Well my wife & I are back travelling again. We stayed close to home for much of the year thanks to a leaky roof & extensive water damage.

We arrived in Montreal last night & had dinner at Porto Mar. The food & service were excellent & the ambiance, well delightful, charming & quiet.

We had an excellent meal & the service was spectacular by Amber. She was very friendly & helpful. We both had the catch of the day & it was delicious. Would highly recommend & if I lived here, I would definitely go back often.

You MUST visit this restaurant! We recently visited in mid May & had a lovely table by the front window. Absolutely delicious & authentic Portuguese food: all five of our entrees were excellent, including the soup & escargot, & my sister is still dreaming of the shrimp dish! Loved the décor, ambiance & beauty of this historic building. Antonio was extremely personable & our waiter was exceptional. Highly recommend this venue for the food, the staff & the restaurant itself, we will definitely be back when we return to Old Montreal!! Thank you both for a delicious meal & very memorable evening!

Highly recommend this restaurant, we booked because the places in the old town seemed very busy but Porto Mar was a haven of good food & excellent service. We had the set menus, lots of choice we chose fish... sardines, cod & creme brûlee to finish, all delicious & good value
