Definitely one of our favorite Montreal restaurants now. My wife & I did some research before we return this year & found many recommendations for Stash & we were not disappointed.
We didn't make reservations, but thankfully it was a weeknight & we were able to get in. Love the piano player for the added ambience.
We tried a little bit of almost everything & everything was perfect. This will definitely be a highlight to our trips in the future to Montreal & we recommend anyone trying it out.
Side note: We went to another restaurant a few days later & during a conversation with the chef there they recommended it as their favorite restaurant in Montreal before we even mentioned we had been there.View more
Such a lovely dining experience with authentic Polish cuisine! My hubby & I walked in w/o a reservation on a Saturday evening in March at 8:30pm. Despite still being full, we were seated right away at a cozy window table. Upon walking in, you are greeted with wonderful live music from a very talented piano player right at the entrance. The restaurant is warm & cozy with a red light district vibe with the red lampshades on all the lights. Lovely beamed ceilings & church pew bench seats with a long bar on the side. Our waitress was great, professional, & courteous. We ordered perogies, schnitzel, among other Polish dishes, & yummy cocktails. We thoroughly enjoyed each dish & the entire evening. We loved the perogies so much that instead of ordering dessert, we ordered another 8 mushroom perogies to go! I HIGHLY recommend for some authentic Polish cuisine!View more
Dinner on Friday night.
Lunch on Saturday.
(It was that good.)
If you love Eastern European cuisine, this is your place.
We tried:
Dill soup. Latkes. Perogies. Cabbage rolls. Breaded chicken. Sauerkraut. Beet salad. Everything 💯
Can't say enough abt this place. Food. Atmosphere. Cozy dining room. (Live piano player)
Would be wise to make a reservation.View more
What a surprise this spot was! We had never eaten Polish food before & boy have we been missing out. The food was great! Our server was super nice & helped us get the best food for our first time. We left stuffed & happy. Loved the cabbage & mushroom pierogis plus the potato pancakes along with the barszcz (beet soup) make sure to add the mushroom dumplings. The sauerkraut is warm & so so delicious. The piano player is phenomenal & plays covers of popular songs. The ambiance is kitschy & cozy. Make reservations or go early because this place is popular. A must when in Montreal.View more

I had the herring to start & it was perfect not too tangy with sour cream to boot

The Polish beer Zwiec went well wilth the meal
The place was hopping & full yet they could place for walk ins

Cozy, comfortable & very welcoming, from the quality & quantity of food to the warmth of the staff, it's a great place for a meal with friends or family, or at the bar if you're on your own. & the piano player has been playing there for 28 years! Say hi - he's very friendly & keeps playing while you chat!View more
Food: always good. During covid I went there every time I could to support them Service: I was a bit disappointed this time. Service was slower than usual, we waited for 20' before getting the drinks & we had to ask twice to 2 different waiter/ waitress. & I noticed that the wait staff paid more attention on the floor than people, they often missed the call gesture from clients Atmosphere: lighting is BAD. Piano player is amazing!View more
Great food, service & ambiance - Piano player was not too loud. Call ahead & make a reservation, just in case it is busy! Food was Very authentic, I should know my parents are Polish!!View more
A Montreal icon. 55 years running. Amazing traditional Polish food. Piano player is good as well.View more
We had an amazing experience tonight at this wonderful place. Usually you hope the wait for your table at a busy restaurant goes quickly but this wasn't true here. I enjoyed our wait for the table with their talented piano player & it was so much fun to listen to the music as we waited. The food was just off the chart delicious. I usually don't get dessert but tonight I did because I figured if the main course is this good then I have to see what the dessert is like. Also, I got an ultimate Manhattan... Best Manhattan ever.View more
This is a lovely little spot in a quaint pedestrian district in Montreal. Overall the food was great (amazing pierogi, but DAMN it took forever for the server to make it to our table. I will say the (busy) day we were there only three servers covered the entire spot, & they DID bring out piping hot food...eventually😂 The best thing about this place, however, was the live piano player in the corner keying up all the hits of the 80s & 90s. Make sure you bring some singles to leave in his cup on your way out the door; because he'll definitely play something that makes you go, "Wait. Is that...?" He had me at Dirty Diana.View more
I rarely rate any establishment as a 5* experience overall, including food, service, & atmosphere... But this place was top tier. The charm, the coziness, the atmosphere, the service, the food (including portion size, taste, & texture), the decor, the ambiance, the music, the people - *everything* was incredible. I'm usually a little awkward & reserved, but I guess the never ending rain made for some great conversation, because but I didn't feel out of place at any point during the evening. The piano player? Amazing. The wait staff? Phenomenal. The amount of people here were also not too many, which is a solid a+. I had the Table D'hôte with the crêpes, & everything was divine. Great night for a goodbye dinner with friends.View more
Casper was so great he was our server & fantastic. He was attentive & they had a super fun personable piano player. The food was the best & the environment a vibe.View more
This is the best restaurant I've been to in Montreal. I have gone twice now & will be coming back again. The food is authentic, good portions, & good prices. The atmosphere is also great especially with the live piano player. Service is on point, but honestly, I'm here for the culinary & atmospheric knockout, & this place delivers a TKO every time.View more

Wonderful Eastern European food served in an old building with cozy charm. Bar is limited, but what is available is pretty good. Service was friendly & efficient. The piano player added a nice feel to the already intimate setting.View more
This is probably one of the best little gems in Montreal. Located in the old port of the city, it doesn't disappoint. Run by a nice family. Every-time I come here, I feel like I am eating a home cook meal. Feels like home, great atmosphere & always amazing food. The live piano player adds the cherry on top. I highly recommend this place.View more
Everything was absolutely delicious. My friend & I split the beef stroganoff & pork schnitzel... I ate every crumb on the plate. The atmosphere is unbeatable. I love the piano player. Couldn't recommend this place highly enough!View more
We lucked out & we're able to get a table. They were very accommodating & the piano player at front was fun to talk to definitely added to the warm vibe. Food was delicious & worth itView more
Wow wow wow. As someone from Kraków who cooks a lot of polish meals at home, I can definitely say this restaurant is extremely authentic. We were blown away by the quality & spot on authenticity of it. We ordered the zupa ogórkowa (pickle soup), barszcz (beet soup), krokiety (mushroom croquettes), pierogi ruskie (potato pierogis) & the szarlotka (Apple crumble pie). While everything was delicious & traditionally presented, the pierogi & szarlotka were our favorites. The pierogis were plump with great potato quality & not heavy on dough. You can def tell they were handmade. Every bite the potatoes melted in your mouth & you can taste the butter & onions. So good! Now the szarlotka. We never order dessert but based on how authentic everything else was, I could not resist trying this traditional apple dessert. Let me tell you, not only did it not disappoint but very much exceeded our expectations. It was served perfectly chilled, & you can taste both the sweet & tartness of the apple. & the fresh cream on top was so insanely delicious. We practically licked the plate. & don't skip on the cocktails! We also had the szarlotka cocktail which was served with Zubrowka vodka (our fave), apple juice & a splash of lemon. Served with a little bit of cinnamon & sugar on the rim. Wow oh wow. Refreshing & complex, what an amazing cocktail. Will def be trying to recreate at home but if not, just another excuse to visit this restaurant. Definitely don't skip this spot. If you want to try authentic polish food, this is the place! Enjoy it with the live piano player who is there most week night. Na zdrowie!View more
Really great dinner & cocktails. Love the piano player & the overall vibe. Waiter was great as well & had solid recommendations.View more
I have only amazing things to say about this place. Hands down one of the best eating experiences I've ever had; we were sat in a cozy window during a snowstorm. The pink lights set such a warm ambience & the live piano player (who played NIRVANA!!) just added to the lovely time spent here. & the food was incredible - I have never throughly enjoyed a meal like I did here. We ordered placki for our appetizer, which were the right amount of crisp & delicious needed for potato pancakes with excellent sour cream on the side. For our meals we split the beef pierogi, classic cheese & potato, & a dish of kielbasa with boiled potatoes & homemade, warm sauerkraut. We ended the meal with a cappuccino & their peach cobbler with sweet cream. Simply an amazing, delicious time spent here. I highly recommend to anyone.View more
