Since 1999, the restaurant LA PRUNELLE is a bring your wine that imposes itself on the popular Duluth in the heart of Plateau Mont-Royal. The chef conveys her passion in each of her dishes, working with products of Quebec dotted with Mediterranean accents. Respecting both the producers of the province and seasonal changes, the menu leads us into an adventure filled with happy detours. One feels immediately at home in this lively and friendly restaurant, overseen by Annie the co-owner and her team. The place is a beautiful and charming space, with large windows that open completely in the summer. One thing is certain, LA PRUNELLE is a very good value for money and is surely one of the finest dining experiences on the Plateau Mont-Royal.
Reviews describe La Prunelle as a warm, intimate French spot in the Plateau with excellent service and consistently delicious dishes. The menu features tartare de boeuf, magret de canard, ris de veau, octopus, and creme brulee, with many noting refined technique, appealing presentation and thoughtful flavor combinations. The atmosphere is cozy and charming, with soft lighting, a lively street view and a pleasant terrace in summer. Bring your own wine is a popular feature, offering good value for both date nights and small gatherings. Some critics note occasional drawbacks such as fries or certain dishes being too salty, or service slowing a bit when the restaurant is busy, and the space can get loud. Service is repeatedly praised as impeccable, attentive, and professional, with staff making guests feel cared for. Repeat visits are common, with guests praising consistency, warmth and quality ingredients. Overall, La Prunelle is seen as a standout neighborhood gem for classic, well executed French cuisine in Montreal, delivering memorable evenings and a welcoming atmosphere.
One of the best restaurant experiences I've had. Every dish was amazing, the service was amazing & don't even start me about the price... Amazing! It definitely deserves a Michelin sta

Every time we are in Montreal we come to this place. Everything about it is wonderful, the ambiance, the food, the service. The lighting was magical, all of the courses were delicious, & the service was attentive without being too much. We will come back for sure!
Absolutely amazing experience.
We celebrated my wife's 40th birthday with a group of 10, & everything ran flawlessly. The restaurant is small & cozy, with a warm, intimate atmosphere-not loud, not overwhelming. Service was impeccable. Erica, our waitress, was professional, attentive, & genuinely on point.
The food-classic French cuisine-was delicious & refined. Overall, it was a magical evening, & my love's birthday was a real success. She was happy, & so was I.
Constructive notes (because perfection is suspicious):
The octopus 😭 - unfortunately rubbery. We were told this was an exception & that it's usually excellent. I'll give them the benefit of the doubt.
The chairs could be more comfortable, especially for a place where guests tend to stay & enjoy the whole evening.
Highly recommended.
& one last thing: for this level of food & service, the bill was surprisingly reasonable-a very welcome bonus in these times.

This tried & true BYOW spot was a great choice on a chilly Friday night. We had tasty oysters , a slightly too salty steak frites followed by a Quebec cheese plate & a rather good squash pie. Service was also a highlight & there were just enough people for there to be a vibe.
