Restaurant Didar is widely regarded as a premier destination for authentic Indian cuisine in Montreal, consistently praised for its flavorful dishes, generous portions, and exceptional value. Visitors frequently highlight the butter chicken, various paneer dishes, and fresh naan as standout menu items that capture the essence of traditional cooking. The service is repeatedly described as attentive, welcoming, and warm, with many patrons noting the family-owned atmosphere that makes guests feel like they are being hosted at a home. While the ambiance is simple and cozy, the overall consensus is that the combination of high-quality, freshly prepared food and professional, friendly staff makes it a must-visit location for locals and travelers alike.

We had a fantastic time at Didar. We stopped in for dinner on a hot Friday night. I have been eating Indian food since I was a child, & I can safely say this is some of the best Indian cuisine I've ever had. The naan was ridiculously good, very fluffy & fresh. Although we asked for mild spiciness, the food was still quite spicy, so I highly recommend getting a mango lassi to cool your palate between bites. The service was excellent & one of the workers went above & beyond to make us feel welcome. I highly recommend this restaurant.

One of the best Indian food in Montreal. It reminds me the days when I used to live in Amritsar. Dal Makhani, Paneer Bhurji & Tandoori chicken are the best. Don't forget Lassi.

Best Indian restaurant in Montreal. Prices are soooo cheap! Butter chicken is to die for. I go at least once a month even if I now live in Sherbrooke. They have a 10$ all you can eat buffet all week long during lunch. They offer a variety of dishes ( soups, samosas, vegetarian & non vegetarian curries, Dal, Channa, fresh naans & rice, etc.) Tried pretty much everything & everything was amazing. Staff is nice as well! I think its run by a family. The place isnt fancy at all, the front of the building isnt actually nice but its so worth it. & its clean. You gotta try it!

Update: It's been 7 years since my initial review & this restaurant is still one of my favourite! I brought all my friends & family & everyone loves it!

Nice Indian food, one of the best in Montreal if not the best, both in terms of taste & price. My only issue is that it was cold & din when I went there, i think they wanted to same on the hydro bill lol

i keep ordering from Didar because they are quite literally the best indian resto in montreal. The quality of their food is top notch & the service even better. Its been 15 years that i have been going here (before the name change) & the quality has never changed. I placed an uber eats order & even though i forgot to add free promotional item the staff was more then willing to add it to my order. Very classy, & appreciated!!!!!

The food is so good. The fish pakora was so tender, the papri chat so fresh & butter chicken so comforting. The service was also amazing, AJ was super attentive & really engaging. Bonus: if you play Clash Royal, talk to AJ, you'll find some things in common. Its definitely my favourite place to grab Indian food, I highly recommend.

Had a great experience with dining here. We ordered Chole Bhathure, Kadhaii Paneer & Chicken thali. The food tasted amazing with authentic Indian flavors from Punjab.
I recommend this place for birthday & anniversary dinners 🙂 😍

It's one of the most authentic Indian restaurant. I really liked their amritsari thali. The best thing here is that the kulcha filling & spice level can be customized.
