Review Summary

Restaurant Impérial is widely praised as a lively, family friendly spot offering authentic Cantonese cooking and a broad dim sum menu, with many diners raving about generous portions, fresh ingredients, and quick, often hot service when not crowded. The QR code ordering system is commonly noted as convenient, helping diners customize orders and keep dishes hot, and weekend dim sum is especially popular, sometimes requiring reservations or waiting. Dishes mentioned positively include lobster with green onion, shrimp and chicken in mayonnaise, beef with broccoli, and a variety of dim sum staples like har gow, siu mai, and egg tarts, while some reviews caution that service can be slow or inconsistent during peak times, the dining room can be noisy or crowded, and a few meals arrived cold, oily, or lacking in balance. Overall, it remains a solid, affordable option for families and groups seeking a broad Cantonese selection and dependable dim sum, with many praising it as one of the best dim sum experiences in the area.

Went for dim sum on a Sunday morning, got there just before the rush. We ordered via their QR code & the food started arriving within 5 minutes! Everything was super fresh & crispy. I've gone for dim sum countless times in Montreal & this was by far the best tasting version I've had. None of the fried dishes were greasy: the squid tentacles, fried turnip cake, seaweed rolls, & even the crispy shrimp inside the rice rolls were super crispy & light. The har gao shrimp dumplings were plump, perfectly cooked & not waterlogged, & the BBQ pork Bao was a revelation - perfectly steamed bread stuffed with chunks of high quality BBQ pork & delicious sauce, not the usual slimy overly sweet stuff you get at the bun shops. Highly recommend this place, we'll be going back soon!

Authentic Chinese food. Try the lobster with green onion, Cantonese fried egg noodles & eggplant in hot pot. Friendly service & reservation recommended.

We have not had dim sum for a while & so glad that we found this place in Brossard. The restaurant opens right at 10 a.m., tucked away in a plaza off a busy area. Parking may be challenging if you get there later in the morning. We were there a few minutes before opening & when we entered the restaurant, we were seated immediately.
The nice thing about the ordering system is, they have the menu on a QR code scan, & you can add additional items to the order, at any time. Once, & order is placed, the items come out fairly quickly, piping hot.
We thoroughly enjoyed the many items we ordered ranging from char siu bao, shiu mai, har gow, chicken feet (my favorite!), soy bean sheet roll, sushi roll, fried taro dumplings, radish cake, & steamed rice roll with crispy shrimp.
We will definitely be back to try more of their items on the menu. Prices are also reasonable & they are very attentive to refill our tea. Love this place!

Super service, rapide & bon. Gros plus pour les sides 103 (sticky rice in lotus leaf) & pour le 601 (stir-fried flat rice Noodle with bee).

Good dimsum for montreal. The fried dishes were very fresh & tasty. The fried calamari was super tender & the XO sauce fried turnip cake was very good. The rest of the food was also pretty decent. The service is very fast & we didn't wait for more than 5 minutes for a table of 2 on a saturday around 1pm.

Amazing to go Cantonese food options. We had the fried soft crab, general tsos, beef & broccoli & seafood pan fried noodles. Order was packaged well. Food was seasoned & cooked perfectly. Not too much msg in the cooking & food delivery was on point with the timing.

It's really good & fresh. Instead of a kart going around & you pick what you want from it they actually only cook what you've order, which is why everything was fresh & tasty & the fried stuff we ordered was very crispy. It's crazy popular though so go very early.

The restaurant serves family-friendly meal portions. Food service was relatively quick, the taste is delicious for Chinese food & the staff was present when needed. You need to ask the waiter for sauces on the side & for water; they serve tea as you settle at your table. The siumai, salt & pepper pork & the crispy noodle cantonese style are my favourite. Also love the noodle rice rolls, & the fried shrimp dumpling ☺️

Pretty average dimsum fare. I enjoyed the deep fried taro balls (not pictured) the most out of everything we ordered but I don't think I would return again. Service was non existent & the washrooms were questionably sticky & grimy. The food did come out fast & hot at least.
