I recently stopped by Boulangerie Première Moisson on Plateau-Mont-Royal, & it was an experience that exceeded expectations in every way. This bakery is not just a place to grab bread or pastries - it's a true Montréal institution that blends quality, tradition, & charm under one roof.
The first thing you notice when walking in is the aroma. Freshly baked bread fills the air & immediately makes you want to try everything. The display counters are beautifully arranged with a wide variety of breads, pastries, sandwiches, & desserts. Everything looks fresh, artisanal, & carefully prepared.
I tried their classic baguette as well as the olive loaf, & both were outstanding - crusty on the outside with that perfect chewy, flavorful inside. Their croissants are among the best I've ever had in Montréal: buttery, flaky, & light, exactly how a croissant should be. I also had a slice of their lemon tart, & it was simply divine - tangy, balanced, & not overly sweet.
Beyond the baked goods, they also offer ready-to-eat meals & sandwiches that make it easy to grab lunch. The smoked salmon sandwich I tried was fresh, well-balanced, & generous in portion. It's clear that they care about using high-quality ingredients in everything they prepare.
The staff were warm, attentive, & patient, even though the place was busy when I visited. Service felt efficient but never rushed, which really added to the overall pleasant experience.
The Plateau location itself is bright & welcoming, with a cozy seating area that makes it easy to enjoy your food on-site.
Overall, Première Moisson delivers on every level - quality, service, & atmosphere. Whether you're looking for daily bread, a quick bite, or a sweet treat, this bakery is a must-visit in Montréal.

'If you're on the hunt for the perfect blend of cozy vibes & heavenly pastries, this place is a must-visit! The aroma of freshly brewed coffee hits you the moment you walk in, & their desserts? Absolutely divine! From buttery croissants to decadent cakes, every bite feels like a hug for your taste buds. The staff is super friendly, & the ambiance is perfect for a casual hangout or even a quick treat-yourself moment. Highly recommend their -it's a game-changer. I'll definitely be coming back for more!

I tried croissant with cappuccino. I can say that the coffee was awful. I couldn't have more than a sip. Croissant was not bad. The disappointing thing was washroom. Too messy, out of soap & paper,... The staff were helpful. Overall, I don't recommend it at all

On peut s'installer & manger dans cette boulangerie qui propose de délicieux croissants notamment celui fourré au sirop d'érable ! Les boissons chaudes sont bonnes. Le personnel est efficace & agréable ! Ils vendent aussi des chocolats pour la période de Pâques
