This is my go-to for uygur food namely laghman, manty, samsa, & pilov. I normally order a takeout because those are huge portions & it is better eating at home :D
We were never disappointed with quality of food here as everything is delicious & freshly made. I would only note that you have to expect food be spicy... removing spice completely changes dish dramatically...
Excellent Uyghur restaurant with a beautiful & authentic atmosphere. The colorful lamps & decorations make the place feel warm & unique.
I tried the lamb shank with rice, fried laghman noodles & samsa. Everything was fresh & delicious. The lamb was very tender, & the rice portion was huge. The fried laghman was somewhere between Turkish & Chinese cuisine, with handmade noodles & great flavor. The samsa was also excellent & very filling.
The staff were friendly & even offered me a small sample of their traditional Uyghur drink. It tasted like a cold ayran smoothie with a little sweetness from honey. Interesting & refreshing, although I personally still prefer regular ayran.
The restaurant is very clean, quiet & comfortable. It would be a great place to come with family as well. Next time I definitely want to try their kebabs.
Highly recommended!
The food was very good, pretty decor, waiter was polite & had helpful suggestions.
The only thing that was terrible was the wait time for our food. Almost every item we ordered took about 15 minutes in between each to be served, salad, 15, my dish I shared with my family since we were very hungry, 15 more minutes bread, another 10-15 for my daughter's dish & her samsa(?) & drink, 10-15 minutes a brochette came out & my husband's dish was supposed to come out shortly. Took more than 30 minutes. We were close to asking for the cheque since I had finished long before they had any food & my husband was tired of waiting since our daughter was close to finishing also. It finally came out & he enjoyed it but we were not impressed with their timing. Whoever calls the dishes in the kitchen isn't keeping track of who got what for each table, we shouldn't be eating solo. If there was a problem in the kitchen/ delay the staff should have informed us. If the food couldn't be all prepared & served together that also should have been mentioned so we could change our order. If this is their regular way of serving food I'm very surprised anyone would be a repeat customer.
The food may be good but I wouldn't go back for a sit down meal. Was very unpleasant to each eat separately while watching the others have no food.
Pick up would be fine.
Best Uighur restaurant in Montreal area. Sooo delicious if you like samsa, Miran special lagman!!!
We've visited this restaurant several times with the intention of supporting a local, family-owned business. Unfortunately, our recent experiences have been consistently disappointing.
A large portion of the menu is regularly unavailable, & we were told that certain items like the samsa must be ordered in advance. There is no mention of this on the menu or signage-how are customers supposed to know this ahead of time?
More concerning was the poor service. During our last visit, one of the staff (a bald gentleman) was visibly coughing while setting the table, which was unsettling to witness, especially with no visible effort to cover his mouth or sanitize afterward. The owner, who was present, didn't acknowledge the situation or seem to take it seriously.
We genuinely want to support small businesses, but consistent lack of professionalism & disregard for basic hygiene & customer service makes it very difficult to return. We hope the owners take this feedback constructively & make improvements where needed.
Delish food & a beautiful restaurant, service is a bit lacking, they could use an experienced front of house manager. Samsas are my new obsession, great filling & bread!! The Lamb skewers are cooked to perfection with incredible flavor from their unique seasoning, Definitely putting Uyghur food on the map! End the persecution in China!
This is my first time eating Uyghur cuisine it's amazing. Rich flavour, meat is so tender, & the hand pulled noodles samsa & kebab are my favorite The staff is extremely nice & the design of the restaurant is so unique. I highly recommend this restaurant.....
Absolutely phenomenal food - full of flavour & very unique. Better than other Uyger food I've had. We had ordered a bunch but our favourite was lamb kebab skewers, the lamb broth soup, the lamb samsa, the fried hand pulled noodles & the beef hot plate. Decor is also very pretty! The service is friendly & accommodating, a bit slow to come & re-fill the water but otherwise good. We appreciate that we were able to pray! It's also good for large groups. We were around 14-15 people & we sat at one long tables We will keep going back for more InshaAllah
It's sad to learn the original chef is no longer at this restaurant. They use to make the best lamb skews & samsa. The new management is not able to sustain the original quality of food. Our meal came cold & the samsa was not entirely cooked. Again, sad to know the old administration has left, they were truly one of a kind.
