It's definitely not worth the price. 50$ for 1 hamburger, 1 frie & 2 drinks. My 5 year old took a few bites of my hamburger but both our stomachs hurt after an hour. Maybe the meat wasn't fresh. 🤢
Smash burger: Crispy-edged, juicy-centered AAA Angus beef, dripping with melted cheese & layered with caramelized onions, fresh lettuce, pickles, & that rich, tangy house sauce.
Golden fries on the side, hot, salty, impossible to resist & a chilled glass of bubbly to lift every bite. It's indulgent, it's messy, it's exactly what you want right now. #PRIMEBARABOEUF #Montreal
The smash burger at Prime Bar à Boeuf in Royalmount, Montreal is cooked to perfection, with the potato brioche bun also hitting the mark. The lettuce still feels unnecessary, but the burger itself is juicy & flavorful.
The fries have been hit or miss in our experience, but they truly shine in a poutine. The last time we visited, the poutine was excellent. The sauce is rich & tasty, the cheese is just right, & the aioli on the side is a nice touch.
The service at this food court counter was excellent. Our server was friendly, professional, & engaging without being overbearing. He even took the time to speak kindly with my child, which was really appreciated.
Of course, it's still a food court, so you carry your own tray & find your own table. But for what it is, Prime Bar à Boeuf delivers a satisfying burger experience & attentive service that goes above what you might expect from counter service.
Great spot! I definitely recommend the chocolate milkshake, smash burger & fries !
Poutine was absolutely perfect. Every element from the crispy fries to the rich gravy, the fresh cheese curds, & the incredibly tender short ribs was outstanding & clearly made with high?l quality ingredients. Everything came together beautifully. Thank you for such an amazing dish 🙂
This has to be the best burger I have had in a long time. The temperature was spot on, their sauce was magnificent, & the fries were a perfect side. It was my first visit, so the staff took the time to explain the various options & guided me perfectly. A must-try, if you're in the area. Actually, it's even worth a detour!
I ordered a bacon cheese steakhouse burger with fries & a Pepsi , it cost me 40.24$. The fries were soggy & soaked with oil & the burger was salty tasting.
A huge disappointment.
This might actually be the best burger I've had in forever.
The smash? Life altering. Like'where has this been all my life?' levels.
The au jus… unreal. The fries? Crispy, thick, perfect. & the gravy?? A full 10/10 experience.
Truly one of those meals you think about on the drive home.
I ended up going to Prime two days in a row, so I feel like I got a pretty fair sense of the food. First day, I brought a guest & tried the fried chicken burger with coleslaw, & honestly, I was pleasantly surprised. The chicken itself was a thick, perfectly cooked piece of breast-juicy, tender, & well-seasoned. The coleslaw was decent & added a nice crunch. The regular burger, though, was exactly that: regular. Nothing memorable.
The prices are definitely on the higher end for a cafeteria-style setup. I get that the atmosphere is elevated, but still… it adds up quickly.
The biggest disappointment was the Caesar salad. Easily one of the worst I've had-no real Caesar flavour at all. Just some parmesan crisps thrown on top & that's it.
On day two, I tried the poutine with pulled beef. The cheese curd situation was honestly ridiculous-I could count how many were in the bowl. Maybe half a handful. The pulled beef had a nice texture but lacked flavour, & overall the dish felt incomplete.
Fries have a nice colour & occasional crisp, but for the most part they were limp & not enjoyable.
Overall: some hits, some misses, but definitely not consistent enough for me to be excited about going back.
Don't compare this place to cheap fast-food chains. I tried their smashed burger & the meat quality is excellent. They bring in fresh, butcher-style meat, not frozen patties.
The fries were the only disappointment for me. They were brownish & not crispy, apparently this is how they do it in QC. I prefer fries that are golden & crunchy.

I had the hot dog, delicious. Well cooked, juicy, & tasty.
Fries were addictive, couldn't stop eating them.
I'll be back.
