About

Sabrosa serves a focused selection of Latin American and Mexican culinary staples with a distinct emphasis on fresh coastal flavors. The menu highlights seasoned proteins paired with vibrant salsas, hand-pressed corn tortillas, and citrus-forward marinades that define regional seafood preparations. Diners encounter a variety of grilled fish dishes featuring bold spices and traditional garnishes that prioritize ingredient integrity. The interior aesthetic reflects a rustic coastal influence, utilizing natural textures and an open layout that centers on the preparation area. Each dish emphasizes the balance between charred savory elements and crisp, acidic components common to pan-Latin cooking traditions. This establishment provides a direct approach to high-quality ingredients by concentrating on foundational cooking techniques and authentic flavor profiles that characterize the diverse maritime coastlines of the Americas.

Review Summary

Sabrosa is a popular restaurant located in the heart of Old Montreal, widely appreciated for its vibrant atmosphere and authentic Latin-inspired dishes. Many diners rave about the flavorful tacos, particularly the birria and al pastor varieties, as well as the fresh ceviche and guacamole. While the majority of guests enjoy the attentive service and the beautiful, historic setting of the venue, some visitors have noted inconsistencies with wait times, portion sizes, or occasional issues with the quality of certain side dishes. Despite mixed feedback regarding pricing and the pace of service, the restaurant remains a frequent recommendation for those seeking a lively dining experience with flavorful, well-presented food.

Average food, bland taste, everything stuffed with mushroom in the name of vegan, even french fries were soggy & oily! Won't recommend.

The atmosphere was great as we got there before the crowds started. We got the blood orange (fruit varies) bellinis, cheese omelette & the cinnamon pancakes. They food was very good, but the pancakes were a little tough. Overall a great brunch.

We ate from Montreal & normally we won't go to places full of tourists. HOWEVER, the tacos & salads we had were absolutely delishes & plentiful.
We will be back & recommend your restaurant to our friends.
Kudos to the chef & the delightful staff ❤?

Best Dominican food I had in Canada, I will definitely recommend to any one going to Montreal, the server was really nice & spoke in Spanish to us, which was really nice of her as we come from latin America. Merci pour votre bonne cuisine! Le chef est une étoile.

Near Maison Rasco, at the heart of Old Montreal, Sabrosa offers tasty south american leaning seafood oriented fare at reasonable prices. The quality & taste exceed nearby tourist attractions by a huge margin. I was especially disappointed at the'garden lounge' across the street. We ordered Ceviche, Tuna something, beans & rice, & fish tacos, which came with a gluten free corn option by default. Everything was quite tasty. I highly recommend this place if you are here from elsewhere, & staying nearby, or local.

An up vibe Mexican restaurant with an extra sprinkle of World Cup fans mostly commiserating post game. Service was slow but in general a good experience. The menu was surprisingly short for a Mexican restaurant. I think the tequila list was twice as long.
The food was fresh & pretty tasty.

We had the Tacos El Pastor, shrimp ceviche, & guacamole. There are 3 tacos to the plate which is not good value for the price & very oily. The shimp ceviche had maybe 4 or 5 shrimp cut up into pieces. The guacamole was also very small for the price. It was $90 for the 3 dishes & 2 lemonades. The lemonade was very watered down. I would not recommend going here.

The tables are so close together the table beside us was about 12' apart. It was like we were dining with the people beside us.

We didn't get cutlery, nor did the table beside us. The server noticed we didn't have cutlery & commented, but never brought us cutlery. We managed to get someone else to bring us cutlery.
