Very juicy smoked meat & brisket sandwiches.... the old lady that served us was really friendly too, giving us the background story of the English-speaking Jewish community. The sandwiches were reasonably priced too at $14.50 for sooooooo much meat!! Will definitely go back next time in Montreal!!!View more
Cher & franchement poche. Ambiance déprimante. Si vous pouvez vous déplacer, c'est plus loin mais le roi du smoked meat sur St-Hubert est 1000 fois mieux.View more
View more
Went to Snowdon's .on 10-20-24 at 1300. Line was about 3 minutes. Served a Smoked Meat Platter in less than 5 minutes. Excellent! Perfectly cooked. Made two sandwiches. One of the best in the city.View more
All I can say is it was overrated. The service was good & I love the old school feel of the place but the smoked meat was bland, the latkes were okay, & the hot brisket was like lunch meat quality & flavorless. Katz in New York is about 100x better than this place & that was disappointing given the reputation.View more
OMG, the hype is real with their smoked meat sandwich. The meat basically melted in your mouth. The poutine was ok. Def will come back for the smoked meat.View more
The smoked meat sandwich was absolutely delicious. I know most everyone thinks of Schwartz's but Snowdon deli is comparable. The meat was moist & the bread held through. It's also a very classic spot in Montreal that has been around for ages. I knew I was in the right place when most of the diners were elderly. It says a lot about an establishment.View more
Cool deli. Smoked meat sandwich was just delicious.View more
Great diner with lots of Jewish culinary classics. Service was incredible & the smoked meat sandwich is a contender for best in the city, get it with the spicy mustard & make your best judgement.View more
Authentic Jewish deli that makes me want to ripen to old age & be a regular here! As recommended by various blogs & reviews, I had the full fat smoked meat plate. Delicious & decadent. The smoked meat was not too salty & melt in your mouth! The brisket was also recommended & it was very good but pales in comparison to the smoked meat. The coleslaw is also refreshing & not mayo based. I would pass on the potato pancake next time, it was heavy & denser than I expected. I would definitely recommend & will be back again. P.S. we did compare this to Schwartz's but not clear cut. I preferred Snowden but husband preferred Schwartz either way, both excellent!View more
When I visit Montreal, I try to visit a new smoked meat destination, & on my most recent stayover, I went to Snowdon Deli for lunch. I got the smoked meat sandwich platter which comes with fries & pickles. The smoked meat was flavorful, tender, & nicely seasoned. I also appreciated the friendly staff & the old school diner atmosphere. The price for my meal did seem fairly high, compared to similar joints in the city.View more
One of the best smoked meats u can find in Montreal. Meat is so tender it melts in ur mouth & is perfectly seasoned. You can never go wrong with it.View more
Classic deli that has been a Montreal staple for decades. The smoked meat is a must.View more
I had an amazing smoked meat plate & tried their latkes, which were simply perfect. The staff was welcoming, & the ambiance was exactly what you'd hope for in a classic deli experience.View more
Had a decent Jewish smoked meat meal here. Service was great. Atmosphere is not much. A real old timer that looks it. Should be in a movie set in the 1950's.View more
Some say the smoked meat is better than Schwartz's Deli but I would say it's equal. Make sure to ask fatty when ordering the smoke meat sandwich. Pickle is extra $ 3,50 which should come with the sandwich IMO. I really enjoyed the brisket sandwich, it has lots of flavors but the only drawback is that I wish there was more meat.View more
The smoked meat tastes cheap & rubbery, kind of like what you'd find pre-packaged in a grocery store. The fries were also bad, they were soggy & burnt at the same time. Service was great though. Food is not worth it. There are better options in MontrealView more
Snowden Deli is a great alternative to some of the flashier names in the delicatessen game. It's not in a trendy area & it's got an inauspicious exterior, but the inside looks unchanged since the late eighties in a good way. The smoked meat was amazing. We had it medium & it was rich, sweet, & not too greasy or heavy. The platter w/fries & pickles is absolutely massive, it's probably better suited to share than to eat alone. The place is very hectic & full at mealtimes & the service can be a bit hard to flag down, though the food comes out quickly once ordered. We saw plenty of regulars & folks really enjoying their meals. Strong recommend!View more
Starting my vacation with the ultimate comfort meal: a fatty smoked meat sandwich, fries, & a cherry Coke. Because if I'm going to relax, my arteries might as well, too! 😬🍟🥪🍒View more
Fantastic! The smoked meat sandwich was just the right size. The smoked turkey sandwich was perfect. Everything was what i hoped it would be including the friendly wait staff. Go & enjoy!View more
Such a disappointment after seeing all the good reviews! My wife & I stopped in for breakfast on our way out of Montreal. There was almost no one else there on a Sunday morning, which should have been a clue. My salami & eggs were fine but under seasoned. I "upgraded" to the potato latkes, which had clearly been reheated & were thus greasy & rubbery instead of crisp. My wife's blintzes were also a weird texture like they weren't fresh. The fruit bowl had some nice fresh berries on top of a bunch of hard, under-ripe melon. I had been hoping for a bustling Jewish deli with tasty food & the smell of smoked meat & fish. Instead, I got a sleepy diner with reheated food & Breton crackers behind the counter.View more
Got a booth in short order for my wife & I. Hart's version of Smoked Meat Platter means the rye bread is served pre-sliced on the side, & you make your own sandwich with as much or as little (but why would you?) meat as you want. The kosher dill & a side of fries is included. Great traditional diner!View more
Really a great experienced marred by overpricing. Two small smoked meat sandwiches, two cokes, two cole slaws & one french fry totalled over $70 with 15% tip & tax! It's just too much for what it is. Great service & tasty food. Sadly, this is a "once in a while" place to visit owing to the inflated prices.View more
Amazing smoked meat. Great selection of other things. Super helpful staff. Best smoked meat ever. Ian & Yanni are the best.View more
Old school smoked meat joint. Lots of character & good food. A little pricey & drinks are small.View more
Nice Montreal Deli with above average smoked meat & really good fries. Prices are a tad high for the amount of food you get as I wouldn't mind paying it if the sandwiches were a bit larger. Service was good & quick so I'd probably give them another try someday if I ventured into that area of Montreal. 8.4/10View more
