L'Avenue is widely celebrated as one of the best brunch destinations in Montreal, known for its vibrant atmosphere, creative menu, and generous portion sizes. While the restaurant frequently experiences long wait times on weekends, the consensus among many patrons is that the experience, characterized by high-quality dishes like the steak and eggs, pistachio French toast, and various Eggs Benedict, is well worth the delay. The service is generally described as friendly, professional, and efficient, though some visitors have noted occasional inconsistencies during peak hours. With a menu that offers both traditional breakfast favorites and unique international-inspired options, the establishment maintains a loyal following, making it a highly recommended spot for those seeking a memorable and flavorful start to their day.
This place never disappoints me! I come to the Mont Royal location every single time I'm in Montreal. Here for the first time recently & it was much bigger & more spacious space - very nice patio & more seating so line moves quickly but there was a long line (somehow I never lined yo before in MR location). Huge menu & I always tried different things every time, they are consistently good & is no-fail recommendation for everyone I know, only ever received compliments about this place. Service might take a bit time but staff are friendly, know their menu & attentive. Nothing else to say I love this place! Hope they open more location in Toronto because the only one we have here wait time is just brutal!!
It seems that the staff is quite occupied, & perhaps additional support, such as expo & meal runners, would be beneficial in assisting the servers with attending to their guests. While the food was enjoyable, there were some delays in service.
Only one real vegan option (adapted avocado toast) is available. The meal itself is fine; nothing crazy but a decent filling meal. I wish there were more fun vegan options but still grateful they were able to make me something! Service is attentive & fast, especially for such a busy spot.
Unfortunately the restaurant (inside) is very loud from both music & chatter so just not a pleasant start to the day for brunch with friends in my opinion.

I rarely stand in line for a restaurant but since we are on vacation I happily joined the crowd. The big surprise was that this decadent brunch spot was worth the wait. I wouldn't & couldn't eat here often & still fit into my clothes but we all thoroughly enjoyed every bit of our brunch. The service was initially slow in this busy restaurant but once our order was taken the service was attentive & upbeat. The vibe of the place is great with cool design features & great attention to the music. I'd recommend the blueberry pancakes with cream & lemon drizzle & the hazelnut latte.. but leave time for a post brunch nap!
Great place. Maybe a tad expensive for their fancy plates but their regular 2 eggs toast+meat is legit. Their homemade sausage is good, & the breakfast comes with beans. I'll come back for sure.
We went to L'Avenue & tried four dishes. Most of the food was really good, but the overall experience wasn't great. We waited in line for over an hour, & even after getting a table, it took more than 45 minutes for the food to arrive. Service was super slow, maybe because it was just a busy day, but it definitely made the visit frustrating.
The Steak & Eggs were easily the best thing on the table. The eggs were perfectly runny, the ribeye was tender, & the hollandaise sauce was rich & flavorful. Bobby Does Dallas was also very good. The eggs were fluffy, the beef was juicy, & the sweet caramelized onions really stood out.
We also had the Red Shakshuka. The flavor was nice, & the labneh & feta added a creamy touch. It came with naan bread at first, which didn't really go well with the dish, but we got it with baguette instead & that worked much better. Honestly, pita would've been the perfect match.
The Strawberry Nocciolata looked amazing & had lots of toppings, but the taste was just okay. Not bad, but definitely not something I'd rush to order again.
Overall, the food was mostly great but the service & wait time were rough. If you go, make sure you're not in a hurry.
Excellent experience...highly recommended! The food tasted magnificent. I tried the truffle duck & the strawberry nocciolata, both delicious. The size of the dishes...needless to say, they're perfect for sharing! Congratulations Eric!!!
The food was excellent as was the service. We were served by Laurie who was very personable, quick & attentive. We ordered'Bobby does Istanbul', & a Californian Omelette. Looking forward to going back another time.
Food is excellent, large portions, the service was very good. Could get quite busy on the weekend, with long line ups, which just shows how popular the spot is.
