Review Summary

Overall, reviews highlight Baba for fresh ingredients, tender and flavorful chicken shawarma, generous portions, and sauces that enhance the dish without overpowering it, along with well balanced sides like crispy potatoes and a mango salad; the staff are described as friendly and the atmosphere clean and welcoming, making it a solid quick meal option in Montreal; however some visits note inconsistency with dry chicken, less fresh salad, and variable service, which can affect value on certain orders.

The portions are pretty generous, & the garlic potatoes were really tasty.

I honestly didn't expect it to be this good. The potatoes were some of the best I've ever had, the garlic sauce was perfectly made, & the shawarma sandwich was delicious.
Coming from Ottawa, I have to admit that Montreal has some of the best Middle Eastern food.

I ordered a beef shawarma pita trio & it was the best one I ever had. The potatoes were amazing & the extra garlic sauce was the cherry on top. Great food, amazing value.

Baba in Complex Desjardins is a good spot for a quick meal. The shawarma is fairly ordinary & nothing special, but the fried potatoes that come with it are exceptional-crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, & easily some of the best in Montréal. While the main dish may not stand out, the fries alone make it worth stopping by. A solid choice if you're craving something simple with truly amazing sides.

It's a Lebanese restaurant, we got the chicken & beef grill & a shawarma. Food is prepped fresh, but it took a while. We're not Lebanese, but it sure tasted great. Garlic sauce was the most flavorful I've ever tasted. The fried potatoes & beef were really tasty. The chicken shawarma was a bit dry though.

They make really good shawarma & garlic potatoes. They are also generous enough to fill your box. The owners are very professional & friendly . However, sometimes their employees make mistakes on orders : I visited this place several times & had my order wrong few times alongside other customers. Can't really blame them because this shopping center is brutally busy during lunch/dinner hours, but still. Overall, a really good place for Lebanese food. I wish this place can have more branches of, they can maintain this quality
