What a special restaurant. The flavours are unique & beautifully balanced, with outstanding local ingredients showcased in every dish. The menu is small, but every item is thoughtfully created & executed perfectly.

The service was exceptional-friendly, knowledgeable, & genuinely enthusiastic about the food. The staff took the time to explain each dish, which made the experience even more enjoyable.

One thing that really stood out was learning they are a gratuity-free restaurant. When I offered to leave a tip, I was told,'Don't worry, we're paid well.' I found that incredibly refreshing. I'd experienced this in Australia & loved it there too. It removes the pressure & awkwardness around tipping, making the hospitality feel natural & authentic. I'd happily pay a little more for a meal if it supports this approach.

My wife & I have been saying'what a great meal that was' constantly since visiting yesterday, highly recommended!

Absolutely loved our experience at Sauce Prune. 🙏🏻 everything was so flavourful & delicious, the food came out so quickly as well & it tasted so fresh.

It's refreshing to know that the tip is included, but the service was exceptional nonetheless. 🥳

We had the tataki, fried chicken, dumplings, rice noodles & coconut flan. 😋 everything was delicious.

No need to add another 5-star review here but I feel compelled as I was truly impressed. When I stopped by the shop was participating in a fair somewhere so there was no food to order at the store. But the store made sure that there would be some ready-to-eat food for sale. I bought Japanese-style cold soba (with perfectly seasoned soy sauce) & Taiwanese-style minced pork with rice (star anise & cilantro flavour) & freshly baked pork buns - all were soooo good. I grew up in Japan & toured around Taiwan several times for weeks so I can bet the food at this store has authentic flavour with fresh local ingredients. Select Asian food items of great quality are also being sold at the store, too. I envy people who live in this town & get to enjoy such high-quality Asian food so close to home. I live in Toronto with million Asian food places but I can't find equally-good food vendors sob.

Excellent choice for celebrating our 32 anniversary. The flavours blended perfectly with the excellent service & simplicity. Menu changes weekly. We'll be back!
