Review Summary

Satay Brothers is widely celebrated as a vibrant and essential culinary destination in Montreal, known for its fun atmosphere, eclectic decor, and authentic Southeast Asian dishes. Many diners praise the consistently delicious food, frequently highlighting the pork belly bao buns, papaya salad, and laksa as standout items. While the energetic and lively environment is appreciated by those seeking a festive night out with friends or large groups, some guests find the music and acoustics make conversation challenging. Service is generally described as attentive, professional, and welcoming, though experiences can vary during peak hours. Some visitors feel the portions are small relative to the price or that certain dishes can be overly salty, but most reviews emphasize a high level of satisfaction, describing the restaurant as a consistent, must visit spot that captures the essence of a night market experience.

Satay Brothers is one of my favourite restaurants in Montreal. The food here is always immaculate. The staff also has great chemistry & you see it in the service; they've always been proud of that. The rendang beef is easily my favourite item on the menu. The fried chicken is great, the pork belly bao buns are flawless as usual & the pork ribs are insanely addictive.

Satay Brothers is a must if you ever come to Montreal.

Good to know before you go: We arrived around 7 p.m. on a Thursday, & although the place was absolutely packed, we were seated immediately as a party of two. If you're going with a group, definitely reserve ahead-online reservations seem to be available only for parties of six or more.

The vibe is fun & energetic, but it's very loud. Between the music & everyone talking, it's not the ideal place for a catch-up or a date where you want to have a conversation.

I had the lamb korma with jasmine rice. The portion was just right, & the food was good, but it wasn't particularly memorable. Next time, I'd skip the curry & try one of their signature Southeast Asian dishes instead.

C'était notre troisième fois dans ce restaurant & la nourriture était excellente comme d' habitude mais cette fois ci nous étions un groupe de 7 personnes & nous devions prendre le menu obligatoire de dégustation & les quantités étaient vraiment insuffisante.

Great little hole in the wall with delicious food. Loved the noodles . My only complaint is that the Satay, which the restaurant is named after are about half the size of a normal satay at any other restaurants.

Leur réputation est déjà faite & méritée. Belle déco, plats superbement exécutés & service pro. Bref une réussite. Je recommande.

Worst Kolo mee soup ever. The broth was pure salt. They never warned us that you shouldn't pour the broth into the dish, leaving us with zero instructions. The noodles were advertised as sweet, but they turned out to be the saltiest noodles I've ever had in my life. The broth was absolutely disgusting, tasted like boiled socks. 💀💀

Décoration soignée, serveurs à l'écoute des besoins des clients & serviables cependant certains plats sont mal assaisonnés (beaucoup trop salés).
