enough, I can tell they work hard there. It was a funny way to end the visit to Montreal, & I would go back there again with more alcohol & my own steak knife.
Great location but parking is a hassle. Steak was good (ribeye recommended) with unlimited fries but we had to ask multiple times & only got small portions. Not as generous as other locations in EU's l'entrecote.
Service was professional & efficient, though not very kid friendly.
On y va vraiment pour le bon steak & ses frites mais les locaux auraient besoin d'un rajeunissement. Le service hier soir était impeccable, la cuisson du steak parfaite & les frites délicieuses. Espérons que le décor & l'ambiance pourront s'améliorer prochainement sinon on cessera probablement d'y aller.
I surprised my husband with a dinner for Valentines' Day here this year. He had no idea where we were going, On the day I just told him the address to drive to &'surprise'. We went to the St Antoine location.
Neither of us had ever been to SteakFrites before, but I thought he'd like it, as we love steak for celebrations & he always always orders fries with this steak.
This restaurant very quickly became one of my very favourites. On every level, there was just nothing I could have asked for to make it a better experience.
It was a busy night from the start & every table was full, being it was a Saturday & Valentines' Day as well. The service was wonderful all the way through, from the waitress immediately bringing us an ice bucket with ice & opening our drink for us. The food came quicker than expected given how full the restaurant was. & they do offer to refill your fries during the meal, & they did come to offer us that at just the right time.
We LOVED the food. We shared a Chateaubriand for two & it was amazing. I love Chateaubriand & not that many places serve it. My husband pronounced the food was excellent. Even the 3 sauces that came with it tasted amazing. The green beans & mushrooms were so buttery. The beef was so tender.
The coffee & apple pie with ice cream were also very very good. with a drizzle to caramel on the pie.
The lighting was just perfect. Just so relaxing. We just really really had a wonderful time I am already planning when we can should back.
As our party Arrived, we were warmly greeted & seated promptly. Service was attentive, & our guest of honor recognized. The appetizers & steaks were perfecto.
J'adore habituellement ce resto. Mais plus j'y vais, plus la qualité diminue.
Il faisait extrêmement froid, les plats n'étaient pas chaud, le steak très coriace.
La sauce aux poivres goûtait le savon. Le jeune homme a été gentil & nous a changé nos sauces. La creme brûlée était en liquide.
Bref, la température extrêmement froide du restaurant a fait de notre moment un moment désagréable.
Pour ma part, j'y allais souvent mais je vais sauter mon tour pour un moment.
Had a great New Year's Eve dinner with our 3 teenage kids. We all had different steaks & all were good. The mushrooms with the Chateaubriand were delicious. The BYO concept is fun, especially on New Years.
Had quite an experience with the place, the service was good & although my steak was overcooked lol but wasn't bad afterall. Thanks to the waiter that served me he was super cool & nice 😎

L'endroit était bien mais la viande étais très ordinaire. L'option « steak frite » m'a couté 58$ après pourboire & taxe. Je crois que le
le morceau était de la surlonge de boeuf. Le réelle problème étais la cuisson du steak. Un restaurant de steak ne peut pas se permettre de rater la cuisson de sa viande , c'est l'équivalent d'un boulanger qui fait brûler son pain!
J'avais demandé médium saignant & le boeuf est arrivée bleu. Néanmoins la serveuse a fait le tour pour savoir si la cuisson était à notre goût. Un peu trop tard nous avions déjà bien entamé le plat.
The classic steak & frites is delicious. Go for the classic sauce. It is a bring your wine place.

Notre serveur Maxime & son équipe sont toujours au petit soin avec moi & ma conjointe. C'est toujours un plaisir d'aller manger à ce restaurant. La bouffe est toujours exquise & excellente. Le Steak Frites Saint-Paul est un endroit agréable & bien situé.
