Shoji Sushi is widely recognized as a hidden gem offering exceptionally fresh and high-quality fish that stands out for its delicate balance and refined presentation. Guests frequently praise the attentive and charismatic service, which creates a warm, cozy, and authentic atmosphere perfect for both casual meals and special celebrations. While the restaurant is compact and occasionally experiences a slower pace during peak hours, the consistent quality of the ingredients and the flavorful, creative menu options make it a highly recommended destination for sushi lovers in the region.
Saw this recommendation on Reddit & I am so glad I gave Shoji a try. From the impeccable service, to the wonderful Table D'hôte which included a Yuzu lemonade, a miso soup, a Chirashi Don (I upgraded for the deluxe, an additional $20) & matcha cheesecake. Absolutely fantastic. I will be returning!!
- Nigiri Sake toro & fois gras, excellent!
The food was exquisite, they had a divine range of sushi, tempuras & all sorts! First of all, the service was exceptional, always attentive & friendly. The atmosphere was perfect, having an outdoor terrace with pleasant music to set the mood ☺? when it gets to the evening, fairly lights turn on & you receive beautiful ambient lamps. Now, the big one.. THE FOOD! I have never, in my 20 years of living in montreal, come across such beautifully balanced, presented food. 🍱 I would strongly recommend the Dragon eye, the tempura lovers & the Hokkaido.
They have beautiful cocktails 🍸 to enjoy with your meal. I would recommend this place a lot, for a date night, family dinners, or a catch up with an old friend! Thank you so much 😊, Enjoy!!! Xx 😌😋
The food was great, took the omakase. A little busy, not going to lie. Freshness of the fish is a good 8.5. Pretty high, i feel like its worth its money. The food is not traditionally japanese, what i mean is that; it has western inflience. For example some of the stuff was spicy (i love), but my gf would not be able to eat it. Though i have to say, i wouldve like the tempura the traditional way of doing it. (Flakey not the battered compact). But overall pretty good, would recommend.
Bon service amical & prix raisonnables. Client satisfait. On reviendra!
Shoji Sushi offers a friendly, laid-back dining experience that makes you feel welcome from the moment you walk in. While the food selection can be a bit limited compared to larger sushi spots, what they do serve is fresh & satisfying. The service tends to be on the slower side, so patience is key-but the staff's warm demeanor helps make up for the wait. It's not the flashiest sushi restaurant, but it has a cozy charm that keeps regulars coming back.
