If you’re fortunate enough to have experienced a meal in the Middle East, you know all about their warmth, ambiance and extravagance. Whether it’s on a terrace accompanied by an afternoon tea, or sipping Arak in the evening, the “joie de vivre” can’t be missed.
Having successfully recreated the magic, our chef Joe Awad and his team have put together a menu featuring traditional flavours reimagined with a modern flare.
Our friendly and attentive staff will make you feel as though you’ve walked through the fabric of time to the other side of the world. Prepare your tastebuds, they’re in for an amazing experience!
SHAY earns high praise for its vibrant atmosphere, flavorful modern Lebanese cuisine, and consistently attentive service, with guests noting generous portions and standout items like mezze dips and lamb dishes, shakshuka and baklava pancakes; brunch shines with creative twists such as shawarma eggs Benedict and labneh, while cocktails and a lively DJ vibe add to the welcoming, upbeat experience and make many say they will definitely return.
Everything was amazing about this restaurant. From the service & friendly staff to the incredible brunch food. We ordered & shared the shishtaouk chicken & waffles as well as the baklava pancakes. The chicken was so moist, delicious & not greasy at all. The waffles were light & fluffy. The baklava pancakes were amazing also light & fluffy & that topping was super delicious. Fresh orange juice & mimosa rounded out our brunch. This is now one of my two favourite brunch places in the city. They have a lot of staff & they seamlessly work like a well oiled machine. Food is fast to come out even with a full dining room. & they never make you feel rushed. Also seating is done well so you never feel like you are squished in. We were very impressed & highly recommend this place. Make sure to have a reservation as they unfortunately had to decline walk ins.
We were pleasantly surprised by the service & food at this new restaurant. They had served the wrong bottle of white wine, & replaced it without charge. The food was honestly the best middle Eastern dishes I've had. & our waitress was extremely attentive. Highly recommend
We went out for dinner after many people recommended this place. The food was good but nothing special. It was a cool concept & the drinks were very good & the fried shish taouk was really good.
Lovely service. Tasty & interesting sharing plates. Loved the fish & eggplant dishes. Great atmosphere. Will recommend to friends. Look forward to coming again soon.
Très bon service & ambiance intéressante. Salade fattouche un peu décevante pour le prix, mais humus-shawarma & morue charbonnière sont vraiment savoureux. Je recommande chaudement cet endroit!
Delicious food & fast service! Highly recommend sharing the fried taouk waffles & baklava pancakes with a partner/friend for the perfect 2-course savoury-salty meal
What a spectacular dining experience we had! Such a great menu & very welcoming staff. We went for brunch with 2 young kids & everything on the menu was so tempting..made it hard to decide. The pancakes are out of this world & an absolute must! Cocktails are delish...& they have bottomless mimosas!!! (Something I'll indulge in when I'm not with the little ones lol). Highly recommend & look forward to going back soon.
Resto Magnifique. Service incroyablement sympathique & professionnel (merci à Mina). Mets débordants de saveur. Excellente expérience. Resto fortement recommandé.
I love Mediterranean food so my friend & I decided to have dinner here last night & ordered a few things off the menu. The Brussel sprouts dish & tuna tartare were delicious! 10/10 recommend both. However, we also had an octopus salad & falafel bao buns; both underwhelming. The octopus itself was well done but the potatoes were incredibly bland, & the bitterness of the celery did not compliment the octopus at all! As for the falafel buns, there was more bao than falafel & very little sauce. There was extra sauce that came on the side but I don't know what it is about the service there, they kept taking our plates away without asking us if we were done, not a second wasted. So we didn't get to add the extra sauce. Then the waiter came back to ask if we wanted more sauce when we were already a bite away from finishing the baos. Overall, did not like the service & the food was decent but overpriced. I've have delicious Mediterranean food elsewhere for cheaper.
