The chicken was tender & delicious. Fresh cut fries. Fast & friendly service, to boot! I highly recommend this restaurant.View more
I have not been here in years & heard the crew left & went to ma poule mouillée years ago & that's exactly it. Ramados use to be decadent in flavors & the fries were spectacular. I went today for a chicken sandwich with fries & I was actually disappointed. The salad is exactly like MA poule with the small portions & hardly any sauce. I don't eat at restaurants much as I love to cook . For the 1 time I wanted to treat myself . It was good but nothing to rave about anymore . Service was nice I have to say .View more
The chicken & pork sandwiches are quite good, ask for extra sauce as the great buns need that! The chorizo is a bit dry as they usually are not done to order, just sliced at the counter. The fries, well usually you get enough with one sandwich to share! Price point is great for the area but often find sitting in quite cold.View more
Huge portions & amazing food. Highly recommend the Chicken poutine, chicken & fries, the egg tart & the tiramisu.View more
Ok, so you know, it is 5 stars for the food, the 4 stars have nothing to do with the food.
A staple in Montreal since Fernando Machado opened Romados in 1994. George Karaglanis & Vicki Eliopoulos took over Romados, a Portuguese chicken restaurant in from the Machado family in 2021.
This place has character, history, tradition, pride, & has become a staple in the Montreal foodservice scene akin to Schwartz's on the Main.
They have been pumping out some of the best Portuguese rotisserie chicken in the city, & whenever I am hungry & in the area I end up having an impulsive meal filled with perfectly home made french fries & succulent chicken that rivals any competitor. To not eat here is a restaurant experience sin!
Atmosphere is nothing to speak of & service is pretty good given the (what always seems like) a constant line of people rushing to eat.
Go, eat, enjoy, & tell me I am wrong - I dare you.View more
Casual restaurant specializing in Portuguese-style rotisserie chicken, fries & pasteis de nata. I tagged along with a meat eater; there weren't many vegan options for me other than fries & a side salad.View more
Delicious! I ordered spicy chicken sandwich & fries for myself & everything was amazing! The spicy chicken sandwich was pretty normal (though they do put the spicy sauce on the bread so be aware of that) but the fries was where it truly shined! The fries had a waxy & salty flavor with a sweet undertone & it was the best that I ever had. I finished all the fries in one sitting! Will come back!View more
Good chicken. Tasty fries. We got the family meal, the salad was very good too. I highly recommend!View more
Effective & satisfying, the french fries are on the oily sideView more
Good bang for your buck. They give a lot of fries, a reasonable amount of meat, & a salad for around 17$ It tastes light but the more you eat, the saltier it gets. Not a lot of people sitting in the restaurant but theres a constant roll of in & outs. Good place to visit.View more
Been missing Romados when COVID hit us all. Went today after more than 3 years. No line-up?! Well, i can say why... there's nothing good anymore of the "old" Romados. Here we get some generic grilled chicken that doesn't have the distinctive charcoal & piri piri taste. Gone. The rice was hard & tasteless as the chicken. The poutine (regular) was tasty (brown gravy!) but little to no cheese curds. Only redeeming thing is fries are still good & service is good also. I gotta say this but even St-Hu... piri-piri chicken taste way better than the now Romados. Will not be going back anymore. RIP Romados. Sad but true.View more
Got to be one of my favorite chicken in Montréal. The fries are really great too, great price friendly service.View more
Fast service but missing some napkins & utensils we had to ask. The price of the chicken & fries was great value but the sauce I asked as extra they added was cold & different taste & did not mix well together. The natas were pretty good.View more
Used to be amazing but everytime I've ordered a poutine recently the fries have been stale & old & super dry because all the sauce was only on the top & too cold :( it's a shame it used to be my favoriteView more
