I recently visited this small Thai restaurant. It has a cozy atmosphere with seating for around 40 people. The dining area is located in a half-basement, which makes the space feel a bit enclosed. During my visit, it was also quite noisy, making it difficult to have a relaxed conversation.
I ordered the crispy pork with rice, a dish I usually enjoy & often order at Thai restaurants.
Unfortunately, this version was only average. The pork was not served hot & seemed slightly cold by the time it reached the table. More importantly, it wasn't crispy at all, which was disappointing considering the name of the dish. I think the pork would have been much better if it had been deep-fried again just before being stir-fried. The vegetables were slightly undercooked, & the overall seasoning was a little too salty, so I had to eat it with plenty of white rice to balance the flavor.
We also tried the crispy pork with noodles. While I thought it tasted better than the rice dish, it had the same issue, the pork lacked the crispy texture I was expecting. Since crispy pork is the highlight of both dishes, getting the texture right would make a significant difference.
On a positive note, the service was excellent. The staff were friendly, attentive, & efficient throughout our meal, which made the experience more enjoyable. Overall, the restaurant has potential, but I hope they improve the preparation of their crispy pork dishes. With crispier pork, hotter food, & slightly better seasoning, the dining experience would be much more satisfying.
Long overdue review but this has to be one of the best Thai restaurants in Montreal. I think I've ordered from them at least 50 times now & it's consistently perfect. Their laab gai, kra pow, pad Thai & pad kee mao are to die fo
Service excellent!
The best Thai restaurant outside of Thailand (& I lived there for over a year). So good we went back thrice during our 4-day stay in Montreal. Very generous portions of delicious food & the staff was very kind as well. Green curry was my go-to meal during monsoon season in Thailand & theirs did not disappoint! Not going there would be missing out, I have no doubt you will love it.
Had the pad thai, mango sticky rice & papaya salad- they were all very delicious!! Would def recommend coming here for something casual
An unexpected find & a must re-visit soon. Saw they had a special going on for their Mango Sticky Rice, & like destiny (friend had a mad craving) we were able to indulge.
Such a warm welcome & the menu was colorful & mouth-watering. Hope to discover more on a next visit but their mango sticky rice was absolutely scrumptious.
You will want to take another to-go. Juicy mango & sweetened rice in that coconut sauce.
Oh & do try their Thai Lemon Ice Tea. Just nothing can compare & just the greatest way to beat the heat & feeling energized.
