Review Summary

Plentea is widely celebrated as a cozy, hidden gem in downtown Montreal, beloved by many for its expansive and creative selection of high-quality tea blends, especially the authentic Karak chai and various latte options. Visitors frequently highlight the welcoming atmosphere, the friendly and knowledgeable staff, and the impressive assortment of freshly baked, unique cookies and vegan-friendly treats. While the shop is recognized for its charm and quality, some customers note that the space can be quite small and busy, occasionally leading to slower service during peak hours, and opinions on the food offerings and pricing occasionally vary. Overall, it is highly recommended as a destination for those seeking a warm, flavorful tea experience in a relaxing, inviting environment.

It was perfect Thank you

The owner claimed that everything was prepared from scratch, but the paratha was clearly a frozen one with labneh & olives simply added on top. That was quite disappointing.

Additionally, the karak chai tasted very similar to regular Indian masala tea, so I'm not sure why it was labeled as'karak chai.'

Moreover, the Mâcha Strawberry was full of ice cubes.

Unfortunately, the owner also came across as arrogant & could benefit from improving his customer service skills. I believe being honest about the food & treating customers with respect would greatly enhance the overall experience.

I ordered a karak chai with saffron, & it was extremely disappointing. There was no noticeable saffron flavor at all, despite paying extra for it. The drink tasted mostly like water & lacked the rich, creamy consistency that a proper karak chai should have. To make matters worse, the ice had already melted by the time it was served, making it even more watered down.

What made this even more disappointing is that I've had this drink in the past & enjoyed it, which makes the difference even more noticeable. The consistency & quality seem to have dramatically diminished over time.

For almost $8, this was honestly the worst karak chai I've ever had. I expected much better quality for the price. I'm not sure if this was due to the staff member who prepared it today, but the experience was far below expectations. I won't be returning, & I definitely cannot recommend the karak chai with saffron.

Disappointing Value
'I ordered the Karak Chai today ($7) & was disappointed to find the cup significantly under-filled. While the flavor was good, the portion size didn't justify the premium price. I'd appreciate seeing better pouring standards in the future to ensure customers get what they pay for.'

This place is a top! A proper karak chai, as it should be!

From Toronto, visiting Montreal, could not really find a good steeped tea situation aside from artificial chai lattes from cafè. Even Tim Hortons did not offer their signature steep tea.

Found this GEM! Got the karak chai, all natural ingredients & made perfect! Made my stay here meaningful. Also their baked in house cookies were fantastic, matcha chocolate chip & pistachio dark chocolate.

Will Definitely return when back in city God willing!
