The restaurant has a great atmosphere - cozy & welcoming. service is excellent, clay pot rice is absolutely delicious, with perfectly cooked rice & crispy bits at the bottom. The dumplings are also tasty & fresh. Highly recommend!
Amazing food! Had the mushroom claypot rice, which was delicious. Added a tiny bit of soy sauce & a lot of chili oil for more oomph. Turns out, the kitchen is super accommodating that they take allergies & other dietary considerations to account.
E.g. if you want your Dan Dan mien to be vegetarian, they'll remove the pork & add more veggies!
Definitely a must-visit. New menu doesn't disappoint.
Delicious food, friendly service, clean & comfortable space. Would definitely return to try more of the menu.
My newest find for amazing Chinese food! This is truly a gem for Chinese food & we need more of these in Montreal!
We came here 3 times & I can def say the food was delicious & fresh. Hats off to the chef owner because the Clay pot dishes, Hainan chicken & DanDan noodles were better than many many places I've been to all over the place.
I def recommend this place for great Chinese food.
The'Mouth Watering chicken' (cold dish) is the perfect dish to start off with. Then you can try the Dandan noodles & clay pots. Hainan chicken is very hard to find a good place & this place hits the spot for very good!
Expect to see me here often !
One thing they can improve on is the ordering. out of the 3 times I was here, first time the waiter complelty forgot to order the clay pot, second time got the wrong clay pot order.
still a 5 stars for me!
We've been here maybe 5 times already & loved it each time. The mouth watering chicken & century eggs are always my go to apps. I really like the clay pot rice dishes too. The new hainanese chicken is so good, & the braised beef dishes too!
Very authentic Cantonese food. Claypot rice is SO good! Nice service too. Seafood spring roll is a must try. Wonton soup is a must have. Freshly homemade…
Different Chinese food. Nothing typical about this place. Spicy tripe & pig ears.
Absolutely outstanding dining experience at Restaurant Pinophyta. From the moment we walked in, the staff made us feel welcome & cared for. Our server deserves special praise. They took the time to patiently explain each section, every dish, & even gave thoughtful recommendations without ever making us feel rushed. That kind of attention, knowledge, & genuine enthusiasm is rare, & it turned the whole evening into something special.
The food? Nothing short of incredible. The dumplings were tender & bursting with flavor, the noodles perfectly balanced, the clay pot rice, was rich & fragrant with that amazing crispy bottom layer, & the Dream Chicken lived up to its name. Truly unforgettable. Every dish felt crafted with care & delivered with pride.
The service, food, & staff were exceptional in every way. This restaurant doesn't just serve dinner, it delivers an experience. They deserve every bit of praise, & I can't wait to return.
The food was amazing. Great quality & very fresh. Service was very friendly. Definitely recommend & will come back.
Nourriture excellente! Service incroyable.
Nous allons souvent dîner à cet endroit avec les collègues & nous sommes toujours ravis !!
Rice tasted so artificial along with the shrimp. Dumplings were good but I can't really over look how the rice tasted. Service was good.
We were a big group went upstairs. The atmosphere was nice & service was great.
Food was fresh & delicious. Definitely worth a try. Our server was very good.
The code may have bugs, but the taste of this restaurant will not !
When I was a kid, the streets of Canton were lined with rows of fragrant clay pot rice sizzling outside of the food stalls, drizzled with oil & a special soy sauce. Just walking by ,it would make your mouth water. The chef would fan the stove while tilting the pot to ensure even heating…
In the downtown, Pinophyta uses a cast iron pot to cook the rice from top to bottom, resulting in a perfect crusty bottom without sticking to the pot. However, compared to Canton's clay pot rice, it lacks that charred flavor.
But I still finish a whole pot !
