Pichai is widely praised for bold, creative Thai flavors and a shareable, neo-Thai concept that shines in dishes like scallops, pork collar, fermented pork belly, tapioca dumplings, and a memorable Thai tea tiramisu. Several reviews highlight standout plates such as papaya salad, tom yum, and the egg dish that became a showstopper, with many diners calling the flavors authentic, lively, and deeply satisfying. Portions are often described as small for the price, though the quality and variety invite tasting across multiple dishes. Service ranges from impeccable and knowledgeable with excellent wine pairings to rushed or inconsistent, with reports of staff miscommunications and, in some cases, a less welcoming atmosphere. The ambiance is noted as vibrant, cozy, and stylish, sometimes loud, occasionally a bit too dark for reading menus. The menu includes weekly specials and a chef tasting option, with vegan and vegetarian choices appreciated by many. Overall, Pichai stands out as a top Montreal Thai option and a memorable dining experience, worth a visit for those seeking bold flavors, while reservations are advised and expectations should account for occasional service inconsistencies.
Jeudi soir.
Came here as a group of 6 & we had anticipated it to be excellent, in which they delivered. We got the tom yum soup which was good but not our favourite of the night. We got three items from the special menu : egg beef noodles, tofu & tom yum soup. all were good but wish the tofu was more (4 pcs) especially for the price of 15$. Thé noodles were definitely good & a big portion. The top favourite was the Kor Moo Yang, which was very yummy! My friend ordered the curry & the chicken dish (forgot the name) the food very throughly enjoyed but be warned all of the dishes were spicy!! haha
my friends & I are all predominantly asian & quite frankly weren't expecting the high spice level but it was very delicious. One thing i will add which i found odd.. was that we brought in a cake for a birthday celebration & we asked them to refrigerate it & they later told us that there was a 5$ cake fee PER PERSON. That was quite a shock to us all… seeing how the dishes are a bit pricey with tax plus tip we thought this was kinda ridiculous… wish they would remove it or mention it somewhere accessible or visible. Besides that the atmosphere was great & our waitress was nice. Food was good but spicy, some dishes are larger than most & some are smaller so best ask your waiter.ess beforehand for descriptions. Overall great but maybe decide wether u wanna bring in a cake or not
One of my favorite restaurants in Montreal, sadly the service last time was impersonable, food not up to the high standards. We tried one of the items on special & couldn't take another bite (it was not good), the waitress didn't care at all even after we told her. It would have been nice to ask some questions at least...

Love pumpui so had to give Pichai a try & it did NOT disappoint. Food was incredible - the scallops & fermented pork were notable standouts. Service was also incredible- thoughtful staff & excellent timing of bringing out each dish. Could not recommend this place enough !!!
Nous avons pris 3 plats à partager (aucun d'eux avec la mention épicée). Pourtant 2 sur 3 étaient tellement 🌶? que très difficilement mangeables… Dommage car sinon super ambiance
you need to go here! the vibes in the restaurant are cozy & retro, & the decor is adorable. their dishes are meant to be shared, & everything was delicious. their waiters were very helpful & sweet, too. i highly recommend pichai!
The worst Tom yum I ever had. I think the chef made mistakes that he added triple of the salt. When I told this to the waitress, she didn't even say sorry about my experience.

My buddy made a reservation for 3 people at 7:30 PM. We ordered drinks, which were enjoyable. Two friends wanted to order the Chef's Specialities, while I preferred to order a la carte. However, the waitress informed us that the entire table must order the Chef's Specialities. This policy seems illogical, especially considering that I could order a la carte if I were dining alone. We left after finishing our drinks. Edit: I modified the rating to 3 stars because the manager called us to apologize & offered us a goodwill gesture.
Unfortunately as other reviews state, I came here with very high expectations from everything I had read & having lived in Thailand I was excited to go to an authentic Isaak place again. We sat at the bar & the service was quite good & we were always taken care off. As it's a sharing style we ordered the scallops which were the only dish we fully enjoyed. From there on the laab, fermented pork & the mushrooms were so so seasoned & salty that we couldn't finish any of those dishes. From the dishes being unbearable after the first few bites we just couldn't taste or eat anymore from just being overwhelmed. The wine selection is great, with European & Canadian natural wine options, so that can keep you entertained. The atmosphere was a bit cold, & the food came too quick which didn't make the experience something special, particularly for the prices that were charging. Felt good to read the reviews here & see I wasn't alone in this.
