Restaurant Grinder centers its culinary focus on high-quality cuts of beef and fresh seafood selections sourced for maximum flavor. The establishment prepares various steak cuts utilizing specialized grilling techniques to ensure consistent texture and charred exteriors. Beyond the meat offerings, the menu incorporates a diverse array of fish and shellfish prepared with classic French-inspired techniques that prioritize natural ingredients. Patrons observe an industrial aesthetic characterized by exposed brick walls and high ceilings that frame the open concept layout. The drink selection features a robust variety of craft cocktails and spirits designed to complement the heavy proteins and rich sauces found throughout the kitchen repertoire. This venue maintains a commitment to ingredient-driven plates that highlight the technical precision required for effective open-fire cooking and traditional preparation methods.
Restaurant Grinder is frequently praised for its exceptional food, particularly the high-quality steaks, surf and turf platters, and popular sides like the pudding chômeur. Many guests highlight the vibrant, moody atmosphere and the professional, attentive service provided by the staff, which often makes for a memorable dining experience. While the majority of visitors have a fantastic time and look forward to returning, some patrons note that the restaurant can be quite noisy and that table spacing may feel cramped during busy periods. Occasional inconsistencies in service speed and food preparation have been mentioned, but management is noted for being responsive to feedback and dedicated to ensuring guest satisfaction.
Had a delicious meal here. The food was perfection. Cooked so well. & the service was 5/5. Our waitress was so sweet with our daughter & really made her feel special. The pudding chômeur was the perfect ending to a hearty meal. Photos speak for themselves!
Firstly, shoutout to Jake for being an amazing server. This guy was on point from start to finish & really made our night, he works hard & remembers details, great hospitality. The vibes here were awesome, the appetizers was really good, the cocktails were amazing… unfortunately they fell short on the meat. The Wagyu was chewy like a tire, cut way too think & the tomahawks were not good. We'd come back here but we'd probably avoid the steaks, everything else truly was awesome. Jake you're the man!
Food was great thankfully. Went for dinner with the wife & I would suggest they go through some minor improvements to the service.
Our main waiter was respectful & courteous. However the second waiter or the bus boy was clearly not there to work in the service industry.
This guy did not greet himself, walks up to your table & stands over you to pour water. The waiter interrupts us without any courtesy or apologies. Stared at us & walked away multiple times
He took our utensils & plates from us without asking. Poured water all over the table, left without saying anything or returning with towels.
Definitely not a place for fine dining experience, it would better to go as a group. The Grinder Restaurant resembles more like a diner with a bar. It was not worth the $200 bill.

Grinder is a must. We came to celebrate a milestone birthday & had the perfect evening!
The atmosphere was perfect - great buzz & ambiance & love the decor.
The service was amazing - very attentive, accommodating, staff was friendly, guided us through some menu questions, & did everything with a beautiful smile. We asked to move tables (we were close to a heat lamp & wanted a bit more space). It was a bustling Friday night, but they made it happen & were so nice & accommodating. The manager checked on us several times throughout the meal to make sure things were good.
Oh, & the FOOD! The Food. Everything was so delicious. There are no wrong choices on this menu! We shared the Hamachi Sashimi & Calamari to start, & steaks (NY Strip & Hanger) for our mains. Portion sizes were perfect, steak cooked to perfection & flavours were on point.
The sweet potato fries are some of the best I've ever tasted & the green beans were perfectly cooked in a zesty chili lemon dressing that was the perfect balance of tang & heat.
Our server surprised us with an amazing complimentary birthday pudding a la mode. There is nothing that could have been improved.
Special shout out to the manager & our server (D) who made our birthday celebration so fun & memorable. Will definitely be back!
We took surf & turf & it was delicious. Steak & shrimps were perfectly juicy but the lobster was little dry. I wouldn’t recommend the lobster. But rest of the food was amazing.
My fiancé & I spent our 8 year anniversary at Grinder & the service & food were exceptional as always. We have been coming here every year to celebrate for the last 3 years & the consistency in quality of food & service is always impressive. Every dish we ordered was fresh & delicious & service is quick. We have nothing but positive feedback for this wonderful restaurant & we are excited to return very soon. Quick shoutout to our waiter for asking us if we were at Grinder to celebrate a special occasion & then bringing us a complementary pouding chômeur for dessert which was excellent (as usual) 10/10 as always & would recommend to anyone wanting to try
I write this review with a heavy heart, but without regret. For the third year, we held our office party at Grinder. We reserved the upstairs to accommodate our team. Now, the atmosphere has always been convivial, although way too loud to eat comfortably... which is why we take the upstairs, so we can hear ourselves speak. The servers are very friendly, but they essentially put out most of the food in one shot, left it to get cold, & didn't bring out more food for a couple of hours. & this was in late November, so our party was well in advance of the Christmas busy season. The food was okay (has always been okay, but not really special), but once cold, hey, I can eat cold food at home. We are looking for a new venue for 2025.
