I thought I knew what Korean BBQ was but I was properly educated yesterday at Pony on Ste-Catherine in Montreal. I assumed it would be like the other "Korean" all-you-can-eat places in that area, so when I saw the prices & realized we ordered everything a la carte, I was very concerned. We opted for the mix plate for 2 ($85) which I feared would not be substantial enough... boy, was I wrong! It comes with soup for 2 (their kimchee soup was a revelation!), a beautiful, fluffy, cheesy omelet, premium cuts of meats, & a few veg + an exquisite gamut of banchan that they replenish as needed. All of it was delicious! There was so much food that, despite our best efforts, we couldn't finish it all. Thanks to the charm of the place (loved the Korean playlist going in the background & the pop art on the walls), & impeccable service (thanks Van & Kevin!), this is one of the best new places on the Ste-Catherine strip!
Great place for groups. We felt very welcomed. Since it was week day, it wasn't full so we were well taken care of. The food is good & I find the prices decent for the quality of service, food & drinks. Lots of food for the money. Good value!
I had a great experience at Pony Restaurant. The ambiance was cozy & inviting, & the service was friendly & attentive. The meat was fresh & tender, & the side dishes were delicious. I especially enjoyed the spicy kimchi & the sweet potato sides. The portions were generous & the price was reasonable. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who loves Korean barbeque.
Food was good, but table was uncomfortable- but unavoidable I guess because of the grill in the middle- but for tall people, it is a bit of pretzel situation. I also found the food rather expensive. But, it's not like the prices were hidden, I knew was I was paying before hand- I just wish there was more meat for the price of the meal for 2. Service was great.
The food was excellent, the service was great, & the prices are reasonable!!
Beautiful restaurant with a nice atmosphere & decor. The staff was very friendly & helpful with questions. The portions of food were really good & the food overall was amazing. Great experience overall & the prices were super reasonable for the amount & the quality of the food!
Fun experience, service was good. But we ordered something in double, the server should have coached that.
Also having ownership or management hang out in the dinning room is medium, play with the sound system when no one is around
Meat quality was very nice for the price. Salt should be served with.
The garnishes were well seasoned, so was the soup
Eggs were a tad overcooked but well seasoned
A lot more expensive than all you can eat but the quality is not high to justify it Good food but the price makes it hard to choose over all you can eat kbbq
Delicious food, though it took a little while until someone took our order. The cocktail was a bit underwhelming (really tiny drink for that price), & the grill was a little too high at first so we burnt our meat.
Quite pricy, but absolutely delicious. Staff was very nice & the ambiance was REALLY FUN!
Overall: 3/5 Good in taste quality, | Price vs. Value: 2/5 - Unfortunately, considering the price, the quantity of ban chan & especially the meat left much to be desired. The portion size was surprisingly inadequate, given the price tag of nearly $100. Despite the quality, the overall value for the money was disappointing, as we didn't feel full by the end of the meal. | Menu Variety: 2.5/5 - The restaurant offers a good variety of options to accommodate diverse tastes. However, it falls short in addressing specific dietary needs, lacking combos for individuals who cannot consume pork or beef. Additionally, the limitation of one stove per table complicates matters for those with dietary restrictions. | Ambiance: 3/5 - The decor was quite appealing, & the choice of music, although not bad, was slightly loud, making it challenging to engage in conversations. | Food Quality: 3/5 - The meat's quality was exceptional, offering a fresh, delicious, & tasty experience with a pleasing texture. However, a minor drawback was that the bibimbap arrived a bit cold. | Hygiene & Sanitation: 4/5 - The restaurant maintained good cleanliness throughout the establishment, including the restrooms, ensuring a hygienic & sanitary dining environment. |Service: 5/5 - The staff exhibited the utmost professionalism, courtesy, & responsiveness, providing an awesome dining experience. Service was consistently prompt.

Service was warm & the server knowledgeable.
I would add some flare when serving soju at the table (ie shake it/tornado it/hit it with you elbow).
Portions are on the shy side for the price. The meats needs more seasoning add a bit more of sugar or honey/salt or soy.
Kimchi jiggea was a tad flat maybe a dash of fish sauce & a coupe drip of soy sauce would help it.
The Kim chi itself felt like store bought & was missing a bit more fermenting/taste.
Place looks good but missing a bit of warmth.
Please open up/turn up the vent because we had some difficulty breathing.
Just my two cents.
Best of luck guys!
The music was realllly loud. I couldn't hear my friends & family talking. I wish I could have ordered the side dishes with an Ipad so the delevery of them would have been more often. We had to wait for them even tho they were free. There is a lot of smoke in the restaurant, maybe adding fans can be a great idea. My clothes smelled meat's smoke for ever after leaving. For the price , I wish you offered more variaty of food. Like all you can eat sushi of dumpling of refill of soup for free etc. In general the food was good, but because of the smoke, the loud environment & the limited choice of free all you can eat side dishes ( which was really small portion) I don't think i will go back at the restaurant.
In general I was normal we were disappointed about the quality & the service for the price sur we will never back there they give you 2 pieces of meat & full of macaroni salad I ve never seen before in corean BBQ....
I just felt the portions were small for the price, but overall my experience & those who were with me was very good! Loved the vibe.
