I think I had a too high of expectation on the clay pot rice… food was overall decent but nothing stood out for me unfortunately. The serving was really quick though which was rather shocking cause I would assume it takes a bit more time which is probably why the rice wasn't hot enough…

very authentic chinese cuisine, their cold chicken appetizers has a fair amount of chicken considering the price of the dish. we also ordered their scullion oil noodle, the noodles were sticking together & the dish was cold when delivered. despite the coldness of the dish everything was good. recommend the chili oil wonton, very nice taste & the filling was very tasty. would come back again!
We are returning! A top place for noodles, dumplings, chicken rice/dishes, & amuse bouche appetizers. Don't forget to try their speciality plum juice! Well done team with friendly service 👍🏻👍🏻
Don't know how authentic their Hainanese chicken is, but it tasted unbelievably bland. Would not recommend if you're looking for a flavorful experience.

Stopped by here with my lady for a quick lunch & it was perfect! Not too pricy, looks very nice, & the food came out quick!! We both got rice bowls & they fill you up - I have a black hole for a stomach so that was an important factor for me.

This is a hidden gem. The food is wonderful - you have a great selection of northern & southern Chinese food - & it's very delicious. Terracotta rice / clay pot rice is just like what you can get in Hong Kong. We arrived at around 12:40PM on a Friday & the food was served quite quickly. Reasonable portion for a reasonable price, I would even say it's a bargain because how delicious it was. Restaurant is very clean & staff is very nice. I would definitely come back here again.
Les wontons sont excellents. Les rouleaux également.
Boeuf braisé pas bon. La saveur ok, mais la moitié du plat est du gras, des tendons & des bouts croquants. Un boeuf braisé devrait être tendre .... sans tous les bouts pas très mangeables.

Interesting menu, a bit on the expensive side but given the location - makes sense. Would like to come back & be more adventurous - try the intestines. The potato appetizer was super refreshing had only heard about it from people travelling near Tibet - finally tried it here.
Excellent repas dans une ambiance chaleureuse & familiale. La soupe wonton & les oeufs centenaires ont été nos coups de coeur, suivi de près par le poulet salivant & les dumplings aux arachides. Le personnel était attentionné & souriant. Tout ça pour un prix très abordable! Je recommande & je reviendrai!!
Superbe expérience. Nous y sommes allés pour ma fête. Un des rares restaurant à faire le hainanese chicken un peu comme ce que j'ai déjà gouté à singapour. Resto très authentique & fidèle selon ce que j'ai ressenti. Nous avons été très bien accueilli & le service était bon. Peut toujours s'améliorer au niveau des portions d'où le 4 étoiles & non 5. Mais sinon j'ai beaucoup aimé.
A real find thanks to Evanvanyamtl on TikTok. The Mini wontons aux crevettes à la cantonaise soup was delicious, as was the Sago au lait de coco & mangue for dessert. The establishment is spotless. The service was excellent. Pinphyta is a short walk down Union Avenue from St. Catherine Street.
We had a fantastic time at this restaurant while visiting Montreal. The food was amazing definitely not your average dining experience, but something even better. Daniel served us & gave excellent recommendations from the menu, which made us come back for a second visit during our short trip. If you're in Montreal & looking for a memorable meal, this is the place to go.
