We had Menu B, the soups were good & it was nice to start with the edamame & papaya salad, great for a summer day.
The issues came with the main. The beef plate genuinely tasted *wrong* & my mom & I instantly noticed in the first bite. We notified our waitress & she had the dish remade, but told us it was'impossible' since they're super careful with that sort of thing. I'm happy to hear that the restaurant is careful with expiration dates, as any restaurant should be, but mistakes happen, especially as stock is rotated, issues with preservation in transport, etc. The remade version was much better & completely different (without the rancid taste).
We were served ice cream & jasmine tea for dessert.
Other than that dish in particular, the food was decent, & very well presented. I wish the service was better as the ambiance was very nice! (we felt our waitress was very curt/we were being brushed off).
For the price point, you're better eating elsewhere ??
Accueil chaleureux, service rapide & courtois, mets excellents! Le seul hic était la soupe won ton pleine de champignons…. Nous retournerons c'est sûr!
Just visited SESAME for the 1st time. At first glance you might recoil on the prices however once you experience the culinary delights you will agree that the price is well worth it. The visual cues as to how the food is present in the harmonizing dinner plates adds to the overall experience. The Won Ton & Tom Yum soups were full of flavour. The Pad Thai, General Tao chicken & Beef Red Curry were meals unto itself. Experience the joy of a pleasurable Asian culinary delights. To sample a good cross-section of the entire menu, I suggest you select the MENU #2. You will not be disappointed. Just my 2cents.

Food is always served hot & delicious! The general tao is lightly breaded & perfectly crisp, & the won ton soup is delicious. Love coming here. Definitely try one of their tasting menus for two of its your first time! We've been over 5 times since it opened & it is consistent :)

Il y a une soupe ramen pour un temps limité sur le menu, elle est très bonne. & les mocktails sont un délice pour les yeux & les papilles.
La nourriture est excellente! Soupe wonton très parfumée & boullion parfait. Les rouleaux impériaux sont les meilleurs que j'ai mangé; croustillant à l'extérieur & pleins de saveur. J'ai moins aimé mon tofu au beurre, la sauce avait un goût que je n'aimais pas mais je me connais pas la différence avec le tofu au beurre de l'Inde que j'aime toujours. Mon ami a adoré tout ce qu'il a commandé. Très joli décor & ambiance. Service rapide & courtois. Je le recommande!
It was ok but on the expensive side. Some of the food was good (mainly the dumplings, the poke bowl & the shrimp tempura), the general tao is very bland; the sauce was sweet but didn't taste like general tao - more like generic Asian sauce for white people & the chicken was clearly frozen nuggets or something - more breading than chicken. The wonton soup had 2 wontons in it, mushrooms & a baby bok choy but tasted overly like chinese five spice or star anise, so if you like the traditional wonton soup from most chinese restaurants you will be sorely disappointed. I ordered shrimp & tofu chow mein & I only got shrimp... & the sauce for it was basically sweet soy & perfumed ginger, & there was a lot of it which made the noodles soggy. I left most of it because it just wasn't great. The chicken bao was pretty bland as well & the chicken itself was mostly batter with hardly any chicken (again, probably frozen), & the bao had a bunch of cilantro in it, hidden under the lettuce. I don't know which bao this was supposed to be (I'm guessing the spicy one), as it also came with avocado & the general tao one did not have either (avocado or cilantro) listed as an ingredient on the menu, it was also missing the cheese. I'm glad it wasn't me eating it but my poor husband had a reaction to the cilantro & had to take an allergy pill when we got home because of it. I guess we found out the hard way that he's also allergic to it like I am (at least it wasn't a life threatening reaction but seriously, that should have been listed on the menu!)
I will say the peanut sauce was also decent (though a bit on the sweeter side). All in all the dumplings & peanuts were good but if I want to spend money like that I'll go for dim sum.
Our server was nice & polite, as was the rest of the staff so no complaints there, but the food wasn't anything to be thrilled about, especially at the cost we paid for it. I'm not a foodie, so maybe that's my problem. I like good food, & I don't mind spending money on good food, but I don't follow these food trends & fusion joints because they can't decide what kind of restaurant they want to be. This place honestly just feels like a bunch of white people trying & failing to make Asian food, & I say Asian because there was no direction it in. Could've been Thai, or Japanese, or Chinese, but the only thing it really was, is confused fusion that just tastes overly salty & overly sweet.
They do have a great selection. I The Tom Yum soup with tofu in it. As well as the papaya salad. Everything was really good. I like that. It is a little bit of a nicer vibe so it's quick food but not exactly fast food. It was a nice place. I feel like the dinner vibe would be really nice here too.
The only thing is, I did find the salad a touch sweet. The service was a bit on the slow side, but other than that, it was great.
