I surprised my husband with a dinner for Valentines' Day here this year. He had no idea where we were going, On the day I just told him the address to drive to &'surprise'. We went to the St Antoine location.
Neither of us had ever been to SteakFrites before, but I thought he'd like it, as we love steak for celebrations & he always always orders fries with this steak.
This restaurant very quickly became one of my very favourites. On every level, there was just nothing I could have asked for to make it a better experience.
It was a busy night from the start & every table was full, being it was a Saturday & Valentines' Day as well. The service was wonderful all the way through, from the waitress immediately bringing us an ice bucket with ice & opening our drink for us. The food came quicker than expected given how full the restaurant was. & they do offer to refill your fries during the meal, & they did come to offer us that at just the right time.
We LOVED the food. We shared a Chateaubriand for two & it was amazing. I love Chateaubriand & not that many places serve it. My husband pronounced the food was excellent. Even the 3 sauces that came with it tasted amazing. The green beans & mushrooms were so buttery. The beef was so tender.
The coffee & apple pie with ice cream were also very very good. with a drizzle to caramel on the pie.
The lighting was just perfect. Just so relaxing. We just really really had a wonderful time I am already planning when we can should back.
J'adore habituellement ce resto. Mais plus j'y vais, plus la qualité diminue.
Il faisait extrêmement froid, les plats n'étaient pas chaud, le steak très coriace.
La sauce aux poivres goûtait le savon. Le jeune homme a été gentil & nous a changé nos sauces. La creme brûlée était en liquide.
Bref, la température extrêmement froide du restaurant a fait de notre moment un moment désagréable.
Pour ma part, j'y allais souvent mais je vais sauter mon tour pour un moment.

J'ai pris les brochettes doubles avec la sauce aux champignons & la cuisson était parfaite. Notre serveur a été à la hauteur. Juste assez présent & attentif à notre table.
The classic steak & frites is delicious. Go for the classic sauce. It is a bring your wine place.

Soirée presque parfaite, cuisson du filet mignon excellente, tendre, pas suffisamment de sauce, poisson excellent, choux-fleurs exquis, par contre escargots très moyen....excellent service & ambiance feutrée, belle soirée
Nous avons tous pris le steak frites. La qualité & le goût du steak était correct mais sans plus. Je ne sais pas ce qui s'est psssé pour la sauce au poivre mais elle ne goûtait pas du tout le poivre & avais un arrière goût bizarre. Personne ne l'as aimé. La sauce moutarde était bonne par contre. Des frites molles alors que dans le menu elles semblent croustillantes. Nous avons tous unanimement été un peu déçu de ce resto.
My favorite restaurant while visiting Montreal. My filet mignon was excellent & it was served with the most delicious mustard cream herb sauce on the side. We loved that we could bring our own bottle of wine. Our waiter was top notch. Very cool attmosphere with dimmer lighting. Highly recommend!

We had such a delightful meal. One of the best steak frites & couldn't get enough of the sauces. My 10 year old daughter devoured her steak. Great service & great atmosphere. Don't forget to BYOB.
Toujours une bonne place pour un bon steak, la cuisson de mon contre-filet était légèrement dépassée pour un médium mais, les frites, les haricots & la sauce su poivre étaient délicieux, nous étions un gros groupe & avons eu un très bon service
Building/restaurant is kind of tired. Food overpriced. I have an allergy to dairy, but they would not make a special sauce as all are pre-made. Ambivalent service. Don't forget to get your own wine, as there is no liquor license.

I love this restaurant & the atmosphere was pumping & it just had a great vibe & the food was so good. I started with a French onion soup & the broth was so rich & tasty. The soup was just delicious. Of course they had other things on the menu, but I went for the strip steak with fries & green beans. I did have the peppercorn sauce, which was just phenomenal & ended up having to order another pot of it to dip my fries into. The steak was cooked just right & was really really tasty despite eating so much. I did have a dessert which was good also. Great place for a bit of steak!!
We went to Steak Frites St-Paul on a Monday after work. It was still early, so the restaurant was quiet & not too busy yet. Our server was very attentive throughout the meal, & the food arrived quickly. Everything was delicious. It would've been nice to have a bit more sauce served with the steak since it was so tasty. The filet mignon was slightly more rare than the medium-rare we requested, but it was still excellent. Overall, a very satisfying experience !
Au-delà des atttentes & de loin! Je suis toujours dans les restaurants pour le travail & je m'attendais vraiment à que ce soit OK sans plus. L'assiette de chateau Brillant avec les trois sauces... ... Une délice! Bravo!
Enfin un tartare boeuf classique avec goût & texture du vrai tartare classique: 10/10. Avec de bonnes frites, évidemment. Steak New York cut à la cuisson exacte demandée: tendre & savoureux, & très bonne sauce dijonnaise : aussi 10/10. & un service qu'on ne trouve malheureusement plus beaucoup: efficace, à l'écoute, professionnel & accueillant. & comme on peut apportez son vin: pas de déception quant à l'offre d'une liste des vins ne correspondant pas à ses goûts ni de crise cardiaque en voyant les prix. Conclusion: expérience très agréable & satisfaisante.

Bonnes viandes mais c'est dispendieux pour la quantité, sans être spécialement différent de ce que vous feriez chez vous... Profiterole noyée sous un torrent de sauce chocolat extra extra sucrée, pas bonne. Dans l'ensemble, BOF rien de spécial, service correct, & c'est un peu trop cher pour ce que c'est, désolé mais il y a vraiment moyen d'avoir bien mieux pour le même prix.
Ma visite chez Steak Frites Montréal a été bien plus qu'un simple repas : c'était une véritable symphonie gastronomique où chaque élément semblait orchestré avec une précision remarquable. Dès mon arrivée, l'atmosphère chaleureuse & élégante m'a enveloppé. L'ambiance, à la fois sophistiquée & conviviale, invite à la détente tout en promettant une expérience culinaire de haut niveau. Le personnel, d'un professionnalisme irréprochable, se montre attentif & courtois, faisant preuve d'une maîtrise exemplaire de l'art du service. La pièce maîtresse du repas, le steak, était tout simplement magistrale. Cuit à la perfection, il était d'une tendreté sublime & empreint de saveurs riches & authentiques. Chaque bouchée était un mélange harmonieux de textures fondantes & de sucs savoureux qui semblaient danser sur le palais. Les frites, quant à elles, étaient un chef-d'oeuvre à part entière : dorées, croustillantes à l'extérieur & incroyablement moelleuses à l'intérieur. Leur équilibre parfait, ni trop grasses ni trop sèches, témoignait d'un savoir-faire indéniable. La sauce maison, veloutée & intensément parfumée, ajoutait une touche finale irrésistible. Pour parachever cette expérience, j'ai succombé à un dessert parfaitement exécuté, alliant douceur & subtilité. Chaque bouchée était une invitation à prolonger ce moment d'extase gustative. En résumé, Steak Frites Montréal ne propose pas seulement un repas, mais une véritable immersion dans l'excellence culinaire. C'est une adresse incontournable pour les amateurs de bonne chère à la recherche d'une expérience mémorable. J'y retournerai sans l'ombre d'un doute. Bravo à toute l'équipe pour cette prestation exceptionnelle!
Wow! Mon expérience au Steak était tout simplement incroyable. Honnêtement, je suis un habitué des grands steakhouses montréalais, & je dirais que leur steak-frites est le meilleur en ville! La sauce au poivre est parfaitement nappante & exécutée avec une rigueur remarquable. Je prévois même d'y amener mon ami James Olivier lors de sa prochaine visite à Montréal! Bref, le steak-frites est digne des plus grandes tables de la ville j'espère qu'il gagnera une étoile Michelin en octobre prochain!
