Honestly, the chicken was extremely tough & hard to chew. I couldn't finish it & had to leave most of it. Really disappointing.

Well my wife & I are back travelling again. We stayed close to home for much of the year thanks to a leaky roof & extensive water damage.
We arrived in Montreal last night & had dinner at Porto Mar. The food & service were excellent & the ambiance, well delightful, charming & quiet.

Le meilleur restaurant portugais de la ville dans le quartier du vieux Montréal. Plats authentiques préparés avec goût, service impeccable & ambiance calme avec du fado en fond sonore. Excellente carte de vins portugais. Je recommande vivement ce restaurant.

Was our first time at this restaurant & we will definitely return. The food was delicious & so fresh. The waitress was very friendly & the atmosphere was relaxing. The music was nice background music & not the loud music so often seen lately at restaurants. They also had a good variety of Portuguese wines. Thank you for a wonderful evening!

We walked in off the street just to have a cocktail & were greeted by two very charming bartenders, a young woman & gentleman. Made delicious cocktails, served up some olives, & had a nice conversation with the bar patrons & employees.

All the dishes served with same veg & potato, which seems strange. Half our meals were perfectly seasoned & delicious. The other half tasted like they had no seasoning at all.

A unique & perfect experience. Great food & one of the best priced meals we had in the area on our trip. Highly recommend which does not come easily from me.

We had a grand time at Porto Mar. Started with a Porto Tonico, had the cod fritters, the seafood rice & finished it off with flan & a frozen lemon dessert. We loved everything, but we particularly enjoyed the seafood rice as it featured a nice mix of fish & seafood.

I think it was a very good experience. The food was very delicious. The six of us, including wine & dessert, spent a total of $375, which is really a good deal. I will patronize it again next time I come to Montreal.

Attentive service & incredible & tasty food ! We tried a Portuguese soda pop juice passion fruit & orange & it was so sweet & good. Also we tried the mix grill for meats & it was amazing!!!! The steak was juicy. Also we had their fresh vegetable soup of the day & some salads. Good choice on our end & we found this spot accidentally

The food was good, but what really made the evening was everything else. The service was excellent: the owner & chef came by for a friendly chat, & our server, Jaiden, was kind & attentive without hovering. The atmosphere was relaxed & inviting, with tasteful Portuguese-inspired décor & music that set the tone without overwhelming conversation. We brought our son along & felt completely at ease; the place is family-friendly without being loud or chaotic. It's not overly fancy or pretentious, & the staff treat you like real people, not like you're at a formal banquet. If you're debating where to go for a relaxed family dinner, this spot is a solid choice.
