Resto Keela offers a lively yet welcoming vibe with consistently tasty dishes and generous portions, from Cornish Hen and pesto with garlic to octopus, scallops, and a standout oyster lineup, plus burgers, steaks, garlic knots, and bread with hummus; the cocktails and wine receive praise as well. Live music on Fridays adds to the atmosphere, and service is frequently described as attentive and friendly, though a few visits mention slower pacing when the venue is busy. Across many reviews, the place is seen as a neighborhood gem with inventive, well executed dishes, excellent celery root carpaccio, and strong flavors across the menu, and many guests say they would happily return, even as some note high prices, occasional service gaps, or limited accessibility.
Amazing strawberry mocktail & juicy burger!. Best of all was the garlic knots with the onion truffle sauce!! It was the best I've ever had & I am a very picky eater!! My server was very lovely & she reccomended that I try the sauce!!
The oysters are fresh & the vinegar sauce fits perfectly. Definetly the best filet mignon we've had in a long time! The service is great & I would 100% recommend this place.
It's a low key restaurant with live performance when we were there. The wait staff was very friendly & helpful & the food was great. We had the rigatoni special, chicken with verde sauce, side Caesar side & grill shrimp appetizer.
My friend said the shrimp was the best he ever had. The side salad was delicious & the portion was huge. The rigatoni & the chicken were both great.
One of the best fillet mignon ever! The sauce was fantastic & those fries 😍 The dessert was also soooo good & I believe it was made in house? The service was also really good & the whole place has such a great vibe! Will definitely come back to Keela when we visit Montreal again!
We are first timers in Montreal & so glad to have dined at Keela last night. Friendly greeting by our host who was very helpful with the menu. Wine list is extensive. We had the roasted shrimp in a spectacular garlic butter spice sauce. Also their celery root carpaccio is a must have signature dish. Beautiful presentation & delicious. For our mains the monkfish special & filet steak frites. Wonderful peppercorn sauce. Fries were so good with a nice mustard dipping sauce. Too full for dessert! We were very well cared for by the entire service team. Keela is a special place! We can't wait to return!

The very best dining experience - the food is simply a cut above. The filet mignon with peppercorn sauce - the best I've ever tasted. & the home made ice cream- fabulous!
Harland ( excuse the spelling) was A1 from the moment we walked in until we walked out, impeccable service & special shoutout to the shrimp appetizer the sauce that came with it was delicious & the shrimps were cooked well not chewy at all just perfect texture, & the steak cooked just how i like it! all in all a very good experience will definitely recommend & come back
Reservation for 3, early in the evening. Good ambience, with classic small casual bistro feel (no tablecloths).
Oysters were promptly served & shucked, complemented by a couple of nice house made sauces. (Oyster prices can’t be beat on Tuesday, $1 per)
Main dishes consisted of the Keela burger & the pork.
The burger was good, served medium, but the meat seemed kind of stiff. The frites were also good but not great, they were a bit tough to chew. The dip provided was a dijon mayonnaise. Why is it that casse croûte places have better fries than bistros in Montreal?
The pork was a bit strange; it is served in a wine sauce with mushrooms. The sauce wasn’t thick enough & the pork was, like the burger, a little stiff. It is also strange that no carbohydrate is served with the pork, just a piece of meat swimming in a sauce with mushrooms. It felt unfinished.
Also, it took an hour for our main courses to come out- that’s a bit too long for the simple items we ordered, & considering there was nobody in the restaurant at the time we ordered.
That being said, the gentleman who lit the table candle & kept our glasses of water full was a delight!
Dessert was London Fog ice cream — it was good but not worth the price.
Also, & this is purely my opinion, but bread & butter should be served in bistros; it would have been nice with the oysters. (I’ve had their garlic knots prior, which were good, but I’m talking about baguette)
This is a must. Best food in the area & really good for a date. Ask for the oysters as they’re not on the menu. Their home made oyster sauce is so good. The morning hen was baked to order & to perfection.

Bonne bouffe, belle ambiance, & superbe service!
