Amazing place to enjoy the city view.
Hard to find seats & a lots of students studying all day long
Amazing views, but it soooo crowded so beware & u need 2 elevators to get there. The prices are super normal for a cafe, the london fog was really good!
Attentive service, not much of a food menu though. Enjoyed the rolls, though the brioche was a bit too bready. Enjoyed my Honeydew & Bonsai Punch. Great view of the city.
Group of 4 out for dinner. The good: - Drinks were well made - Food in general was tasty - Fish is very fresh - Calm environment with nice city views - Waiter was attentive The bad: - Layout is a bit awkward - Our table was next to the bathrooms. There was a lineup at one point & we had ppl standing right next to our table while the rest of the restaurant was virtually empty. - Speaking of the bathroom, it was filthy. - Maki rolls were not well made. Kept falling apart when picking them up. - Wasabi was a $5 extra per order. This is insane. They're serving sashimi & you have to pay for the wasabi?! It wasn't even a generous portion either, maybe half a teaspoon. It's crazy to charge for this most basic thing for sashimi. - Ponzu sauce for the sushi? Seriously? Even then we had to ask for more because they only brought one small dish with maybe one teaspoon of it for all four of us. - They need to talk to their wait staff about wearing cologne/perfume. Waiter wore way too much & you could virtually taste it in the air when he was around. - Menu is very short & limited. We ordered maybe 70% of the menu. Would we come back? More than likely not. Just the fact that they are charging for the wasabi on a sashimi platter shows they have no understanding of Japanese cuisine & the role wasabi plays in it. They need to re-evaluate a few things.
Awesome restaurant. Ordered Nigiris (1 salmon, 1 tuna) & Makis (spicy salmon) + drinks- all delicious. Keep in mind: This isn't Hidden Fish (IYKYK).You go to Sora 45 for the drinks/view/vibe/location. Also, get real: you're paying for PVM rent but where else can you enjoy a beautiful sunset while having good drinks+sushis with THE best view of downtown MTL? So put on a nice suit/dress & enjoy your time with some friends. Overall: good & welcoming service.
Came three weeks ago & absolutely adored the food & views. Carl & André helped curate a great experience for my wife & I at the bar with their cocktails! Only downside was the sun kept shining in my eyes, but Carl gave me sunglasses & I was good to go!
Ok for sushi lover it was one of the best sushi I've tasted cocktail are next level the refine taste is amazing il you like original cocktails fresh sushi & amazing view of downtown well it the place to go, to staff was great too
A great restaurant located at Place Ville Marie, with amazing views! The food was okay, not the greatest food, & the cocktails were made good, recommended by a passionate bartender.
AMAZING experience we started at the Terrace Rose Orange, nice wine list & appetizers, ambience was so exceptionally unique because of the view on the 44th floor of Place Ville Marie the sofas comfy & clean & the service was the best! We went to Sora 45 for Sushi & sake, really fresh & haute cuisine sushi & the selection of saké was great, again the service is very classy. They explain everything they bring you. What a great experience! I recommend!!
This is a pseudo-Japanese restaurant owned & run by some Canadians who might not have even been to Japan, in spite of its name & deco. I did not see a single Asian face on the staff. This probably should tell you how genuine their Japanese food is. The food came with nice decorations in small portions but did not taste Japanese, without even being accompanied by wasabi & soya sauce. When we requested these condiments, the waiter asked for 5$ for a ¼ pea-sized portion of wasabi & another $5 for some ginger. Funny. The restaurant should really be called a bar because most customers (10 or so) there were just having a drink. They were probably working in the building & had a happy hour after work. Only 3-4 tables of guests were dinner guests. 90% of the tables were empty all evening. Some rather loud music was playing; this was annoying, as we just wanted a quiet dinner & to have some conversation. Although, in theory, on the 45th floor above, we should have a nice view of Mont Royal & St. Laurent River, the view was spoiled by construction cranes nearby & by the ugly white roofs of the building next to 1 Place Ville-Marie. It is a total disappointment for us. Those positive reviews were probably written by the owner's friends, by companies doing it for a profit, or even by AI. In all fairness, the service was good, & the waiters were friendly.
If you have taste plate for dîne dinning, drinks at eleveted of 45th floor, Sora is place for you. 360 ° beautiful views of Montreal, excellent service & Asian cuisine tailored to the best! With amazing selection of drinks to drive in. Refined, elegant & modern - looking to host high end party, special event, Sora is the place!
Unexpected Delights Await! Initially pegged as a cozy cocktail spot, this venue pleasantly surprised us with its diverse offerings. While the cocktails did impress with their creativity, it was the delightful discovery of top-notch sushi that stole the show. Fresh fish, artfully presented on vibrant plates, made for an Instagram-worthy experience against the backdrop of stunning views. Needless to say, our cameras were busy! & let's not forget the stellar service, adding an extra layer of warmth to our memorable evening.
A short, but by no means simple, menu of expertly created, prepared, & beautifully presented items, each of which was deliciously above our expectations. We started with wonderful cocktails as we watched the sun set from above the city. The view, the music, & the amicable service set the tone for a great evening. We ordered three-quarters of the very creative, exquisite maki, of which we most enjoyed the standouts: - Kampachi: ponzu, marinated cucumber, & a ginger & jalapeno cream. Incredible. - Pork chasu: 8-hour braised pork belly. So tender & savory. After this experience, a reasonable question to ask is: Would I return? Unfortunately, my answer is no. Why? Because I am not a paid influencer, I was not invited, & I spent almost half a week's salary (tax & tip included) on 23 pieces of sushi, five cubes of pork, & two cocktails. While the food, atmosphere, & service were all beyond excellent, I had to stop on my way home for more food because it was not even close to filling. I do not have a particularly big appetite either. I do not regret the experience, but if I'm being honest, it is not worth the average person's money in this economy, sadly.
Nothing to say accept This is THE place to discover in Montreal, incredible food, incredible view & incredible service!!
We went to Sora 45 for lunch. The restaurant is beautiful with an amazing view. Service is impeccable. But... food is really really bad. Not a lot of choice for lunch. The maki is awful: tasteless. Worst of all for a Japanese resto: rice is undercooked.
One of my favourites restaurant in the city. The view is phenomenal with a inviting atmosphere & the food is just incredible! Definitely worth it. 10/10
There is no way what they're claiming is bluefin otoro is legit. It does not have anywhere near the fatty content you'd expect & the presence of connective tissue in multiple pieces makes me think it's coming from a fish smaller than bluefin or coming from a poor cut. The salmon & himachi are good. View is nice. Service is good.
