Two pieces of sushi costs $20 & took over 40 minutes. One of us only received half of the sushi ordered only to be told the chef left. We definitely didn't leave full but the drinks & vibe were good overall. Great view as well!
This place is where I proposed my wife. What a great view at night! After eating some unique delicious sushi & caviars while drinking some cocktails, I asked the staff if it was okay to wander around the floor. He said'Sure! Go ahead!' so me & my wife went to sit by a comfy table in a very quiet area all by ourselves & as soon as she looked by the window to enjoy the view, I awkwardly positioned myself on my knee extremely nervously until she turned around & tadaaaa ring in finger. It happened so fast. Don't make my mistake. Take your time LOL!
Not going to lie, it's on the pricier side. The tuna sushi had 8 rolls for about $37. It tasted immaculate though! Didn't even need soya sauce. I had a mocktail which was delicious & my friend had a smockey Japanese style old fashion which he said was strong & the flavour was on point.
The view is incredible 😍 It's on the 45th floor in Place Ville Marie, right underneath Hiatus. A bit tricky to find because you have to go through two sets of elevators but worth it.
Overall nice experience, sashimi bowl & special maki sushi, very presentable & decent flavour. cocktail was so so. Service was pretty good. The restaurant is on top floor & supposed to have stunning view in the evening, but not when it's too dark & if you sit at the table facing the rooftop, not much to see.
Group of 4 out for dinner. The good: - Drinks were well made - Food in general was tasty - Fish is very fresh - Calm environment with nice city views - Waiter was attentive The bad: - Layout is a bit awkward - Our table was next to the bathrooms. There was a lineup at one point & we had ppl standing right next to our table while the rest of the restaurant was virtually empty. - Speaking of the bathroom, it was filthy. - Maki rolls were not well made. Kept falling apart when picking them up. - Wasabi was a $5 extra per order. This is insane. They're serving sashimi & you have to pay for the wasabi?! It wasn't even a generous portion either, maybe half a teaspoon. It's crazy to charge for this most basic thing for sashimi. - Ponzu sauce for the sushi? Seriously? Even then we had to ask for more because they only brought one small dish with maybe one teaspoon of it for all four of us. - They need to talk to their wait staff about wearing cologne/perfume. Waiter wore way too much & you could virtually taste it in the air when he was around. - Menu is very short & limited. We ordered maybe 70% of the menu. Would we come back? More than likely not. Just the fact that they are charging for the wasabi on a sashimi platter shows they have no understanding of Japanese cuisine & the role wasabi plays in it. They need to re-evaluate a few things.
On a bien mangé, on était quand même rassasiés.
Awesome restaurant. Ordered Nigiris (1 salmon, 1 tuna) & Makis (spicy salmon) + drinks- all delicious. Keep in mind: This isn't Hidden Fish (IYKYK).You go to Sora 45 for the drinks/view/vibe/location. Also, get real: you're paying for PVM rent but where else can you enjoy a beautiful sunset while having good drinks+sushis with THE best view of downtown MTL? So put on a nice suit/dress & enjoy your time with some friends. Overall: good & welcoming service.
