The portions were perfect. My husband had yummy chilaquiles with beef & he thought they were great! Our daughter loved that her chorizo omelette was so cheesy, she liked that her fries were crispy & hot; & she loved the honey melon as part of her fruit side (included on her plate). I had the tampiquena plate which included beef, enchiladas, beans & guacamole. The beef was cooked just right & had delicious onions on it. So juicy & yummy. We will definitely be coming back when we are in Montreal. Thanks so much for the crunchy & sweet bunuelos to top our wonderful meal. 🇲🇽
Really enjoyed my mezcalita, chips & guacamole, & quesabirrias. Friendly attentive service. Though not quite what I expected, I did enjoy the low key French dancepop playlist
We popped in for a quick lunch. The guacamole, enchiladas, & aqua tamarindo were great & Valentina was super nice & gave great menu suggestions.
The food was not bad, but was definitely overpriced. 15$ for about 10 chips & a small portion of guacamole is way too much, especially when the chips were clearly not fresh.
Chorizo fundido was good but again, tiny portion for 18$.
Birria was good.
First off I want to just say that the food is amazing. The guacamole was very good & the tacos I had were great, especially the hot sauce. The margarita I had was also very good. But this was where it stopped.
The menu in this place is just lost. We were told to scan the QR code but then we were also given a different paper menu that was brunch but we couldn't order the dishes that had eggs. Please just make a menu that includes things such Enchiladas etc. along with the taco menu online.
Next, $18 for 3 tacos with no side is a bit steep. They were very good but perhaps some rice & beans to call it a complete meal? Also, $14 for a small amount of guacamole & chips that was smaller than the picture really was disappointing.
My wife & I were part of a big group & we shared the guacamole, each had 3 tacos & had 2 margaritas & our bill was $100. & the worst part is that we left hungry, as most people did at the table.
The service was also a bit disjointed. Most of the people got tacos & from the first main to the last I would say was 20-30 minutes. There were also hot appetizers, nachos, that arrived after the mains.
This place has all the potential to be a great restaurant, they have delicious food, good drinks, & great location, they just need someone who can take it, revise the menu & work on the service/timing.
I recently had the pleasure of dining at 514 on St-Laurent, & I can confidently say-it's one of the best Mexican restaurants in Montreal!
The atmosphere is vibrant & welcoming, the staff are friendly & attentive, & the food… absolutely delicious. From the tacos to the birria, everything was full of authentic flavor & clearly made with love. The guacamole was fresh & zesty, & the margaritas? Let's just say, they know what they're doing!
What really impressed me is that they also offer delivery-& the quality remains just as incredible. Perfect for a cozy night in or when you're hosting friends & want to impress.
It's located on the iconic St-Laurent Boulevard, about a 12-minute drive from Old Montreal. If you're in the city-whether local or visiting-514 should be at the top of your list.
Can't wait to go back.
Highly recommend!
