Looked small , but packed with meat, just the right combination of fat & flavour. I had a busy day in the city & it is July now, next time I will grab some brisket by the poundView more
Snowden Deli is probably the last authentic deli left in Montreal.
Form old timers to newbies , this is a must visit in montreal for smoke meat sandwich, Or pick ups from their deli counter: amazing white fish salad?, Chopped liver, & a variety of other deli classics. Expect long lines on weekends for breakfast.View more
This is a must-stop for us, becoming a tradition to eat brunch here before heading back to Ontario. Fatty brisket sandwich is my favourite. I took home bagel, cream cheese & lox. While I was waiting for my dine-in food, I asked the counter to prepare take-home food to feed my family. They had a package waiting for me at exit. Inside, it looks like time has stood still - love the diner feel, & it's popular with the locals.View more
This is your classic dumpy diner that serves great food. In this case, if you want a great smoked meat sandwich & some potato pancakes, come here. There's real, authentic & delicious. Also, don't be shy about ordering the'fatty' smoked meat - it's still pretty lean but also delicious!View more
Good sandwich but pricey & totally weird service from the owner. He told us takeout only at 4:15 when they close at 6, but then continued serving other people that were walking in. Clearly a good spot for locals, but do NOT recommend for any tourists.View more
Went to Schwartz the past 2 times until someone recommended me to Snowdon Deli. I highly rate their smoked meat sandwich. We also had the Snowdon special & coleslaw. Both were good. I'd definitely come here over Schwartz. I got the fatty cut & absolutely no regrets. There was no line. Service was quick & friendly staff. Highly recommend!View more
Went way out of our way to grab a smoked meat sandwich on our last day in Montreal & it was sooo worth it. Not only did they hook us up during breakfast time with a togo sandwich, they told us about the history of the spot & it was probably the warmest welcome we had in all of Canada.
& the sandwich was DELICIOUS!View more
Husband & I were only in Montreal for two days, & most of that time was spent hunting down good food.
Snowdon Deli topped the charts across the board for us on this short weekend break. Great atmosphere, fantastic service, & the food is filling & homey in a way that I think anyone could enjoy.
Not pictured was the chicken soup with matzo ball which we got before the smoked meat sandwich on rye & the smoked meat benny. After that we managed to snag the last bit of coffee cake & a lemon square. Everything was a star in it's own right. It all came out quickly, & was worth every single cent & more.
We haven't tried every food place in the city this weekend, obviously, but I would say that if you're ever around snowdon & you dont come here? Then you're missing out.View more
Came Saturday for lunch! Hard to find parking in the area. Luckily line was not very long. Got the smoked meat sandwich (portion size is small in my opinion). Meat was very soft. Also got an order of fries.View more
Went today for the first time to get a take out, the service was super friendly & welcoming. We already felt like regulars, & will definitely become so. Got the potato salad & some tuna/egg sandwich, both were good!! I recommend.View more
Aye tonight at Snowdon deli.
Received the sandwich & the bread fell apart after 2 bites.
The meat was tasteless & was very disappointing.
Very disappointing.View more
Cool spot, a bit pricey for what they serve, & it can get very busy. Still, the brisket sandwich is great, as is there poutine, smoked meat, & salmon dishes.View more
Great spot! My favourite spots are now Katz (NYC), Schwartz & now on 3rd Snowdon Deli! Standing with the greats 💪 our favourite was the Smoked meat sandwich medium. The table next to us ordered sausage appetizers & club roll sandwich! We def getting that. The hot brisket was different & delicious! Try it. Corned beef was not our favourite, but everything else was great!we coming again soon.View more
Average rating. Smoked meat sandwich is ok. No waitress to serve you after 3h00pm. Order your food at the counter go pay in advance & hopefully someone will bring the order to where you are sitting.View more
When in Montreal, you have to stop for some smoked meat!
Our large group of 10 selected Snowdon as we anticipated it to be much less busy than Schwartz's Deli & we didn't want to wait or stand to eat. We were seated right away & our server was very nice.
What we got:
- Hot brisket sandwich
- Meatballs
- Smoked meat platter (with fries, pickle, & rye)
- Coleslaw
- Sauerkraut
Final Thoughts:
All our sandwiches & platters were delicious! Soft & tender meat on the sandwich & platters, the meatballs were good but a tad sweet. I found the pickles a little too sour, but I really enjoyed the coleslaw. Would recommend checking out this spot next time you're in Montreal & craving a smoked meat sandwich.View more
When talking about smoked meat sandwiches in Montreal, as I researched, people always recommend Snowdon & Schwartz's. I haven't tried the other one, in my experience in Snowdon, the smoked beef sandwich is definitely top notch. I chose a medium fatty meat which was so tender & juicy with moderate smoky flavor, & I regretted having shared with family Lol. Turkey sandwich is recommended as well, different from our usual turkey ham. Meat balls are great too, just not out of my expectation. Kids love the sauce on meat balls. Others are just average, would not recommend the fries or salad.View more
Bon sandwich smoke meat frite très bonne mais je préfère schwartz désolé... Resto propreté laisse à désireView more
Authentic deli experience every time I visit, no matter how many years go by. Tried the club roll for the first time & while it was fun having so many meats on one sandwich, I would still recommend the original smoked meat if you have never been here before.View more
View more
OMG, the hype is real with their smoked meat sandwich. The meat basically melted in your mouth. The poutine was ok. Def will come back for the smoked meat.View more
The smoked meat sandwich was absolutely delicious. I know most everyone thinks of Schwartz's but Snowdon deli is comparable. The meat was moist & the bread held through. It's also a very classic spot in Montreal that has been around for ages. I knew I was in the right place when most of the diners were elderly. It says a lot about an establishment.View more
Cool deli. Smoked meat sandwich was just delicious.View more
Great diner with lots of Jewish culinary classics. Service was incredible & the smoked meat sandwich is a contender for best in the city, get it with the spicy mustard & make your best judgement.View more
When I visit Montreal, I try to visit a new smoked meat destination, & on my most recent stayover, I went to Snowdon Deli for lunch. I got the smoked meat sandwich platter which comes with fries & pickles. The smoked meat was flavorful, tender, & nicely seasoned. I also appreciated the friendly staff & the old school diner atmosphere. The price for my meal did seem fairly high, compared to similar joints in the city.View more
Some say the smoked meat is better than Schwartz's Deli but I would say it's equal. Make sure to ask fatty when ordering the smoke meat sandwich. Pickle is extra $ 3,50 which should come with the sandwich IMO. I really enjoyed the brisket sandwich, it has lots of flavors but the only drawback is that I wish there was more meat.View more
Starting my vacation with the ultimate comfort meal: a fatty smoked meat sandwich, fries, & a cherry Coke. Because if I'm going to relax, my arteries might as well, too! 😬🍟🥪🍒View more
La meilleure viande fumée que j'ai mangé. Fondante, savoureuse & pas saturée de sel. Le sandwich est tout en simplicité & si délicieux.View more
