Came Saturday for lunch! Hard to find parking in the area. Luckily line was not very long. Got the smoked meat sandwich (portion size is small in my opinion). Meat was very soft. Also got an order of fries.View more
Today was my first time at Snowdon Deli & I regret not having it on my radar sooner. Had smoked meat & fries. Probably the best smoked meat I've had. ✨View more
Good classic deli serving tasty simple food. The smoked meat is some of the best in town, & the fries were fresh & crispy.
Will definitely come back & sample more items on the menuView more
This place is 5 stars everytime. Whenever I go to Montreal I make sure to try & stop here. My go to meal is the Brisket in onion gravy. I don't eat onions but I love the flavour of this. Smoked meat is also really good here. The fries are awesome & the house salad dressing is really good. Just a great overall place.View more
When in Montreal, you have to stop for some smoked meat!
Our large group of 10 selected Snowdon as we anticipated it to be much less busy than Schwartz's Deli & we didn't want to wait or stand to eat. We were seated right away & our server was very nice.
What we got:
- Hot brisket sandwich
- Meatballs
- Smoked meat platter (with fries, pickle, & rye)
- Coleslaw
- Sauerkraut
Final Thoughts:
All our sandwiches & platters were delicious! Soft & tender meat on the sandwich & platters, the meatballs were good but a tad sweet. I found the pickles a little too sour, but I really enjoyed the coleslaw. Would recommend checking out this spot next time you're in Montreal & craving a smoked meat sandwich.View more
Excellent Jewish deli in Montreal. Fantastic smoked meat & fries. A+++View more
Smoke meat was ok, but not cut right. It was cut too thick. A real deli cutter knows how to cut it. Poutine was made with old fries that were soggy. We were disappointed & drove from Ontario for this.View more
When talking about smoked meat sandwiches in Montreal, as I researched, people always recommend Snowdon & Schwartz's. I haven't tried the other one, in my experience in Snowdon, the smoked beef sandwich is definitely top notch. I chose a medium fatty meat which was so tender & juicy with moderate smoky flavor, & I regretted having shared with family Lol. Turkey sandwich is recommended as well, different from our usual turkey ham. Meat balls are great too, just not out of my expectation. Kids love the sauce on meat balls. Others are just average, would not recommend the fries or salad.View more
When I visit Montreal, I try to visit a new smoked meat destination, & on my most recent stayover, I went to Snowdon Deli for lunch. I got the smoked meat sandwich platter which comes with fries & pickles. The smoked meat was flavorful, tender, & nicely seasoned. I also appreciated the friendly staff & the old school diner atmosphere. The price for my meal did seem fairly high, compared to similar joints in the city.View more
The smoked meat tastes cheap & rubbery, kind of like what you'd find pre-packaged in a grocery store. The fries were also bad, they were soggy & burnt at the same time. Service was great though. Food is not worth it. There are better options in MontrealView more
Snowden Deli is a great alternative to some of the flashier names in the delicatessen game. It's not in a trendy area & it's got an inauspicious exterior, but the inside looks unchanged since the late eighties in a good way. The smoked meat was amazing. We had it medium & it was rich, sweet, & not too greasy or heavy. The platter w/fries & pickles is absolutely massive, it's probably better suited to share than to eat alone. The place is very hectic & full at mealtimes & the service can be a bit hard to flag down, though the food comes out quickly once ordered. We saw plenty of regulars & folks really enjoying their meals. Strong recommend!View more
Starting my vacation with the ultimate comfort meal: a fatty smoked meat sandwich, fries, & a cherry Coke. Because if I'm going to relax, my arteries might as well, too! 😬🍟🥪🍒View more
Got a booth in short order for my wife & I. Hart's version of Smoked Meat Platter means the rye bread is served pre-sliced on the side, & you make your own sandwich with as much or as little (but why would you?) meat as you want. The kosher dill & a side of fries is included. Great traditional diner!View more
Nice Montreal Deli with above average smoked meat & really good fries. Prices are a tad high for the amount of food you get as I wouldn't mind paying it if the sandwiches were a bit larger. Service was good & quick so I'd probably give them another try someday if I ventured into that area of Montreal. 8.4/10View more
Good service the staff are nice as well , nice diner ambiance & the foods delicious. The fries are superb. Not oily but not overcooked. Nice & crispy on the outside The smoked meat will now be my official go to. Portion is right, tasty & juicy. Even down to the bread where the bread nice & fresh Will definitely be backView more
Nice atmosphere. Service was good. Food arrived relatively quickly for such a busy place. The food was just passable. Fries were not good. Bread was great but meat was dry. Portions were on the small side Dessert was bland. That said I could see there were a lot of happy regulars & it may be I just ordered the wrong thingsView more
Loved this place, our first stop in Montreal. Kind service & a traditional deli slash diner atmosphere. Food is amazing. Had both the smoked meat & the brisket. Both absolutely killer sandwiches. Fries crispy & fresh tooView more
Snowdon deli has been around forever however my visit last Friday left alot to be desired. Service was slow & sloppy. Our waitress was the larger younger woman. We sat for 20 minutes before getting our order taken. So, my friend & I each had a smoked meat sandwich, which was on the small side without much meat, we split an order of French fries, also on the chincy side on a small plate, Harvey's gives you more, he wanted a dill pickle & I had a coffee, no refill, & my friend had a cherry coke. The bill came to over 56.00 before the tip. This is outrageous. At labelle province, I can get a smoked meat trio for 12.99 that outdoes snowdon by a mile. Also, my mother a few weeks back got a take out order from snowdon that was awful. Example,.the chopped liver had the consistency of brown cement. It will be a long time before we go back.View more
