Ruby's Café Mtl is portrayed in many reviews as a welcoming, dog friendly spot where pets can dine inside, often with a dedicated dog menu, bowls, and even a small fenced area or dog park outside and sometimes a dog pool, which makes it a favorite for brunch with dogs. The atmosphere is repeatedly described as warm, cozy, and lively, with people appreciating the ambiance and the focus on pets as part of the experience. Food receives mixed notes: many praise the quality and variety for humans and pups, from french toast sticks and grilled cheese to meatballs for dogs, while some meals are described as pricey for the value or not as impressive, and a few visits report underwhelming portions or service missteps. Service is noted as both highly attentive and slow or disorganized on busy days, with stories of forgetfulness and late drinks tempered by reports of friendly staff who go the extra mile during tougher moments. The overall sentiment leans positive, especially for dog lovers seeking a place to eat with their four legged friends, with advice to book ahead, be patient at peak times, and enjoy the kid friendly and pet friendly vibe that Ruby's Café Mtl provides.
I went there with my dog for the first time & i was pleased. Food is good, service also. They even have a small dog park outside for your furry friend to run & play
Ruby Dog Café is such a gem! The brunch menu was delicious, & what makes it extra special is that dogs are welcome to join you inside. The atmosphere is warm & welcoming, & the staff made us feel right at home. My pup had the best time enjoying her pup cake while I enjoyed my meal. It's rare to find a place where both people & pets are treated so well. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a fun & tasty brunch spot with their furry friend!
At Ruby Café, that cozy neighborhood spot where even dogs get their moment of fame (& maybe a bite of your croissant if you look away for half a second 😅).
One of those rare Montreal gems where the coffee's great, the food's homemade, & the vibe's as relaxed as your furry sidekick. #RUBYCAFEMTL #Montreal
Cute place for both humans & their furry family member! Brunch & drinks were pretty good, typical brunch dishes. The Sloppy Dog sandwich & the Morrocan Casserole were tasty. Our dog definitely loved his Woof Meat Balls. He also had his own dishware with water. It's nice to know a place like this has good food so you & your furry member can enjoy a good time together! They also have a little enclosed area out front for your pet to take a toilet break & a run.
Upscale restaurant where pet owners can enjoy a meal with their dogs by their side. The atmosphere is warm & inviting, making it a great spot for both humans & their furry companions. We were pleasantly surprised by how clean the place was-despite being dog-friendly, there was no trace of pet hair anywhere, including in our food. The service was a bit on the slower side, but the quality of the meal made up for it. The clientele here definitely isn't on a budget; we felt like the most broke people there with our Toyota parked among the luxury cars. We ordered two plates & one coffee, with a total bill of $57. One thing that did rub me the wrong way was that the only tip option was 18% & more which almost made me want to leave 0%, Still, it's a great spot if you're looking for a clean, pet-friendly place with good food & a bit of luxury.
I love the concept & the fact that there is also a menu for your furry friends & by default they bring water for them. The place is really nice & all the dishes looked amazing. The only issue I had is that I am a vegetarian & I asked if the dish I wanted could come without any meat. I asked if the meat was already mixed or not because if it was, I would just order something else. They assured me it wasn't & that they would bring me a vegetarian version. However, I found many pieces of meat in my dish. So they either forgot that I asked it to be vegetarian & removed the meat on the spot, or the meat was indeed mixed during prep & they just removed it to make it vegetarian for me. I normally don't even like using the same pan where meat was cooked, so if I had known it would come with meat, I would just have ordered something else. So, my recommendation is if you are a vegetarian, just order something vegetarian from the start.
We visited Ruby Café on a Sunday morning to celebrate our Yorkshire Terrier's first birthday, & it was a fantastic experience! The service was excellent, & the brunch menu, priced around $20 per person, was both reasonable & delicious. We treated our pup to a small pupcake, & they even provided a candle, which was a nice touch. The ambiance is lovely, the place is very clean, & it's clear they care about both their human & furry guests. I highly recommend this spot to other dog owners. Plus, with the Lachine Canal just across the street, it's the perfect place to take your dog for a walk after brunch. We'll definitely be back!

This place is fantastic. There are so many dogs chilling & eating their own food from the menu. Even if you do not own a dog, you can go because everything is better with a dog around you. There is a pool that you can rent by hour & swim with your furry friends. Also the Lachine canal is nearby & you can go for a nice walk after your meal. I truly recommend it. I am sure you will have an enjoyable time.
When the mercury hits close to 40c with humidex & thunderstorms, there's no better place to spend the day with your pooch than at a pet friendly indoor café with plentiful air conditioning! You can tell the servers love furry babies of all sizes & ages while serving delicious coffee to their humans. :)
Great, beautiful place to go to with our furry baby. Unfortunately, the waiting time to get the food is very long. It took us 40 mins to get our food & our coffee, even when we asked to get the coffee first & as soon as it was ready. We had an early reservation & we were the fourth table to get occupied. The two waiters came to take our order & to give us out our food. We paid at the cashier. The coffee & the food was delicious. .
Amazing spaces. Very modern & beautiful. I love the pool for the pups (at an extra cost) & the little shop for doggos. A bit expensive but you definitely see the quality. The experience to come brunch with your furry friend & have them socialize is great. Food was excellent & there is a view inside the kitchen which is beautiful. Definitely recommend. Only disappointed about the opening hours, wish they could be open during the week for study sessions with my pup.
Very cute place to go with your furry friend... or not! The food presentation is like art here! The ambience, with all the furry friends, it's sooo charming 🤩😍😍. The only thing, i found my burger to be a bit salty & wish it had more veggies but this is personal.
