Grinder is a must. We came to celebrate a milestone birthday & had the perfect evening!
The atmosphere was perfect - great buzz & ambiance & love the decor.
The service was amazing - very attentive, accommodating, staff was friendly, guided us through some menu questions, & did everything with a beautiful smile. We asked to move tables (we were close to a heat lamp & wanted a bit more space). It was a bustling Friday night, but they made it happen & were so nice & accommodating. The manager checked on us several times throughout the meal to make sure things were good.
Oh, & the FOOD! The Food. Everything was so delicious. There are no wrong choices on this menu! We shared the Hamachi Sashimi & Calamari to start, & steaks (NY Strip & Hanger) for our mains. Portion sizes were perfect, steak cooked to perfection & flavours were on point.
The sweet potato fries are some of the best I've ever tasted & the green beans were perfectly cooked in a zesty chili lemon dressing that was the perfect balance of tang & heat.
Our server surprised us with an amazing complimentary birthday pudding a la mode. There is nothing that could have been improved.
Special shout out to the manager & our server (D) who made our birthday celebration so fun & memorable. Will definitely be back!View more
We took surf & turf & it was delicious. Steak & shrimps were perfectly juicy but the lobster was little dry. I wouldn’t recommend the lobster. But rest of the food was amazing.View more
View more
My fiancé & I spent our 8 year anniversary at Grinder & the service & food were exceptional as always. We have been coming here every year to celebrate for the last 3 years & the consistency in quality of food & service is always impressive. Every dish we ordered was fresh & delicious & service is quick. We have nothing but positive feedback for this wonderful restaurant & we are excited to return very soon. Quick shoutout to our waiter for asking us if we were at Grinder to celebrate a special occasion & then bringing us a complementary pouding chômeur for dessert which was excellent (as usual) 10/10 as always & would recommend to anyone wanting to tryView more
I write this review with a heavy heart, but without regret. For the third year, we held our office party at Grinder. We reserved the upstairs to accommodate our team. Now, the atmosphere has always been convivial, although way too loud to eat comfortably... which is why we take the upstairs, so we can hear ourselves speak. The servers are very friendly, but they essentially put out most of the food in one shot, left it to get cold, & didn't bring out more food for a couple of hours. & this was in late November, so our party was well in advance of the Christmas busy season. The food was okay (has always been okay, but not really special), but once cold, hey, I can eat cold food at home. We are looking for a new venue for 2025.View more

Bravo!View more
Good premium restaurant but lacks luxury quality. Great atmosphere for a large restaurant (by Montreal standards)View more
Experience never disappoints. Amazing burger for the price as well!View more
My friends & I took the Tomahawk with lobsters, shrimps & scallops & it was okay. The steak was good but seafood was dry/overcooked but hey they give you sauces for your steak that you can dip or the butter lemon. The only sauce that was good for me was the chimichurri & the mushrooms were on the salty side which I thought was just me but my friends also thought the same. I don't know if the value is there though honestly as we didn't think the portions were enough for the price we paid. Service is where it shines here as they were all awesome but I do wish they would have introduced themselves so I can give a kudos here. The atmosphere is where it falls the most as the music was very loud & we really had to talk loud amongst ourselves. Overall I wouldn't come back because of the atmosphere as I couldn't enjoy my food & have a good conversation but if loud music is your thing, then this place is for you, just don't order seafood!View more
Service & Food is 5 Star, the steak is the highlight the show. Scallops & shrimp are great as well. Lobster needs some work. Friendly staff & nice ambienceView more
I know the truth, I am but a plebeian Peasent, while I have done well tilling the meagar land given to me by my sovereign leaders, I have not yet risen to the station of being permitted to attend the the fine establishments where our overlords frequent. Attending this place, however, is like stumbing upon a crumb that has fallen from our masters table, a gem that had slipped from the treasure trove & not yet been noticed by the powers that be. For one as myself this was an experience that my descendants will treasure in the collective memories for generations! My infiltration was difficult, & I suspect they are on to me. The first test, one of literacy was easy, despite my hesitation. They had an arrow at what appeared to be the entrance pointing to the left, above it it said "Entrance". Following this arrow led me down a long dark hallway which increased my concern I would be found out, while also invoking feelings of exclusivity & high status. Thankfully we were greeted by a jewel of a hostess asking us for our reservation with a magical smile, before my nerves gave out. Upon sitting down I made my first blunder, the waiter, Diego, said "Flat water or sparkling?" Not expecting this test I yet rose to occasion & said "Peirrior or Club soda bubbly?" To this the waiter looked at me with confusion & said "S.Pellegrino sir." I then realized my blunder: only peasents like myself drink club soda when pretending to be fancy. The waitress, Mary, who came after, however, did not have a chance to receive the notification of my mistake, so suspected nothing. The menu was a treasure trove of incredible eats & foods that were foreign to my humble palette. While there was a distinct lack of pictures in the menu (thankfully my grade 3 teacher had taught me the animal & plant words) they had everything from Lobster Spaghetti to AAA ALBERTA BEEF BLACK ANGUS GROWN STRAIGHT FROM THE GROUND WITH THE FINEST HERBS & SPICES. However they had an option for shared whole table variety! My fellow co-consipators & I chose that option. They saved me from literacy blunder by pointing out that the price on the menu was per person, not per table. Words are hard & tricky inventions of wizards & accountants to keep the common man down The food was incredible, a flavor adventure of imagination & food sorecery if the highest level. Appetizers were divine drops of dews from the heavens, oysters arranged in a circle ready for us to consume them the way our overlords consume our labor, & a green sauce that might be made of avocado & olive oil, two fruits from two diffenent parts of the world coming together in a collision that was not available without the pirate extermination of 1952. & Millenials loving avocado toast. Dam Millenials always miss the true combinations. Avocados pair better with olive oil than toast. Finally the dessert did us in. We all lost our composure & fought like animals over the delight before us! At this point the waitress said "your reservation time is over sir" to which point I looked at the wonderful decor, reminiscent of a luxury pub from the industrial revolution, with a saltwater tank, & electricity, & modern day people. & RAN- To pay of course. Oh & the Baked octopus was my favorite. Don't steal it from my plate Shanel.View more
