Installé au cœur de la Petite-Italie depuis l’été 2019, Ratafia vous accueille dans un décor aux accents Art déco et une ambiance festive. Que ce soit pour y manger des desserts à l’assiette ou pour découvrir la magnifique offre salée, le Ratafia garantit une expérience hors du commun, où chaque plat est travaillé pour mettre en valeur les produits et ravir l’œil le plus aiguisé.

La cuisine a structure unique ne cache pas un grand chef mais bien cinq talentueuses pâtissières, qui tour à tour prennent part à la création des plats et se plaisent à travailler dans un environnement égalitaire où chacune a sa place.

Une grande carte des vins originale,

des 5 à 7 arrosés, une grande sélection de cocktails signatures,

des plats raffinés qui mènent bien au sucré, une expérience pour 2 en 6 services

We came here to celebrate our anniversary & had the best night with incredible food! A heartfelt thank you to our wonderful server, Vanessa, who truly went above & beyond to make our night special as well as offering some tips for our vacation in Montreal.

The food of course, was outstanding too. We are both vegetarian & had several options to chose from. The salad was fresh & seasonal. The main dishes we shared the mushroom & pasta dish were intentional & executed wonderfully. Ending the night with dessert was a great choice too, with such creative sweet treats.

All the wine wine was paired wonderfully. We would come back in a heartbeat!

Ratafia absolutely crushes it! It is so hard to find great vibes, stellar service, & fun, creative food that is vegan-friendly in Montreal, but this place does it flawlessly.

You can really tell they deeply think their menu through. They already have a ton of incredible vegan options built right in, & so many of the dishes that aren't originally vegan can actually be modified to be plant-based, which is amazing. The staff is very attentive & the atmosphere is super fun!

I never write reviews but this place forced my hand in the best way possible.

We were six chaotic but deeply enthusiastic food & wine-loving girls on a Montréal trip, & from the second we walked in, we knew we'd found somewhere special. The food was genuinely out of this world, very inventive & each dishes with personality. The ambiance was intimate, cozy, & somehow made us all feel effortlessly chic despite our general level of chaos. Playlist was also great!

& the service-especially from the two incredible women with glasses whose names we absolutely should have remembered but tragically did not-was next-level. They guided us through everything with so much warmth & ease, & somehow handled our group dynamic like absolute pros.

10/10 would emotionnally attach ourselves to this place again. Will recommend to everyone. Xxx

My husband & I went to Ratafia for my birthday. It was a quiet night but the food & service did not disappoint. We chose the secret menu with the wine pairing for each course. We've been to numerous restaurants around the city, it's the first time we've experienced such a culinary delight. From start to finish, the dishes were presented with gorgeous design & the ingredients danced lovingly on our palates. Chef Magie Marier experiments with bold flavors & textures, it's no surprise she was one of the top contenders in last year's 2025 series' Les Chefs'. Our servers Joannie & Moe were exceptional, attentive to every detail. They were kind & personable, truly making our special evening even more memorable.
We highly recommend this establishment.

The food & the dining experience was amazing. We went with the chef's choice. Beautiful presentation, delightful ingredients & delicious dishes.
There were at least four gluten free choices. All excellent.
Delphine gave us excellent, professional & charming service.
Reasonably prices.
Cozy atmosphere.
The drinks were ok. We did not try the wine.

So pleasantly surprised to see how (originally) a dessert bar can whip up amazing savoury dishes! I have to admit I was initially a little skeptical we had to share the tasting menu for 2 in fear of not being full enough, but we came out satiated. However, it did feel slightly out of balance to have 3 & desserts after only 3 savoury dishes because I was personally craving for more of the savoury, especially with the main dish being so darn delicious (but it's also possible my husband gobbled down bigger bites faster than me, so that's on us!) Every dish got better & better as we progressed through the tasting menu. The pre-dessert, however, was underwhelming considering how the spotlight was mainly on citrus fruits, but the freshness of the oranges were lackluster. The last dessert lacked body, a little too airy but I get the concept of ending on a lighter note. The main plum dessert was OUT OF THIS WORLD!!! I have to say, it completely exceeded my expectations & it ticked all the checkboxes for a perfect plated dessert. The plum sorbet was so fresh & addictive, & the little dot of fermented plum so elegantly elevated the entire dish. I would come again just because it's rare to see a Montreal restaurant nail both savoury & desserts.

Ratafia on Saint-Laurent Street was an outstanding experience from start to finish.

The space is charming & inviting, the service is warm & polished, & the food is both delicious & creative. We opted for the tasting menu, & every course was beautifully executed. The wine pairings were also very well done & complemented the dishes perfectly.

What truly made the evening special was the service. Our waitress was exceptional-genuinely warm, attentive, & welcoming. I only wish I knew her name so her outstanding work could be properly recognized.

The value is remarkable for the quality offered. The pricing is very fair & almost feels like a bargain for such a refined & memorable experience. Ratafia is a place that reminds you why dining out can be so special.

I wasn't a fan of the dishes. While I appreciate the effort to create an experimental culinary experience, the flavor combinations didn't quite work for me. The service, however, was excellent - I'd return for that alone!

Ultimately the food is just too sweet. We tasted 70% of their dishes & they were all just sweet. Their two pasta dishes incorporated sweet root vegetables so they tasted the same. On the bright side, the sweetness paid off on the DESSERTS lol. The red velvet dessert was divine & I would go back just for that.

Just really excellent & unique food. They are popular for the desserts & deservedly so of course, but all the savoury dishes we had were also top-notch. Plus, they change their menu monthly.
