We hope our hospitality and dishes gain your patronage and confidence, making our establishment your preferred choice for culinary excellence.
Select from various egg dishes as well as pancakes and waffles during breakfast hours. Of note are the eight sides to choose from - bacon, beef salami, bologna, ham, roasted pork, sausage, smoked meat and smoked sausage.
Lunch offerings change often, so you can enjoy filet of sole one day and pizza or a smoked meat the next.
Sel, Poivre et Pommes draws broad praise for generous portions, fresh ingredients, and a warm, inviting atmosphere that makes guests feel welcome from the moment they enter. Breakfast and brunch are widely celebrated for variety and quality, with eggs Benedict, crepes, waffles, and potatoes described as delicious and often served in substantial portions. Value is another common thread, with many noting affordable prices for the generous servings. Service is repeatedly highlighted as fast, attentive, and friendly, with staff going above and beyond and the owner often seen working in the dining room. On the flip side, weekends can be very busy, making the space loud and tables tight with wait times during peak hours. Occasional menu items do not meet expectations, but overall quality remains high and the experience is consistently positive. Many reviewers consider it a go to breakfast spot in Laval and Montreal, with repeat visits and a strong likelihood of returning. Overall, Sel, Poivre et Pommes is described as a charming, reliable brunch destination where warmth, efficiency, and generous food define the experience.
Was excited to eat here based on all the 5 star reviews. Sadly the food was below average. My friend had the smoked meat sandwich which was underwhelming & the grilled cheese was just ok. The potatoes were yummy & the coffee was good & hot & refilled often. The waitress was super friendly. Won't return, will go to my usual Allo Mon Coco.
This was a good experience. Honestly I have had better crepes & pouched eggs, but this place falls on the higher end of my list. The staff are welcoming. Place is tidy & clean. Quality of the coffee could improve a little as well.
Overall if you are looking for a good brunch with reasonable price in a cosy environment in Laval, this place is a one the bests.
We are very happy with our experience here . The food was delicious & very reasonably priced. We went on a Saturday morning & the service was very fast & the staff was always sure to top up our water & coffee!! Mary looked after our table & she was an absolute pleasure- always smiling & happy to help. We will definitely return next time we are in Montreal!
Wow. Talk about service. Our server was so on it. (The younger staff were too busy being seen.... to refill coffee). He was great! We needed a to go box & again he was so fast.. same with the bill.
I had the pulled pork Benedict. I can't believe how quickly we were served. I almost wasn't ready...lol. Great potatoes. The spicy hollandaise wasn't spicy at all. The pulled pork has a sweet sauce (like 95% of them do). Im not a fan... but that's a me thing. The dish was prepared & served properly.
We sat to the left of the front door instead of the main room as it was quieter. That was a recommendation.. & was well received.

We went for the high review. The coffee was great. However, unfortunately, the waitress got both our orders wrong. & she insisted that she was 100% sure of what she recorded was what we ordered. Sorry but we both witnessed that her record was wrong.
Great breakfast spot! Friendly staff, clean space, great coffee, & excellent service. Very accommodating for dietary restrictions. Would definitely recommend
A nice breakfast / brunch place in Laval/Montreal. There is free parking. Very busy place though we did come on Canada Day. We did have to wait a while for service but that was because they were down a staff member. I appreciated getting coffee immediately.
Food wise the breakfast was light despite it being fried eggs, various meats etc. Perfect portion size. I loved the French toast it didn't get soggy after putting maple syrup on it.
This place was packed on a Saturday morning, but we were greeted right away & seated quickly. The servers were friendly & incredibly fast, which made the whole experience feel smooth despite the crowd.
We had the omelette & the Greek French toast. The omelette was loaded with ingredients & cooked perfectly-not dry or overdone. The Greek French toast was a standout, with a great balance of sweet & savory.
The menu is massive & full of interesting choices, & it's clear the kitchen can handle it. There are also plenty of specialty drinks if you want something beyond the usual coffee.
Parking isn't easy with how busy it gets, but it's worth the trouble. We'll definitely be back.

This is by far my favorite breakfast place in Montreal. The food is absolutely incredible. The potatoes were crisp, the waffle was perfect, & the bacon just right. Coffee was great & plentiful too. The service was excellent - waiters are attentive
Love this breakfast place. The owner is the nicest gentleman that makes it feel like you are home. The service is exceptional with the waiters regularly refilling the coffee cups. I had the egg avocado bacon & goat cheese on toast. Absolutely mouth watering!
A PERFECT breakfast/brunch experience. Found parking, seated in booth in less than a minute after entering. Mary (who is an absolute ROCKSTAR) had coffee on the table within another minute & a half. The food was excellent; quality ingredients with great portions & value (also made impressively quick). Truly a'benchmark' establishment that I'm now looking forward to revisiting. Highly recommend!
Super busy spot. Food came out super fast. Big portions. Decent prices. Wished we had more frequent table checks & coffee refills but it was very busy so we understood. Will return!

I didn't like the service, it felt rushed. I sat in the corner, we were 5 people & I accepted that they add a chair to the end of the table to accommodate for lack of space. - No air & smells - Coffee mugs with coffee stains - Every time, & I mean every single time coffee was served, it was fast & while pulling back it dripped all over the table & our plates. - Salmon had a bad taste -My cousin's bagel was on my plate & I ordered Raw Salmon. When I asked the waitress why it's in my plate she said "well you can just give it to him". To be honest, I wasn't sure whether it was mine, a mistake or... My cousin purposely ordered a plane bagel because he's picky with food & does not like to mix much. Having it touch my raw Salmon was not appetizing for him not to mention he could have allergies. When I told the waitress, why did you take the decision of putting his food on my plate, she blamed the cook. I made the comment that he could have been allergic & her response "well you should tell us" I told her that's unacceptable. No accountability whatsoever. I had gone to the place before & I like it. I'm never going back there again.
Best breakfast place we have gone to, & great coffee compared to other places. Great service excellent omelets & egg benedict wants you coming back for more
Excellent service from the beginning. Water comes as soon as you order your coffee. Friendly, fast, & food was amazing. Very impressive. Can't wait to go again! Thank you
