As someone from Kraków who cooks a lot of polish meals at home, I can definitely say this restaurant is extremely authentic. We were blown away by the quality & spot on authenticity of it. We ordered the zupa ogórkowa (pickle soup), barszcz (beet soup), krokiety (mushroom croquettes), pierogi ruskie (potato pierogis) & the szarlotka (Apple crumble pie). While everything was delicious & traditionally presented, the pierogi & szarlotka were our favorites. The pierogis were plump with great potato quality & not heavy on dough. You can def tell they were handmade. Every bite the potatoes melted in your mouth & you can taste the butter & onions. So good! Now the szarlotka. We never order dessert but based on how authentic everything else was, I could not resist trying this traditional apple dessert. Let me tell you, not only did it not disappoint but very much exceeded our expectations. It was served perfectly chilled, & you can taste both the sweet & tartness of the apple. & the fresh cream on top was so insanely delicious. We practically licked the plate. & don't skip on the cocktails! We also had the szarlotka cocktail which was served with Zubrowka vodka (our fave), apple juice & a splash of lemon. Served with a little bit of cinnamon & sugar on the rim. Wow oh wow. Refreshing & complex, what an amazing cocktail. Will def be trying to recreate at home but if not, just another excuse to visit this restaurant. Definitely don't skip this spot. If you want to try authentic polish food, this is the place! Enjoy it with the live piano player who is there most week night. Na zdrowie!View more
Food is fine. Staff is friendly. Have live piano music playing while you eat. Decent little restaurant downtown Montreal. Like it's pancake dessert.View more
Everything was perfect! Table d'hote was so good & so filling. Lots of polish people there so truly it must he good. Live piano music in the evenings just adds the cherry on top.View more
Walked in right before closing & they took us in. Everything we ordered was DELICIOUS. Get the herring dish called sledz you won't regret it. The live piano music, cozy decor, & wonderful service just made the entire dinner perfect. I'll recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Montreal.View more

Beat polish restaurant in montreal. Live piano during the night great food & a great atmosphere. Staff are great also. Will definitely be coming back. The pierogis were as good as my grandma'sView more
It was super good & the service was nice & the piano music too! My ONLY complaint is that there was an over head lamp right over the spot I was sitting & the intensity of the light was really uncomfortable when the rest of the restaurant was pretty dimly lit & I couldn't move the bench away from the light but if I hadn't been at that spot it would have probably been perfectView more
Our favorite Polish restaurant on either side of the border. We discovered this delicious place on an anniversary trip in 2016 to see Patrick Watson in concert. Have been talking about Stash Cafe food since. Finally returned this weekend for my birthday dinner. Love, love, love the food & atmosphere. I highly recommend anything on the menu, but especially the mushroom pierogi. We also enjoyed the live piano music in the background.View more
Really good restaurant! Authentic Polish cuisine accompanied by fantastic service. Really enjoyed the live piano music on Sunday night.View more
Great dinner with live piano. Polish food was solid. We had the schnitzel & sole for mains. Ambiance was busy but not crowded. Good value.View more
I really liked the romantic & intimate vibe of this place. We visited it when there was a live piano music. Unfortunately can't say it was the best service or the best food. We didn't had a reservation & waiters tried to harry us up all the time. & food came cold & was a bit disappointed with golubci ( spring rolls) & borscht. But probably would like to go back one day because pierogi which my friend ordered was not bad at all & choice in menu is decentView more

I have only amazing things to say about this place. Hands down one of the best eating experiences I've ever had; we were sat in a cozy window during a snowstorm. The pink lights set such a warm ambience & the live piano player (who played NIRVANA!!) just added to the lovely time spent here. & the food was incredible - I have never throughly enjoyed a meal like I did here. We ordered placki for our appetizer, which were the right amount of crisp & delicious needed for potato pancakes with excellent sour cream on the side. For our meals we split the beef pierogi, classic cheese & potato, & a dish of kielbasa with boiled potatoes & homemade, warm sauerkraut. We ended the meal with a cappuccino & their peach cobbler with sweet cream. Simply an amazing, delicious time spent here. I highly recommend to anyone.View more
I wish I could lower every rating I've ever given so that this could be the only 5 star review because it deserves to be at the top. The best Polish food I have ever had by far, from the juiciest Kielbasa to the most flavorful sauerkraut to the best dumpling texture & flavor. Nothing at this place disappoints. The red lighting ambience, the service, & the live piano only adds to this amazing experience. I would & probably will drive back to Montreal from Boston solely for another visit to Stash.View more
So, so good. If you love Polish food, or really just food, come here. There was a wonderful musician playing Nirvana & 90s Pop hits on the piano while we ate really good food in a wonderful atmosphere under red lights with great service & strong cocktails. An absolutely must in Montreal. Will be back!View more

This is the closer you can get to authentic Polish food, it brings back good memories from that beautiful country & their traditional dishes. Portions & prices are more than honest for the quality you get. We had the chance to listen to the live piano set while eating dinner, great atmosphere! Don't forget to get a few vodka shots between courses: Na Zdrowie!View more
WOW!
