I have not been here in years & heard the crew left & went to ma poule mouillée years ago & that's exactly it. Ramados use to be decadent in flavors & the fries were spectacular. I went today for a chicken sandwich with fries & I was actually disappointed. The salad is exactly like MA poule with the small portions & hardly any sauce. I don't eat at restaurants much as I love to cook . For the 1 time I wanted to treat myself . It was good but nothing to rave about anymore . Service was nice I have to say .View more

The chicken & pork sandwiches are quite good, ask for extra sauce as the great buns need that! The chorizo is a bit dry as they usually are not done to order, just sliced at the counter. The fries, well usually you get enough with one sandwich to share! Price point is great for the area but often find sitting in quite cold.View more

Been a while that I haven't went back to the Montreal institution. Since Covid-19 & the opening of poule mouille. I must say, this is as good as the later ! The chicken was juicy & flavourful. Portion is huge & the piri piri sauce: we can literally taste the beer ! A must!!!View more

Delicious! I ordered spicy chicken sandwich & fries for myself & everything was amazing! The spicy chicken sandwich was pretty normal (though they do put the spicy sauce on the bread so be aware of that) but the fries was where it truly shined! The fries had a waxy & salty flavor with a sweet undertone & it was the best that I ever had. I finished all the fries in one sitting! Will come back!View more

Great spot for grilled Portuguese chicken! The chicken was juicy & flavorful, & the chicken sandwich was equally delicious. Their spicy sauce added a perfect kick, though the rice could use more seasoning. Overall, a solid place for a tasty, casual meal!View more

Visited here after several years & found the chicken to be completely tasteless. Used to be way better in the past. Please season the chicken before grilling. Even though I got the spicy one that just meant putting some sauce on top of a bland grilled chicken unfortunately & sauce didn't taste like much.View more

The portions? Ungodly. Genuinely multiple meals worth of food. The poutine? Incredible! I got the Romados Poutine & it was the best I've had in Montreal (great quantity of everything & an amazing piri piri sauce drizzled on top). The people? So kind! I recently visited this restaurant & tried their Portuguese roast chicken, which was amazing! The roast chicken had a crispy skin, tender & juicy meat, & every bite was full of rich spices & unique roasted flavor. The marinating & roasting of the chicken were just right. The restaurant environment is also very comfortable, & the waiter was friendly & enthusiastic, recommending several Portuguese sauces & side dishes that were perfect with the roast chicken. After the meal, we also enjoyed their special dessert, which was a perfect end to the whole dining experience. Overall, this dining experience was very satisfying & highly recommended to friends who like Portuguese food. Will definitely come back!View more

This place is awesome! Portions are great & make the prices worthwhile - & this is something I am usually very critical of. Best piri piri sauce I've tasted in Montreal so far. They have some nice baked goods also. Service is quick but good quality. Only thing about this place is that there is not adequate seating.View more

Peuple de Montréal, réjouissez-vous ! Il existe encore des havres gastronomiques où se régaler à 20 $ ou moins. Un généreux « plat deux viandes » composé de poulet (viande blanche & brune) & d'un chorizo, accompagné d'un tapis de frites & d'une salade délicieusement imprégnée de vinaigrette auquel on ajoute volontiers un renversant sandwich bifana à 8 $ a la puissance de combler une paire d'estomacs homme-femme de taille moyenne. Moi-même qui a la réputation d'avoir un estomac d'une flexibilité phénoménale n'a pas eu l'appétit pour finir mes frites. (En fait, elles manquaient un peu de saveur, sauf lorsqu'elle était baignée de sauce Piri-Piri ! Demandez donc à ce qu'on les arrose généreusement). Un moelleux pastel de nata a tout de même trouvé son chemin jusqu'à ma bouche ! Faim pas faim, il faut en essayer un. L'exécution est rapide & le service (offert en espagnol, langue de travail du jour !), affable. Aussitôt commandé, aussitôt servi. La plupart des clients prenaient leurs boîtes pour emporter, mais le local disposait tout de même d'une vingtaine de places pour ceux qui préféraient s'y arrêter (comme nous). L'agencement vise donc surtout à permettre une circulation efficace des visiteurs pour en maximiser le volume sans toutefois, faire de compromis sur la qualité. Je pense que c'est à peu près tout ce que j'ai trouvé à dire de pertinent ou d'intéressant. Malgré les expressions colorées qui parsèment mon texte, je prends conscience que je livre ici une critique plutôt pondérée, un peu détachée émotionnellement. La véritable richesse de mon expérience ne réside pas seulement dans les saveurs du Romados, mais plutôt dans la présence de ma merveilleuse alliée, compagne de tous les dimanches, qui transforme chaque lieu & chaque moment en quelque chose d'exceptionnel. Que chacun puisse avoir une telle amie sincère & gentille dans sa vie. D'ailleurs, à ma droite, un duo de jeunes étudiants, lui francophone, elle anglophone, badinait dans la langue de Molière avec des sourires complices & affichait la candeur & la fraîcheur caractéristiques d'un rapport naissant. Parce que, oui, le Romados offre non seulement la possibilité de savourer des classiques portugais à petit prix, mais aussi de le faire dans un cadre joli & agréable.View more

Fast service but missing some napkins & utensils we had to ask. The price of the chicken & fries was great value but the sauce I asked as extra they added was cold & different taste & did not mix well together. The natas were pretty good.View more

Honestly, the staff were nice. I really didn't like the food because it was really oily & didn't seem healthy to me but the portion was big. The salad was good. The weird thing was that they were using painting brush for sauce brush. I don't know if it is hygienic 🙁View more

This place is fantastic I've been going for years. I came here 8pm on a Wednesday. They had seats available. The service at the counter & the cash was quick & polite.
I got the ramados poutine which is absolutely delicious. It's really savory amd I got the spicy sauce which isn't hot spicy but spices spicy. Really flavorful. The chiken inside the poutine was really tender & melts like butter.
I've been going for years & I'm not about to stop coming.View more
