Restaurant Solymar Montreal se distingue par une expérience péruvienne conviviale et généreuse, avec un menu très varié qui invite au partage et à la découverte de saveurs authentiques. Les ceviches et les fruits de mer obtiennent souvent d'excellentes notes, le chupe et la jalea peuvent être particulièrement réussis et le lomo saltado est apprécié quand il est bien cuit. Les portions généreuses, une ambiance latine et un service attentif créent une atmosphère chaleureuse et festive, avec une belle énergie en salle et parfois une note plus élevée sur les prix qui reste justifiée par la qualité. Des améliorations sont perceptibles et l'ensemble donne envie de revenir pour explorer d'autres plats.
Avec ou sans réservation. 2 étages. Plats super généreux. Bières en pichet disponibles. Pour petit ou grand groupes. Si vous aimez le steak grillé vous serez comblé ( 16 Oz ).
Pretty average food if you ask me. Service was below par: our appetizers were served at the same time because there was a " rush " at the kitchen. Restaurant was 80% empty! My house salad had half-cooked carrots in it & a piece of tomato that was so green I'm pretty sure it was harvested while still blooming. There's a language barrier with the waiters, which I don't mind but they seem to barely understand what are some items on the menu. Ordered a Tom Collins as a drink & was served a pretty dull gin & tonic. Waiter came to present the dessert tray & ended up serving us the actual desserts from the tray, which has been wrapped in plastic film for a long time.
Amazing restaurant to taste Peruvian sea food & barbecue meat. People are welcoming. Excellent client service provided by waitress. I recommend Soly Mar foods.
Tenemos casi 20 anos en la provincia. 10 en Montreal y 10 en la ville de Quebec. Desde siempre hemos conocido como el rest.bandera peruano(de mi tierra) es Sol y Mar. Hemos ido ayer despues de mucho tiempo y con pena vemos que la infraestructura del restaurant se deteriora enormemente al punto que a pesar de que la comida y el servicio es magnifico comer ahi no resulta agradable. Valdria la pena que el dueno invierta un poco en renovar el techo por que da la impresion que en cualquier momento se te va a caer encima. Ojala lea mi comentario y la proxima vez este en mejores condiciones. La comida un 7 y el mozo un 10.
Delicious! The ceviche was fresh & tasty with big chunks of fish. The jalea was huge! Definitely a plate to share. The service was ok, a little slow but still good. Good place for families & groups.
The food was too expensive. We took ceviche, fried seafood, two beers & the bill was 100$! The food was okay, but for the price not worth it. Ceviche fish, the fried seafood didn't seem freshly made! The quantity was generous, but I wouldn't pay this much for food not feeling good enough. On top, we had to wait for like 30 minutes when it wasn't even busy.
This place is always so delicious. Today, we had a bigger group & Eduardo was so patient woth our orders. Everybody else is also nice!! Thank you so much.
WOW! Was this just an off day ? This is not the same Peruvian cuisine that we loved so much. Sorry to say, but the magic is gone. My medium rare Rib steak had some OK areas, but most was tough & over-cooked! Wife's Mussels were so small, that actually there was nothing to eat! The $21 ceviche (we thought it was as an appetizer) was actually a cup of "Tiger's milk" with a few pieces of fish. Very disappointed to pay $100 for this & walk away still hungry. Not recommended !
