Terrible experience!
I chose this restaurant to introduce my girlfriend to Mexican culture, & boy, did I regret it.
1. I booked a week in advance, & they lost my reservation, so I had to wait. When I finally got a table, it was incredibly cramped, & the waiters kept bothering us to let them pass.
2. 100 MINUTES!! I waited 100 minutes & never received my food. When I got tired of waiting, I STILL HAD TO WAIT EVEN MORE to pay for my drink.
3. Some people who arrived after me received their food, but from what I could see, I wasn't the only one in this situation.
Why are you receiving so many people if you can't serve them all? I'm giving it one star because I simply can't give it zero.
We chose to try this restaurant because they had a stand down. It smelled really good outside in the street during the month of June when there is the mural festival in San Laurent Street . The advertise said three tacos for $15 with a free soft drink. We should've probably tried this offer , but thinking the qualities is the same if we sat in the terrace, we decided to go by their menu, which was different from their street sell. The terrorist looks nice & with the music festival it had a good vibe to sit there, but the food wasn't tasty/authentic, we weren't served with water nor utensils until way after our food was served, (a waitress, literally passed by our table with a picture of water & looked at the table without serving us water), my tacos was just a very soft tortilla bread & beef. No tomato/onion/cilantros/… anything! The guacamole was like a light green liquid (nothing like real guacamole) & didn't taste good, the nachos we ordered was not hot & the cheese wasn't melted. Looked like they just grated the cheese over some nachos & some randomly salsa sauce & brought right at the table. We added beans as a side dish, & it came cold & tasteless. & to just make this experience even worse, we had to wait so long after we asked for the bill , & it wasn't even crowded. I'm still posting some photos that I took so you wouldn't fall for the appearance of the restaurant. Save yourself time & money & try another Mexican restaurant. Even the chain industrial Mexican restaurant (3 Amigos) comes way better than this. (to be absolutely fair. The only thing good about this dinner. Was there small salad on one of our dishes, which was a simple salad, but ended up as the best part of it, compared to the quality of everything else)
Our family of four had dinner here a few nights ago while visiting from out of town.
The food & flavours definitely tasted very authentic. We were also quite happy with our desserts. We did not order any drinks.
The service is a bit slow however the owner was very lovely, & the food was worth the wait.
We would definitely go back for some authentic Mexican cuisine!
Great flavor & so many options. The owner was around & was very friendly, 100% an authentic Mexican experience!
Drinks are amazing too.
I had a delicious dinner here !!
The chicken flautas were amazing! Perfectly well made. The drinks good as well. The karaoke 🎤 is a plus.
We went for the Coco Immersive Dinner, wow. Throughout the whole service the food & drinks were delicious. Come here with an empty stomach because you leave out of here by rolling through the doo
Stopped for brunch recently. Unfortunately food quality was quite poor that day, & the coffee was awful. Our server seemed unconcerned that we didn't drink our coffee & left most of our brunch uneaten. After we paid & were on the way out the door, a second staff member attempted to offer us'a free margarita' to come back but tbh a reduced bill for our inedible meal would have been more appropriate.
We stopped in for lunch & were welcomed into a beautiful & friendly atmosphere. The food was delicious & the drinks were so refreshing. I recommend!
First off I want to just say that the food is amazing. The guacamole was very good & the tacos I had were great, especially the hot sauce. The margarita I had was also very good. But this was where it stopped.
The menu in this place is just lost. We were told to scan the QR code but then we were also given a different paper menu that was brunch but we couldn't order the dishes that had eggs. Please just make a menu that includes things such Enchiladas etc. along with the taco menu online.
Next, $18 for 3 tacos with no side is a bit steep. They were very good but perhaps some rice & beans to call it a complete meal? Also, $14 for a small amount of guacamole & chips that was smaller than the picture really was disappointing.
My wife & I were part of a big group & we shared the guacamole, each had 3 tacos & had 2 margaritas & our bill was $100. & the worst part is that we left hungry, as most people did at the table.
The service was also a bit disjointed. Most of the people got tacos & from the first main to the last I would say was 20-30 minutes. There were also hot appetizers, nachos, that arrived after the mains.
This place has all the potential to be a great restaurant, they have delicious food, good drinks, & great location, they just need someone who can take it, revise the menu & work on the service/timing.
5 stars!
Le514 is hands down one of the best spots in town for cocktails! Their Margarita is honestly one of the best I've ever had super fresh, perfectly balanced, & not too sweet. The Paloma is amazing too so refreshing & well crafted. You can really taste the quality ingredients & the care they put into every drink. If you're looking for a place with top notch cocktails, Le514 is a must visit. Do yourself a favor & try the Margarita & Paloma!
