this place offers the Laotian food. We ordered papaya salad, nem khao, kua mee, fried chicken skin. I love fried chicken skin, crispy & a bit salty. Very hard to find here. I wish the papaya salad would be more sep, its still not hit. Kua mee & Nem khao is good tho. When we went there, it was only one serveuse so the service was really slow.
But the serveuse is really friendly & attentive.View more
A gem in the neighbourhood, I really enjoy this little spot!
Limited indoor seating & with a quaint garden area in the back, the restaurant is located a stone's throw from the metro & plenty of street parking can be found. BYOB with generous portions for sharing, even with the two exceptions noted below, I would not hesitate in recommending nor in returning!
pros:
- intimate & great for comfortable conversation
- convenient location
- generally tasty flavours
- efficient reservation system
- lovely garden/exterior dining space
- mango salad
cons:
- Heat level of spice: I thought perhaps an oversight in our order especially as the server stressed it would be spicy. Bizarrely undetectable, including in the chili oil offered.
- Tam mak hoong (padaek): unfortunately unpalatable to my party. The padaek & salt overpowering all other flavours & excessively pungent, the papaya lacking crunch, the chili sorely absent.View more
Came back 2 years later & the taste was different / way too salty :(View more
Beautiful outdoor terrace & simple but good food.View more
Had a lovely evening with family to celebrate my spouse's birthday. The terrace was very nice & the mango salad was a highlight !View more
View more
View more
C'était note 1ère expérience. J'y retourne certainement!

Booked a private room for my family visiting out of town & it was a great experience. Food was family style from the tasting menu & we were stuffed with lots of leftovers to bring home. A lot of great flavours throughout & solid service. Can't wait for our next visit!View more
Food is amazing, vibes are great. Can't wait to return!View more
This was the first restaurant we stopped at on a trip to Montreal from Edmonton & it was fantastic. We sat on the patio & enjoyed the food, the service, & the ambiance!View more
Definitely the best laarb I've ever had, either in Laos or otherwise. The leftovers even got better in the fridge. & their homemade Sriracha was well spicy beyond bottled, without too much garlic.
Next time I'm getting one of their combos, either the takeaway pannier, or the tasting menu. BYOB.View more
Very nice place & unusual cuisine! I've got a discovery menu & none of the dishes disappointed! The service lacks a bit of attention, which is not surprising,'cause the place was full.
If you are more than 3 make sure you have a reservation ;)View more
The server was amazing, very attentive & seemed to be serving the entire restaurant by herself.
The food was very good, as expected.
Location also very good being so close to the metro.View more
Delicious meal, wonderful friends & top notch service.View more
Cozy atmosphere, cute decor & decent favors but not too unique savours to the dishes. Certain dishes were too salty, some simple flavours meals not too authentic to Laos. Small portions for the price.
Service was the most disappointing. One host ( pardon my description but she was white) was very welcoming & accommodating to combine both parties of 4 into one table. The other waitress was really unhappy, unwelcoming & unwilling to provide us with advice on what is best to order, if you asked for any napkins no response but will go & get it, she wont introduced us to special dishes like curry or ask us if we want drinks. Had to get another the other waitress to complete the order. She was not friendly plus at the end we recognize in front of her one uncooked prawn in our curry. They didn't give us another dish nor apologize for their mistake. We paid $ 450 for our meal but quite unhappy with the service mist disappointing coming to visit from Toronto That would be unacceptable to the Toronto standards even Montreal. If only the service was better the experience would not have been such disappointment. Love trying different culture food & willing to pay for great restaurant but must say service was not to the standard.View more
