Authentic Jewish deli that makes me want to ripen to old age & be a regular here! As recommended by various blogs & reviews, I had the full fat smoked meat plate. Delicious & decadent. The smoked meat was not too salty & melt in your mouth! The brisket was also recommended & it was very good but pales in comparison to the smoked meat. The coleslaw is also refreshing & not mayo based. I would pass on the potato pancake next time, it was heavy & denser than I expected. I would definitely recommend & will be back again. P.S. we did compare this to Schwartz's but not clear cut. I preferred Snowden but husband preferred Schwartz either way, both excellent!View more

When I visit Montreal, I try to visit a new smoked meat destination, & on my most recent stayover, I went to Snowdon Deli for lunch. I got the smoked meat sandwich platter which comes with fries & pickles. The smoked meat was flavorful, tender, & nicely seasoned. I also appreciated the friendly staff & the old school diner atmosphere. The price for my meal did seem fairly high, compared to similar joints in the city.View more

Some say the smoked meat is better than Schwartz's Deli but I would say it's equal. Make sure to ask fatty when ordering the smoke meat sandwich. Pickle is extra $ 3,50 which should come with the sandwich IMO. I really enjoyed the brisket sandwich, it has lots of flavors but the only drawback is that I wish there was more meat.View more

Snowden Deli is a great alternative to some of the flashier names in the delicatessen game. It's not in a trendy area & it's got an inauspicious exterior, but the inside looks unchanged since the late eighties in a good way. The smoked meat was amazing. We had it medium & it was rich, sweet, & not too greasy or heavy. The platter w/fries & pickles is absolutely massive, it's probably better suited to share than to eat alone. The place is very hectic & full at mealtimes & the service can be a bit hard to flag down, though the food comes out quickly once ordered. We saw plenty of regulars & folks really enjoying their meals. Strong recommend!View more

Such a disappointment after seeing all the good reviews! My wife & I stopped in for breakfast on our way out of Montreal. There was almost no one else there on a Sunday morning, which should have been a clue. My salami & eggs were fine but under seasoned. I "upgraded" to the potato latkes, which had clearly been reheated & were thus greasy & rubbery instead of crisp. My wife's blintzes were also a weird texture like they weren't fresh. The fruit bowl had some nice fresh berries on top of a bunch of hard, under-ripe melon. I had been hoping for a bustling Jewish deli with tasty food & the smell of smoked meat & fish. Instead, I got a sleepy diner with reheated food & Breton crackers behind the counter.View more

Nice Montreal Deli with above average smoked meat & really good fries. Prices are a tad high for the amount of food you get as I wouldn't mind paying it if the sandwiches were a bit larger. Service was good & quick so I'd probably give them another try someday if I ventured into that area of Montreal. 8.4/10View more

Hard to believe that in all my years in Montreal I was going here for the first time. This is a typical deli, with booths & a deli counter. We shared a smoke meat sandwich & some sides & it was very good. The prices were great also, still a place where you can have a solid lunch for around $20.View more

Great place to get smoked meats & fish! The food was all delicious, & the menu was so large - you can easily get just about anything you're craving, & at a range of price points. They do have more expensive plates but those servings are very generous! It's about as classic of a deli as you can get - cozy & unpretentious, very kind servers, cheap coffee, good food. Literally One (1) of the Best Deli's in North America; holding to the traditions of the brothers who founded it. Smoked Meat unlike what you can find in any other cities spawned the term "Montreal Smoked Meat". Spicier than Pastrami & offered in three (3) different cuts with Lean & Regular most popular. Traditional Sides are offered & for those diners who wish to partake of non-meat products, their assorted salad offerings are served on a platter & are enough for two to share. Never a disappointment & arrive early for lunch to avoid a wait... or frequent their take-out counter than is also always busy.View more

Snowdon Deli which is situated on Decarie Boulevard is in my opinion is a real old fashioned delicatessen which is very rare in Montreal nowadays. My wife & I needed our smoked meat fix & decided to visit this Montreal institution for a Smoked Meat on rye. The sandwiches that were served were hot, juicy, & absolutely delicious thus satisfying our craving completely. If you are a Smoked Meat addict then this is the perfect place to stop by.View more
