Pub Wolf & Workman impressed in all the ways a top-rated restaurant should. The food, drinks, service, location, ambiance, & value; all excellent!
We made reservations well in advance for a Thursday evening at 7:30 PM. Upon arrival, we were greeted courteously & promptly seated in a dining room. There was a terrace at the back, which looked great & was full of people enjoying the good vibe.
The whole place was lively, with a vibrant buzz, but somehow it also felt warm, inviting & relaxed, as any place calling itself a pub should feel. The inside had an aesthetically pleasing mix of old-world, even luxurious charm, with a nice modern twist. Trendy, yes, but cozy, too.
Our server was very good. Prompt. Friendly. Bilingual. She listened & engaged & gave us bang-on recommendations. It was busy & she had several tables, but she was positive, attentive & readily available all evening. Great job!
The cocktails were on point. A Coconut Marmalade Horchata & a Wild Strawberry Margarita. I also had a nice pour of Murphy's Irish Stout. All were excellent.
We started with a delicious Howard Scotch Egg with maple syrup sausage, Branston chutney & arugula. Fantastic!
For our mains, we sampled from their famous'Pie Shoppe' & had the popular Chicken Pot Pie & Beef Stroganoff Pie. They were amazing. Eye-poppingly humongous & perfectly prepared. Which is better is a matter of personal preference (esp. re: chicken vs. beef), but in our opinion the Beef Stroganoff Pie was extra-delicious & peerless.
The Wolf & Workman left a great impression as a hospitable, somewhat upscale pub-style restaurant with a great offerings & a very nice blend of British/Quebecois vibe, right in the heart of Old Montreal.View more
Very lovely staff. Professional & very friendly & they certainly know how to make a mean cocktail. A really well stocked bar, & a very impressive range of Scotch whiskies, & a top shelf to die for...... I would recommend it to anyone looking for a place to chill over a pint or a cocktail ... Five stars for sure.View more
This place is one of my fav!!! Original & inventive cocktails, good food, great ambiance & I like the vintage decor.
I recommend the beef stroganoff is you are on the market for good comfort food after one of those days at work....View more
Mind you we went here because it had great ratings & it did not disappoint! Gabriel was our server & she was excellent with perfect English & French (I presume). ;)
We sat'outside' on a warm day but were glad to have a seat. Outside is an interior open courtyard.
We only ordered what she suggested - croquette appetizer (amazing) & a chicken pot pie for me & a fisherman's pie for my wife. Both were as good as it gets. They also have great Quebec beer on tap & interestingly good cocktails.
Our first time together in Montreal so much to see!View more
This place was great! The beer was good & the atmosphere was so fun!
Make sure to specify cocktail if that's what you're getting as the have alcoholic versions of some.View more
I enjoyed the steak tartare with their homemade chips. That was delicious. One of my friends had the chicken pot pie, which they quite enjoyed. Two people had the W&W burgers. They said they were pretty good, but they were quite red in odd places. Like not in the center. So they probably ate half of their burgers. But what they ate they enjoyed. It's just unfortunate that they were not cooked correctly. I also enjoyed a delicious spicy margarita type cocktail, which is the only thing I was able to get a picture of.View more
My boyfriend & I frequent old port & always look forward to coming to the wolf & workman during our stay. The courtyard is an incredible vibe in the summer, but eating in the dining room is equally as lovely. The staff are always attentive & engaging, & the food is always incredible. I'm not sure if the menu changes seasonally, as the last time we were there we had their escargot appetizer as well as their beef cottage pie, but this time they weren't on the menu. This time we opted to just split a bunch of appetizers since everything sounded delicious, & we were not disappointed. The cocktails are also extremely delicious, & I look forward to returning soon!View more
My friends & I always go here for our annual trip to Montreal. Great service, casual atmosphere, with great food & cocktails.View more
We had the pleasure of eating & sipping cocktails at The Wolf & Workman Pub, & it truly felt like stepping into a classic London pub-only with a uniquely Montreal twist. Tucked away in the charming Old Town, this spot delivered on every front, from its outstanding food to its inviting ambiance & top-notch bar service.
What truly sets The Wolf & Workman apart is its exceptional blend of traditional pub fare & local Quebecois ingredients. The menu proudly features seasonal produce sourced from Quebec's independent farmers. We had the chance to try several dishes, including the Beef Tartare, Calamari, Scotch Egg, Salmon Gravlax, Gnocchi Bolognese, & Quebec Pork Schnitzel-each dish was delicious.
The drinks deserve a mention of their own. The mixologist behind the bar was a true artist, crafting cocktails that were as visually captivating as they were tasty. The cocktail menu incorporated local flavours, which added a twist to every classic drink.
A standout moment of our visit was meeting Sean Michael, one of the co-owners. He made us feel incredibly welcome & took the time to share the intriguing history behind the pub. Hearing about The Wolf & Workman's journey & its commitment to quality truly enhanced the experience. Sean's genuine passion for the pub is reflected in every detail, making the space feel even more special.
The atmosphere was cozy & intimate, with rich wood accents & warm lighting that evoke the spirit of a beloved British pub-but with a distinctly Montreal touch. It was the perfect place for a casual laid-back yet sophisticated evening.
The Wolf & Workman Pub is a must-visit for anyone in search of outstanding food, exceptional cocktails, & a warm, welcoming atmosphere. Whether you're a local or just passing through, it's a spot you'll want to return to. A perfect blend of London charm & Quebec pride-what's not to love?View more
We went in for their famous pot pie & drinks. The pie was delicious, the cocktails were on par too.View more
One of our favorite spots in Montreal, we came two times during our 5 day stay in the city. Both times we sat at the bar & had a couple of rounds of cocktails, & all of them were perfectly done, both times we had an extra round as how good they were, nothing too fancy just well done & down to earth. With the food we only tasted their fries which were very tasty, crunchy & salty. The bartenders & waiters were focused, friendly & polite, always willing to answer any questions graciously no matter how busy they were. We were made feel at home & we cannot wait to come back!View more
Un bar où l on sert de véritables cocktails .avec du goût ,de la personnalité. Les barmans sont très sympas & sont à l écoute . On n à pas l impression de vous avoir vendu un glaçon uniquement .View more
Cauliflower salad was great; lamb korma pie was under-spiced, & pork croquettes were mushy & uninteresting inside. The presentation, sauces & salads are excellent. Service was cheerful & polite, but could have been more proactive about navigating the minefield that is the cocktail menu (i.e, point out clearly that a drink has a weird ingredient like chocolate or banana liqueur!). Tonic was flat.View more
Stopped in late Saturday afternoon for a drink & a little bite because we were feeling peckish. The host was super friendly & welcoming. Our server had a great smile & her service was good. We ordered 1 cider & 1 blood orange ginger sour. It cocktail was a bit on the small side but super delicious with just the right amount of g of sweetness. We ordered the salmon tartare & an order of fries. The salmon tartare came with four crisps. It was good, light & refreshing that paired nicely with the side order of fries.View more

Just what old Mtl needed. What a team they put together. Wine, cocktails & food done right. It's so beautiful inside & everyone is so friendly. Reminds me of my other favorite pub lord William. Great job guys I'll keep coming back for sure!View more

Best time at wolf & workman that we came two days in a row!! Best bartenders ever are none other than Chantale & Kayla. Their impeccable service & quality cocktails make the experience there awesome. Also the food there is AMAZING, soo delicious & fresh!View more
Called in for a few drinks, we sat at the bar. Great atmosphere & quality cocktails!View more
Very cool atmosphere & delicious food. I will definitely be returning next time I'm in the area. Cocktails were delicious! If I rated the food for appetizers alone, I would give a 5/5. However, sadly the lamb shank was not what I was hoping for. The seasoning is unlike any other lamb shank I've eaten & did not accentuate the flavor of the lamb. The couscous & side salad were bland & without much flavor. I recommend the scotch egg, escargot, & polpettes as appetizers!View more
What a fun Montréal infused British pub! Excellent service. The porc croquettes were a pleasant surprise, & the chicken pot pie was crazy good! The small dessert menu included the sticky toffee pudding like some we enjoyed in England. We had several delicious cocktails.View more
