Pub Wolf & Workman impressed in all the ways a top-rated restaurant should. The food, drinks, service, location, ambiance, & value; all excellent!
We made reservations well in advance for a Thursday evening at 7:30 PM. Upon arrival, we were greeted courteously & promptly seated in a dining room. There was a terrace at the back, which looked great & was full of people enjoying the good vibe.
The whole place was lively, with a vibrant buzz, but somehow it also felt warm, inviting & relaxed, as any place calling itself a pub should feel. The inside had an aesthetically pleasing mix of old-world, even luxurious charm, with a nice modern twist. Trendy, yes, but cozy, too.
Our server was very good. Prompt. Friendly. Bilingual. She listened & engaged & gave us bang-on recommendations. It was busy & she had several tables, but she was positive, attentive & readily available all evening. Great job!
The cocktails were on point. A Coconut Marmalade Horchata & a Wild Strawberry Margarita. I also had a nice pour of Murphy's Irish Stout. All were excellent.
We started with a delicious Howard Scotch Egg with maple syrup sausage, Branston chutney & arugula. Fantastic!
For our mains, we sampled from their famous'Pie Shoppe' & had the popular Chicken Pot Pie & Beef Stroganoff Pie. They were amazing. Eye-poppingly humongous & perfectly prepared. Which is better is a matter of personal preference (esp. re: chicken vs. beef), but in our opinion the Beef Stroganoff Pie was extra-delicious & peerless.
The Wolf & Workman left a great impression as a hospitable, somewhat upscale pub-style restaurant with a great offerings & a very nice blend of British/Quebecois vibe, right in the heart of Old Montreal.Voir plus

Zev at Wolf & Workman was incredible! Super friendly, attentive, & made great recommendations. He truly elevated our night with top-notch service & great vibes. Ask for Zev you won't regret it!Voir plus
Had the best time, sat at the bar for drinks!! We had a awesome bartender, her vibe made our night!! Highly recommend.Voir plus
My boyfriend & I frequent old port & always look forward to coming to the wolf & workman during our stay. The courtyard is an incredible vibe in the summer, but eating in the dining room is equally as lovely. The staff are always attentive & engaging, & the food is always incredible. I'm not sure if the menu changes seasonally, as the last time we were there we had their escargot appetizer as well as their beef cottage pie, but this time they weren't on the menu. This time we opted to just split a bunch of appetizers since everything sounded delicious, & we were not disappointed. The cocktails are also extremely delicious, & I look forward to returning soon!Voir plus
Great service & vibes, unfortunately dry & flavorless burgers. We loved being here to watch sports but the food kinda has that tourist trap feel where it looks so, so much better than it tastes. The buns were like crumbly dry & the beef patty soaked up my mouth like saltines do. The roasted cauliflower salad was pretty good, just didn't wow me at all.Voir plus
The pub is near our hotel & we have stopped in a couple of times for either a drink or a bite or both. Each stop has been great - the staff are really friendly & helpful, the food is very good & the overall vibe is really fun!Voir plus
Such a cool vibe, plus excellent food & service. We sat at the bar, but the whole restaurant is charming & it's in a great location.Voir plus
Everything about this place is a vibe. The music is on point The burger was probably one of the best I've had in montreal The staff were super kind The drinks are just ridiculous good. Just go & have a good timeVoir plus
Wolf & Workman is a brunch lover's paradise! I once tried their Eggs Benedict, & it was absolutely fantastic - perfectly poached eggs, rich hollandaise, & beautifully balanced flavors. Each bite felt like a warm, comforting treat. ☕️ The atmosphere adds to the experience, with its cozy pub vibes & friendly service. If you're looking for a top-notch brunch spot in Old Montreal, this place is a must-visit. Yum indeed!Voir plus
Good spot for drinks, whether you want to be on your own, on a date or with a group of friends, cool vibes.Voir plus
What a neat little spot near the harbour! Our food was divine- the burrata & croquettes- while being more than reasonably priced! Highly recommend getting a table in the courtyard for true old towne vibes. It was pretty busy when we went so the service was slow BUT it was pleasant, professional, & attentive.Voir plus
This place has a very nice vibe to it, drinks are good & the food is even better. Although, a greater variety of beer would be highly appreciated.Voir plus
Don't have much to say, but the vibes are great. I got a'franklin' to try something new, but it wasn't my cup of tea personally. However, the atmosphere of this pub was great & employees are very lively!Voir plus
Great food, great atmosphere, great vibes! We had a large group for brunch & our servers were incredibly attentive & brought everything out in a reasonable fashion. The food was spectacular & those who had cocktails said they were delicious. Definitely recommend for a casual but nice occasion meal.Voir plus

We stumbled upon this place & so happy we did that we actually came back twice this weekend! Spacious bar that included heated patio & ample seating. Foodwise, it's a traditional English pub with really tasty & fresh food. We had ordered the Scotch egg & croquettes for some apps to go with our drinks & they were perfection. Drinks were delicious. Servers were really attentive & friendly. Overall, a really fun vibe when you walk through the doors & we can't wait to come back! Update: their patio is dog friendly so this is a total bonus for our fur friends!Voir plus
Excellent service. Reasonable proces. Tasy food & unforgettable decor & vibe. Loved it!Voir plus
While visiting Montreal we met with some friends who suggested Pub Wolf & Workman & I'm delighted that we chose to eat here. Cozy atmosphere when you enter & the back patio is a dreamy escape from the city outside. The chicken pot pie was humongous but delectable! I wish I could have it for dinner every night. Great vibe. Yummy menu. Friendly staff. Overall amazing lunch in an amazing city.Voir plus
Friendly staff, nice vibe, average food. No more schnitzel served.Voir plus
Love the vibe on that place. Located in Old Montreal. I only had drinks but they have an extensive menu & a lot of seating. Would definitely go back next time I'm in town.Voir plus
Our BEST dinner experience! I absolutely loved their Chicken Tikka Masalla & my husband loved their Chicken Pot Pie. I also throughly enjoyed their Purple Haze drink! Our server was so friendly & the vibes & atmosphere transport you to Europe. A must go place in Montreal! We will return!Voir plus
The Britophile in me greatly appreciated the vibes & fare on offer. I'm especially fond of the range of beers the pub boasted, with Burgundy Lion Ale & Bishop Special Bitter being faves of mine.Voir plus
Brought visitors from Toronto, they loved the Old Montreal vibe! Great food (stroganoff, tikka Marsala!) great service, will definitely be back!
Great vibe especially on the terrace! We love coming here when in Montreal. Service is always great & the drinks & food are amazing! Great time.
We had a great time on the terrasse, enjoying fine food, helpful servers, & a great vibe. Always a treat to eat at The Wolf!
We had reservation at 7pm on a Tuesday, but came a 10 minutes early.
Upon arrival, we were greeted right away. Our hostess gave us a quick tour, & proceeded to take us to our table. The ambiance is nice. The music wasn't playing too loudly, so my guest & I were still able to talk to each other without screaming at each other.
Our waitress came quickly to ask if we wanted to order drinks, & event made a recommendation for the mocktail. It didn't take long to receive our drinks, & to give our food order. As we sipped our drinks, & enjoyed the vibe of the restaurant, our entrées arrived: BRAISED PORC CROQUETTES was delicious. 3 pieces of nicely fried croquette was good on its own & didn't need the extra sauce; BURRATA & ROASTED SQUASH served with their own homemade focaccia was beautiful. It says roasted squash in the title, but in the description it was pickled, we definitely got pickled not roasted. If I let my foodie self talk, I would probably have the castel franco, chicory & endives slices more thinly to have a more delicate experience with the burrata cheese. We took a bit of time to eat our entrées because the mains came & we hadn't finished, but the staff was kind enough to grab our plates out of the way for the mains.
SLOW COOKED OX TAIL GNOCCHI had good flavors. The gnocchi were soft as they should be, there were some pieces of ox tail, & the tomato sauce was on point, not too acidic; LAMB ROGAN JOSH PIE was the big winner. The pie was quite hefty, the crust was flaky & well baked. The filling was ALL lamb, so definitely have your protein intake. It was accompanied by a goat cheese beet salad (salad of the day) & it was a perfect balance. We took the leftovers home!
The restrooms were clean, so always a plus!
All in all, the experience at this establishment is a 5 star for me. Friendly staff, clean place, great décor, lots of personality & flavorful foods. I highly recommend.
