Display Allchicken(91) nata(45) potatoes(37) sandwich(34) sauce(22) portuguese(22) pastel de nata(19) pastel(19) salad(18)I can only speak for the Pastel De Nata but oh my goodness these things were gooey, hot & flakey & downright absurdly good. The service was sweet & they let us sit in their patio when we only bought one thing. Very friendly & the place smelled delicious so definitely worth some trying of the food tooView more
Best natas I've ever tasted in my life! Heavenly!View more
The pastel de nata was the best I've ever had! Many claim to have « the best » but they don't compare!View more
I have been going to cocorico for almost 20 years & it's still the best place in Montréal For some of the most tender three Portuguese chicken in the city.
Service has always been absolutely friendly above & be on the call of duty. & half an hour before closing, I went in to have a chicken sandwich special - I never felt rushed, & the food was so fresh & so very hot. The chicken sandwich on a fresh roll, with extra sauce - medium, not too spicy, the home potatoes, & creamy coleslaw is my comfort food. I feel bad for the people who had ordered takeout & felt they were short changed, but I've made it a point to eat at the restaurant, & I've always had overstuffed buns with moist chicken breast & crispy skin. The Natas deserve a whole other review on their own - but just this to say, if you feel like you too hungry, take six of them to go - & your night will be complete :) I got to chat with one of the co-owners - who was a delight, bubbly & friendly, & we went down memory lane talking about how being a kid in the 1970s was such a privilege & so much fun. So that's how I ended my night with a full & happy belly & some wonderful shared laughter.
As much as I love Schwartz's, I say skip the lineup & walk up the street to Coco Rico. You'll be happy you did :)View more
I know this place has a lot of food on the menu but the only thing we tried were the Pastel de Nata. Wow Delicious & they could definitely compete with the one we ate in Portugal. Highly recommended!View more
Les meilleures natas en ville!! Le personnel est accueillant, serviable & souriant ce fut un réel plaisir ça vaut le détour !!!View more
The best place to experience the authentic taste of barbecued pork, lamb, or chicken. A cozy atmosphere, friendly staff, &, most importantly, the warm & welcoming attitude of the Portuguese owner made our day. Don't forget to try their famous Portuguese dessert, pastel de nata, which is arguably the best you can find in Montreal. Highly recommended!View more
Wonderful Family Business with a heartwarming atmosphere. The owner is absolutely amazing! Pastel de Nata- best in town, poutain (very large portions)- wonderful! It's perfect for a quick dinner, they offer chicken & salads on the side, also portugeese bread. 10/10!View more
The best chicken sandwich. Ask for a side of spicy sauce. Pastel de nata are also excellentView more
Walked 50 minutes to visit Coco Rico. Definitely worth the walk. The staff was very nice. The poutine was amazing because of the juicy chicken! The Pastel de Nata was also very good! Had 3 all to myself!View more
Holy frick this place is good! Best Nata cake outside of Portugal! Chorizo & wings were also delicious. Definitely will go back. Staff was super friendly & helpful & eager to help.View more
Really juicy & flavourful roast chicken & the natas were so good too with cinnamon sugar!! The highlight was getting to chat with the warm, friendly owner lady who made the whole dining experience so much better!!! Will definitely go back on next visit to Montreal!!View more
A little gem in little Portugal. Great sandwiches, simple, traditional, tasty. A variety of salad choices, bread, pastel de Nata. I like to come here when I am really hungry (after the gym), for the food, the affordability, the friendliness, & the typical cosmopolitan St Laurent ambiance. The staff speaks 3 or more languages.View more
Great Portuguese fast food. I've been going there for 35 years. It's the same good roasting chicken dripping on the potatoes you see roasting in the oven machines. Everything is delicious & they have the best natas. I always take a sandwich, I ask to add a red pepper & some smashed roasted potatoes with the sauce & épices.View more
Best Portuguese place in MTL, the chicken is well seasoned & the natas are to die for.View more
This is a staple on the Main for decades. This place has been producing some of the best ribs, rotisserie chicken, sausage, roasted potatoes as well as sides such as their amazing Cole slaws & salads. This is a restaurant that's not about eating in with table service & such. It's mostly about take out & having a quick bite at the stool counter while people line up to order food. The displays show enticing yummy food while you wait to be served & by the time it's your time to order, you now want a little of everything! I have had everything here, but I have to say that one absolute MUST is their Nata pastry. These are made fresh & usually still warm in their display leaving the pastry crust light & flaky & the filling (an egg custard like filling) smooth & creamy. I doubt you can only eat one - I certainly can't. So to the food. Ribs: large & meaty pork ribs are perfectly cooked & seasoned. Chicken: rotisserie is fantastic juicy & skin nicely crisp. Their chicken sandwich is near perfection for a simple light fluffy fresh bun filled with fresh chicken, allowing the chicken to be the star of the meal & it was fantastic. Roasted potatoes: perfectly seasoned & cooked perfectly such that they are creamy inside & slightly crisp on the outside. Sausage: not overtly hot nor spicy, however as you begin to swallow you can feel a low warm heat develop & it's just right. They are cooked well such that the casing is nice & snappy crisp. It's a very densely packed sausage & very firm. Roasted lamb & pork: scrumptious.View more
Natas are to die for! & that chicken sandwich is also excellent. You have to try this place, it's worth it!View more
We were going often before having kids. We rediscovered Coco Rico now that our kids are preteens, & our meat lover son adores eating here. The chicken sandwich is as good as we remember & always leave a little room for pasteis de natas to finish a fun & delicious meal.View more
Montreal's best kept Portuguese secret, hidden in plain view. To all of you lined up for Schwartz' (blocking the entrance to Coco Rico): ever wonder where the delicious smells are coming from? It isn't from the smoked meat. Coco Rico has the best, juiciest & most flavourful pork, chicken & chourico sandwiches in the city. Potatoes roasted with the juices from the meats. Delicious breads, even the day-old ones are worth the drive. & don't leave without a six pack of natas. Been eating here for 40 years - hope to keep doing so for another 40!View more
Delicious chicken poutine, potatoes, & natas. The owner is friendly as well.View more
fantastic pastei de nata. ask for the warm ones for that extra crisp flaky pastry & sprinkle cinnamon if you're into that!View more
En plus d'être la première rôtisserie portugaise de Montréal c'est la meilleure ! Poulet fondant & juteux. Frites & pommes de terre maison, Natas ... divine ! Personnel très gentil! On m'a même raconté l'histoire & l'origine du lieu ! Bref je recommande à 100% ! Ah oui en plus c'est pas cher ;)View more
We bought pastel de Nata. It was still warm & OMG delicious. This dessert is coming from heaven.View more
The pastel de nata was the best I've had since visiting Portugal. I would share a picture, but it disappeared too quickly.View more
