Review Summary

Restaurant Baba receives mixed feedback, with many patrons praising the generous portions, high quality of ingredients, and standout items like the flavorful garlic potatoes and shawarma. While frequent customers often commend the delicious, fresh food and welcoming staff, there are inconsistent reports regarding meat dryness and declining consistency in meal flavor. Service experiences also vary significantly, ranging from outstanding and friendly interactions to isolated incidents of poor customer service and dissatisfaction with food quality, making it a polarizing but often appreciated choice for quick meals.

i got the chicken plate, honestly just trust the other reviews & save yourself the money wasted on this. The chicken is so dry it tasted like something that's been under a hot lamp for hours. The salad was not fresh at all. I had an upset stomach after a couple bites. Would not try again ever …

I liek the rice here a lot & the cabbage salad is quite good, but the last few times I went but the chicken & beef were quite dried out & not that enjoyable, which is disappointing. Not my go to in the food court anymore, but decent.

Food court style Lebanese food is hard to nail & this place doesn't seem to do enough to separate itself over your usual boustan/basha/Amir-tier place. Despite the heart & uplifting spirit of its joyful staff, the shawarma/shishtaouk meat ends up dry & of ungenerous portion because its pre-cut & left to cook-off. Fatouch salad feels uninspired & generic. Perhaps their strength lies in their grills... But in a world where grilled specialized places exist, I fear they need to improve the freshness of their meat or disappear...

As someone who grew up in the Middle East, I am incredibly critical of middle eastern food, but I have to say, this place is spectacular. Seems very unassuming - mall food court, yet it's genuinely a hidden gem. I got the chicken shawarma plate & everything was delicious; the hummus (actually tasted authentic & not like the garbage they sell at the grocery store), the chicken was juicy with crispy edges, the rice was aromatic, & the salads were actually salads & not some dry greens. I'm very impressed. Will certainly come again next time I'm in Montreal.

Merci!
