Sabrosa serves a focused selection of Latin American and Mexican culinary staples with a distinct emphasis on fresh coastal flavors. The menu highlights seasoned proteins paired with vibrant salsas, hand-pressed corn tortillas, and citrus-forward marinades that define regional seafood preparations. Diners encounter a variety of grilled fish dishes featuring bold spices and traditional garnishes that prioritize ingredient integrity. The interior aesthetic reflects a rustic coastal influence, utilizing natural textures and an open layout that centers on the preparation area. Each dish emphasizes the balance between charred savory elements and crisp, acidic components common to pan-Latin cooking traditions. This establishment provides a direct approach to high-quality ingredients by concentrating on foundational cooking techniques and authentic flavor profiles that characterize the diverse maritime coastlines of the Americas.
Sabrosa offers a vibrant and welcoming atmosphere in the heart of Old Montreal, making it a popular destination for those seeking fresh, flavorful Latin-inspired cuisine. Many diners highlight the excellent quality of the tacos, particularly the birria and al pastor, as well as the refreshing ceviche and creative presentations of dishes like avocado toast. The restaurant features a beautiful, chic decor and a lively patio that is perfect for people-watching. While service experiences can occasionally vary due to the restaurant being consistently busy, many patrons praise the staff for being friendly, attentive, and professional. Despite some mixed feedback regarding portion sizes or cocktail pricing, the overall consensus is that this restaurant provides a memorable and enjoyable dining experience that stands out as a quality choice in a tourist-heavy area.
Calamari was good, tacos were okay. If you want authentic food this isn't the place for it. Great service though & location is perfect for a night out.
I recently dined at this restaurant & was thoroughly impressed. The food was delicious, bursting with flavor & creativity. The drinks were a standout, offering a unique twist that perfectly complemented the meal. Service was exceptional; the staff was attentive, friendly, & knowledgeable, making the dining experience even more enjoyable. Overall, it's a fantastic spot for anyone looking to indulge in great food & drinks while being well taken care of. Highly recommended!
Great location & outdoor heated patio. Situated right where the tourist area is. The pricing is high as such. Got seated immediately on a Thursday night, although the patio was busy. Birria tacos are fantastic & filled well. Could've used a little more salt though. The corn was also good. Service is good. Overall had a good time.
Food: Despite paying a premium of $23 for three small birria tacos, the meat was dry & flavorless, & the accompanying birria dipping sauce lacked both thickness & taste. To make matters worse, we had to request salt to enhance the flavor. Service: The initial service was fast, with our food order taken within 5 minutes. However, the experience quickly deteriorated. A different person brought our food, & we never saw our original server again until we had to flag him down for water. To our surprise, he immediately presented us with the bill instead of addressing our request. He didn't seem very happy to be there or to serve us. I kind of expected this but this restaurant is in a touristic area, where the tourist is paying for over priced food. The least you could do, if the food isn't great, is to provide good service. Lastly, we had an upset stomach for the rest of the day, so there was definitely something going on with that meat they put in the tacos. Will definitely not go back.
Ceviche 100% good Tacos de Birria 100% good Fried tacos 🌮 100% good Excellent food for everyone, I really recommend this restaurant, the stuff is so amazing & courteous. UNO de los mejores restaurantes latinos en Montreal
